GUARDIAN TITLES

Based in the Ursegal conlang

Every Guardian in Sornieth who has come of age carries a title which accompanies their name.

A guardian who have just begun his search is called Yevaun. This means “Searching.”

When their charge is found, they become a Yerlan, a “residing or settling.” They will remain a Yerlan until the passing of the next festival. In more traditional cultures (Earth, Ice, Nature etc) , this period lasts until the guardian finds a permanent home with his charge. This can take a matter of minutes or a matter of years. More progressive flights (Wind, Arcane, Lightning,) follow the festival rule.

Once this time is over, the guardian becomes a Sulan, or “settled”. Most guardians remain Sulanal for the rest of their lives.

In the event that a charge is somehow lost, the title changes to Suvaun, or “searched.”

In formal situations, it is rude not to address a guardian with their title unless of course, the guardian is a Suvaun

I haven't had motivation to write in a long time and even if I did I probably won't have the motivation to write it down. So I'm just gonna sorta summarize my lore I guess. I guess spoilers? That ancient asshole Eldritch King? Blitz is basically that guys reincarnation. " reborn in the favor of the Arcanist and the Shade". Of course he's not the only one connected to that 'long lost' time (I don't know how long dragons live or how old I'm allowed to make my dragons so idk let's just say it's long enough ago that the elders' elders were probably still hatchlings) so a lot of stuff goes down, especially with Blitz's daughter, Torren, and things great weird. That's all I've got. I'm tired. I'm out.

Kinda random, but; Flight Gods + Laughter!

Earthshaker: Not really one for laughing, but on the INCREDIBLY rare occasion that he does, it sounds more like a tired wheeze than a laugh.

Flamecaller: A dry, harsh-sounding cackle. Most of her humor consists of sharp, snarky jabs.

Windsinger: Has a good sense of humor and LOVES to laugh. Very light and kinda giggly.

Tidelord: Also not one for laughing much, the most you’ll get outta him is an amused hum.

Shadowbinder: MENACING HYENA LAUGH

Icewarden: It’s nearly impossible to make this guy laugh. It’s not that he lacks a sense of humor, he’s just not very expressive. Most of the time, you’re lucky enough just getting a tiny smirk out of him.

Stormcatcher: LOUD, BOOMING THUNDER LAUGH not that you ever hear it because he’s a super-serious stick-in-the-mud most of the time.

Lightweaver: The most adorable, sparkly little giggle you will ever hear.

Gladekeeper: A quiet chuckle that’s also kinda snooty.

Plaguebringer: Loud, wet, and raspy, sounding more like a coughing fit than a laugh.

Arcanist: Has the most sunny and infectious laugh out of all the gods.

Maren Scout - Aqua/Aqua/Seafoam, Siren Sylvan Wings Maren Ambusher - Seafoam/White/Jade, Grove Sylvan Wings Maren Warrior - Brown/Brown/Mulberry, Raven Sylvan Wings Maren Wavesinger - Purple/Tangerine/Rose, Diaphanous Sylvan Wings Maren Currentfinder - Mulberry/Pink/Seafoam, Twilight Sylvan Wings Maren Shark Hunter - Aqua/Teal/Ivory, Grove Sylvan Wings Clearwater Oracle - Sky/Steel/Denim, Silver Sylvan Wings Maren Warlock - Slate/Stone/Shadow, Scarlet Sylvan Wings

Dragon-like Maren, Maren-like dragons? Good friends that want to be more similar? Fashion? Friends? Familiars? Shapeshifters? Maybe they’re just colour-coding to match each other.

Perhaps some dragons want to experience the world as their Maren companion does, and the same for the Maren and the dragon’s world. Maybe it’s a new kind of adventure for both of them.
