my medicine cat can't stop bringing kits into the clan now 50% of our population is under the age of 3 moons.
average stormclan cat adopting 1 kit is a statistical error. blueswirl georg, who keeps bringing in children from fuck knows where, is a statistical outlier adn should not be counted.
Dancingkit
Guardian of Victims and Self-Determination
My Value Is Not Yours To Determine
Former Clan: PatienceClan, a clan by the sea
Owner: @liatai
Usable: yes, but ping me because I want to see!
Cat Aspect: a grey mackerel tabby she-kit, barely three moons old. Her emerald eyes are intense, brimming with confidence. Those who have witnessed her spirit often feel as though she has an aura much bigger than her tiny frame -- like her presence is backed by hundreds of invisible faceless others, or like a mountain lion stalks in her pawsteps, or like the calm air in the eye of a hurricane follows her.
Personality: bossy, outspoken, and righteous. She has a stubborn streak that has served her well. In life, she was fond of mossball, and very particular about how she kept her nest.
Symbols: blessed milk thistle, a starfish inside a shell, malachite, a green feline eye -- for clans with skilled stonecarving skill, a malachite amulet shaped like an eye or with a starfish-in-a-shell engraving would be a potent charm for invoking Dancingkit.
Dancingkit's life was extremely short. Her mother died in the midst of kitting, but luckily, she and her four siblings were found by a wandering PatienceClan patrol. They were adopted by the clan and raised communally.
The stress of losing their mother and having to adapt to this new clan unfortunately wracked her brother Marlinkit's body severely. Yellowcough gripped him, and despite the best efforts of the medicine cat Morel, he seemed to fade day by day. Morel took her aside after one visit where Marlinkit struggled to breathe, and asked her if she would be willing to do anything to help her siblings survive. If so, at night, to meet him outside of camp. He would prepare a special ceremonial meal, containing medicine that would help her commune with Starclan as they went on a meditative walk under the stars. Since she was Marlinkit's blood relative, perhaps the link would be stronger, and they would reveal something to both medicine cat and kit.
Eager to be chosen for a special task, she devoured the prepared fish, its belly stuffed with leaves and berries and seeds. As she followed Morel's pawsteps toward the treeline, she began to feel lightheaded, her paws growing numb. Morel slowed his pace, purring, supporting her side with his flank. That means it's working, he said. You might feel like you need to throw up, or have a hairball, he said -- swallow it down, endure. The herbs in the fish were potent, and they sometimes had that effect on cats. It was important to keep the herbs in your stomach, to let them work. Let me know when you feel like you need to lay down, he said -- Starclan tends to visit sleeping minds best, and they will guide us to where you should lay.
They walked. Her limbs tingled, her breath started to come in gasps, her chest and tummy hurt -- but a pleasant numbness lay over it all. Eventually she could walk no longer, and collapsed. Morel curled around her, purring and grooming her tired head. Rest, he said. You're doing so well. You should see Starclan soon. You're doing your siblings and clan a great service. Close your eyes. Let yourself rise above your body -- go to them, talk to them. Deep breaths, try to stay calm, the poppy will help. Thank you, darling dancer. I will watch over them all for you. Go; go to Starclan. The Guardian of the Gate shall keep you safe.
That was strange, she thought, catching the scents of lavender and rosemary -- but the fuzz in her head was growing, her body felt so heavy and numb and tingly. When her eyes blinked open again, she was in Starclan -- but why did the heather-blue eyes of the cat who greeted her look so sad?
And why did she say that Dancingkit couldn't go back to her body? That she was -- dead?
She sat in stunned silence as the cats of PatienceClan heard Morel's account of what happened that night. Sacrifice? Feeding the spirits? Her death a blessing, because her mother was dead and thus she had few attachments in camp?! Marlinkit's yellowcough took his life a few days later, and even as the two sat with the Guardian of the Gate to bless the warrior who took up the healer's mantle after Morel's exile, she couldn't stop thinking about it.
