Indeed Mūsā عليه السلام used to say from his supplications :

اللَّهُمَّ لَيِّنْ قَلْبِي بِالتَّوْبَةِ، وَلَا تَجْعَلْ قَلْبِي قَاسِيًا كَالْحَجَرِ

“O' Allah soften my heart with tawbah [repentance] and do not make my heart hard like a stone."
