1/4 Wings of fire Subspecies- the Deepfins!

By far the most reclusive and least known Sewing subspecies, the Deepfins dwell in the deepest parts of the Pyrrhia oceans. Few are seen in the Seawing kingdom, and none are seen on land.

They are nearly 2x bigger than other Seawing subspecies and have much lankier bodies with many sensitive antennae, labial sensors along the mouth, and additional gills. However, don’t let their deep-sea appearance intimidate you, as Deepfins are known for being very kind and understanding dragons, albeit quiet.

Their scale color range is very dark with striped overlapping patterns- this helps them blend into the huge spanning deepsea forests of their habitat.

Deepfins lack the typical glow scales like most Seawings do, instead they have multiple bioluminescent spatterings and stripes along their body. Because of this, Deepfins cannot communicate through the traditional underwater language Aquatic, and therefore have developed their own unique language called Deepspeak.

Deepspeak is a more rudimentary language that uses auditory cues (such as clicks, growls, and whines) combined with hand, antennae, and head movement. Basic Deepspeak is taught in Seawing schools as a required credit.

Deepfins have the best night vision of any dragon tribe, however this means their eyes are extremely sensitive to light. Because of this, leaving the deep ocean and entering depths with more light can actually damage their vision, and being exposed to full sunlight could permanently blind a Deepfin. Specialized goggles were created to solve this, and must be worn by any Deepfin who wishes to leave their natural environment.

Deepfins travel and hunt in small family packs, as being solitary in the deep sea invites attack from the apex predators; Rovers.

Rovers are large opportunistic sharks who travel in small numbers. Though completely blind, Rovers rely on extremely sensitive antennae to find their way through the ocean. Their spontaneous attacks are very dangerous and can easily overpower a lone Deepfin, making them the Deepfins only natural predator.

Deepfins have a rare mutation that causes their skin to be translucent, and nearly transparent along their underbelly. This allows their organs and bones to be visible, as well as having a glowing appearance.

Some old drawings of icewings! I believe every tribe has a unique royal trait like Seawings, for icewings it would be huge antlers and great manes on their neck. I also think their children would be born fluffy to conserve heat- this fur would thin and fall out as they grow older. A rare trait, however, would prevent the fur from ever leaving, causing an adult fluffy Icewing!