No. Her death wasn't a blessing. She had been deceived. Her life, and all its potential, stolen from her at the whim of someone she should have been able to trust.
How dare he? How dare he decide that she was worth more dead? How dare he make that decision for her? How dare he decide that all that she was, all that she could have been, was only worth the weight of her death? How dare he decide she was a sacrifice? He sacrificed nothing, while she was robbed of everything. And it didn't even help her brother -- one final lash across a back already flayed open and bleeding.
Well, she decided, flexing her claws as she padded the shores of the ethereal seas. Her death was a tragedy, but she would make her afterlife a blessing -- to all of those who would be victims of those like Morel. She would fight tooth and claw against any who would dare steal the future of another for their own benefit. This, she vowed.
Dancingkit is typically invoked in two particular ways. One, more whispered and private -- victims of crimes and injustice can call out to her, taking comfort in the company of someone who knows their pain. She bestows blessings upon them, directing them to those who can help them heal and grow beyond what happened to them. When it gets hard, and you feel haunted by the specter of your trauma, Dancingkit will walk with you. She understands the complex emotions that come from trauma, and shames you for none of them. She won't claim that what happened to you was "your own fault" or "fated" or "for the greater good" -- she'll be honest and say it sucks!
She actually tends to ruffle the feathers of a number of other Starclan cats, who place great importance on prophecies and fates. She rankles against the idea of destiny. Destiny is what you decide it is, not some people with power over you!
This is the other reason she is called upon as a spirit. Dancingkit is a spirit of self-determination. You define your purpose and your worth in the end, not others; hiss upon anyone who says otherwise. You're the one who has to live with yourself and your choices, not them. Cats who feel cheated by fate, who get the short end of the destiny stick, and those who feel their right to choose their own path was stolen by those in power invoke her as an advocate. She stands up for the disadvantaged, and is known to force those with power over prophecy to spin the fates in a way that is kinder to those under their sway.
If you need someone to stand directly in the way and shout "NO, THIS IS WRONG" until things change? Call upon Dancingkit. Even if they try to push past her, she's been a spirit for a long time. She knows how to appear to step out of the way while positioning herself to be even more in the way. What can they do? She's already dead. Nothing more to lose.
And, to be honest, it's nice to have someone in Starclan that cats who feel abused by fate can turn to, her elders murmur. Keeps them from turning to the Dark Forest instead.

Ashenpaw from @sootclan! This little guy is so nervous i wanna like. Put a weighted blanket over him. Giving squirrel vibes if you catch my drift /pos. His markings are so distinct and strong, I love how they all layer on top of each other!
Shadebreak from @aphidclan-clangen! Hey Beau you made the most gorgeous little emo kitty <3 and the fact that they are the nonbinary flag is the best. My fave part of their design is probably their little rockstar neck ruff!
Husk from @shelter-clangen! I love this character type, he is abrasive and loud just like me and his little hooves are delightful. I love how you write him as well, I hope no one eats him <3 (oh god)
Sunwillow from @pomegranateclan-gen! First off, I'm so sorry you lost your notes and I really hope you are able to continue your comic (or start a new one)! Sunwillow and Brownwhisper's relationship is so interesting to me, Sun is so calm but in a mysterious and slightly shady way that really made me invested in where he was headed.
Lavenderheart from @amazonsclan! Lav finding the forget-me-nots was heartbreaking oml, and I love the ghosts and pale ginger tortie colors so much. Huge respect to you for doing this comic in two languages as well, so awesome!
Batpaw from @dreamclan-clan-gen! YAHHHH BATPAW!! I saw him come to be in the CCC server and he is such a little meow meow. The fact that he doesn't even have a good reason to send them through the sparkle falls besides making them sparklecats (and maybe tying them to Starclan i guess) is so funny. What a guy <3
Curlbird from @fluttercats-clangen-yippee! Pink and blue are some of my favorite colors and these specific shades even more so. I love Curlbird and her, ah, troublesome nature. Plus her (I assume) tortie pattern is so cute!! Ahhhh I wanted to draw like all of the fluttercats Yuno, your designs are just so adorable.
