I surrender, Monday. You win. Touché on today's surprise.... It kept me on my toes. Love working in a profession where no two days are the same, and everyday leads to another resume builder. Today, I'm adding "Animal Control Specialist" to the list.

Teaching on a Friday is like taking a day trip to a zoo where all the animals were let out of their cages and you were miraculously appointed as the head zookeeper. Be strong out there my fellow teachers!

Spreading the Joy of Uber

Teaching some of my Ag teacher buddies about the joys of Uber. A must have while in Vegas for our conference.

Opening Ceremonies

It isn't a successful Opening Ceremonies practice if a student isn't tearing up or crying.... Full disclosure: I don't even mean to make them cry. It just happens, and it's the most uncomfortable feeling in the entire world.

When you are not at school for the day and students text you with concerns, questions, and pleas to return. Feeling the love today.

First time to have more than 5 state fair projects... Not sure that we will do this again. Around 41 projects is just a little too much for this ag teacher. Not to mention the anxiety I get when I hit a bump in the highway and every single project sounds like it's shattering into a million pieces.

Year 4 Revelation

As I drove home and reflected on today's events while collecting over $50,000 in meat sales, I came to the realization that ag teaching is essentially the equivalent to triaging in the medical field. But instead of the occasional disaster that a nurse or doctor has to deal with, Ag teachers walk into a disaster almost everyday and must triage in order to not lose everything including their job and their sanity.
