First, we doesn't have any proofe to Pearl would have any need for a relationship. She learned how to be independent
She is still a Pearl, and because of this, she need some frien or somebody to be around. This is comfortable to her
Even if she looking for a partner, gem's "parner" is meaning totaly different thing. "The partner" is somebody who is trusted enought to fuse with you. And the more trusted and liked/loved, the longer you can keep up the fusion and it's more comfortable. That's all
I think gems try to make deeper acquaintances than humans usually ('cause of fusion) and Pearls are typicaly better socialised, because of their positsions; they sometimes change owner; sometimes puppets of their commander, something commander of others. So they have to be good in social connections

Go back a little to "In Dreams"..... It was relevant "Stefan" don't want to kissing, but after Steven's reaction to it (it is, because it was literaly what he thought)....after the Connsidian scene........ I'm not sure Steven lookes to Connie just like a friend....

I didn't watch the new episode yet, but from what I understand, Pearl created for herself a harem.
Steven Universe Future brought us two amazing new episodes!
Peridot’s tears in “In Dreams” reminds me of my favorite moment in SU, in “When it Rains”, when Peridot seems to be crying as she steps out into the rain. That is a real important moment for me as somebody with extreme anxiety/stress. Seeing Peridot put Steven’s wellbeing over her fandom is also very personal for me.
Stevonnie’s skating dancing is a pure joy to watch. I’ve had friends who’ve drifted apart from me (perhaps it was mutual), it’s nice to see Steven and Connie enjoy each other and themselves in this episode as Stevonnie, even though I know some pain is coming next week.
Point is, a solid week for Steven Universe Future.
