since im apparently being controversial today, lets see which one of these opinions will garner me the most anon hate :3c
1. i hate afab demigirls/magigirls call themselves âtrans womenâ
2. ppl who post how their suicidal in discourse tags are manipulative n im gonna tell them exactly that
3. cis ppl dont have gender dysphoria, yall dont seem to know what the definitions of âcisâ and âgender dysphoriaâ are
4. if u knowingly reblog from transphobes but choose to ignore this bcs they ~make good points sometimes~ ur a piece of shit lol
5. soy milk is good
i agree with most of these but people can be cis and still be dysphoric⊠ive heard plenty of people (esp gnc women/butch lesbians) say that they experience dysphoria but still identify as their assigned gender (in this case theyâre dysphoric women)
I believe youâre just talking about body dysphoria @cishethet Dysphoria by itself is defined as âa general dissatisfaction for lifeâ it it conflicts with gender, itâs gender dysphoria. If itâs just about the body, then itâs dysphoria, though there could be a specific term for it
yeah, i see what ur saying but ik people who identified as trans and have really awful experiences with gender/specifically gendered body parts but then eventually decided they were cis despite their dysphoria which deals specifically w gender. like, idk, gender is often extremely traumatizing for women and gnc women in particular and idk why thatâs not grouped under gender dysphoria if itâs a dissatisfaction with gender/the gendered body even if you ultimately end up cis. this is mostly a terminology debate but i dont see why cis people cant have gender dysphoria and just not id as trans, like itâs more complicated than just them not experiencing it at all just because of their identification
like in a lot of ways there is no/very little material difference between many (afab) butch and nb lesbians or even gnc women and nb women and the only thing is a personal label
@heteromerican this applies to ur response too. tell me if im misunderstanding tho
Bc gender dysphoria makes you ID as another gender & if youâre cis that doesnât happen for you
IDing as something else *later* is actually a different story bc identity can change and junk
And comparing nb lesbians to butch lesbians/gnc women like all nb women are butch or gnc is ://////// pls stop
Anyway let us have this one thing lol cis people can just say âdysphoriaâ
i mean nb people arent a coherent social category and yes nb women can be feminine/conform to gender in terms of physical presentation, but gender nonconformity isnât just in terms of physical appearance but also mental state. i dont see how nb women are at all gender conforming if theyâre nonbinary so its not like im falsely conflating two completely unrelated groups of people
anyway i genuinely dont think its as easy and concrete as that bc when weâre talking about specific lived experiences, being dysphoric about gendered body parts is a different experience than simple dysphoria (which i experience as a mentally ill person who often cant relate at all to my embodiment)
*stares into camera like Iâm on the office*
we disagree in that you think gender dysphoria automatically means u id as another gender. iâve always thought it meant a dissatisfaction with gendered body parts/your gender in relation to your body or vice versa regardless of identification so idk what to say other than that i dont think its an exclusively trans term