Hazmat by @copilotpikachu! Yesss I got so many sparklecats I'm so happy. I love how blinding Hazmat is in the groupshot, everybody be paying attention to them. The neon colors actually work so well together <3
Sunpaw from @elementaldeityoffood! Can't wait to see your comic when you make one, this little guy looks so sweet! Hopefully he recovers from his shock soon, I assume if he's having a rough time with that that you did some sort of limited-founders challenge? Anyway, I love me a little orange guy!
Wisteriastar from @flickerclan-blog! OHHH MY SHAYLAAA she is so young and so brave! I'm worried about those shadow cats they ran into but I believe in them they can totally handle it. I like the black on black with the purple eyes (ik you said they are your fave), it is very striking!
Sheeppaw from @plush0fairy! I squealed when I saw this design sheet and sent it to all my friends, I'm obsessed with Sheeppaw's scrunkliness /pos. The ears are a very satisfying shade and her curly gray whiskers were so fun to draw :3
Morel from @clangen-pantheon! Oh my god Morel is so fucked uppppp like literally. He is such an interesting character, I think the way you tied in some pretty wack rng to make a haunting and compelling story is masterful. I also love how self-assured he is that he is doing the right thing, being the patron of both sacrifice and poison is a great dichotomy.
Pinefrost from @owlfangdraws! Your blorbo has such an aesthetically pleasing design and the little heart on the cheek is just so darling. I like the asymmetry on the face and the intensity of the dark markings especially!
Emeraldstar from @as-the-raven-cries-wolf! He is my kinda fucked up little guy :3 His design is so so awesome, I already love the ghost pelt and the wind markings on his back in addition to his incredibly piercing emerald eyes? Perfection. I also love how freakin' big he is, like dayum!
Fogpool from @cycloneclangen! Fopo beloved, he is the moment he is the slay. I really tried to capture just how luscious his coat is LOL everyone go look at Arty's comic if you don't believe me. I love this sassy guy I hope he gets clanmates soon <3
Milkbramble
Guardian of Laughing Waters
Guide to the Nearest Celebration
Former Clan: MapleClan, a clan nestled in a birch forest
Owner: @liatai
Usable: yes, but ping me because I want to see!
Cat Aspect: a cream-colored bicolor she-cat with white paws and sparkling yellow-green eyes, barely past apprentice age. Her voice tends to have a slight echo to it, no matter where she appears.
Personality: very, very playful! Quick to laugh. A good mediator with an excellent sense of direction, especially fond of kits.
Symbols: blackberry blossoms, seafoam, a spiral with its outside tail pointed to the sky (sometimes with a little hook on that end, like a happy cat's tail)
While humans will sometimes describe a brook as babbling, the cats of MapleClan tend to call such a stream's sounds "chattering," "clicking," or "chuckling." For in the tumbling of the water into minuscule holes and dips in the riverbed, one can hear the playful calls of Milkbramble, chittering at local birds as she passes, making all sorts of noises to see what gets cats' attention and pleases their ears the most.
Even in life, Milkbramble rarely sat still, flitting between her clanmates like a rivulet of cheer, gracefully swerving around even the grumpiest rocks in a way to make them smile a bit (and admire her acrobatics if nothing else). A fast friend to all her peers, a witty playmate even to elders. She was even honored for her good humor when it came time to be named!
When celebrations came, Milkbramble was among those cheering the loudest and participating the most in festivities. She was particularly fond of watching kits during them, leading them in games and japes. This has remained a constant in the afterlife, as her spirit can sometimes be seen swirling around a clan's youngest during times of celebration. (She has also been known to make an appearance when adult cats are in the middle of meetings and kits are otherwise left bored and unattended -- but beware, for when she appears then, she often steers kits into mischief! It's meant to lighten spirits, but even well-intentioned japery can have side effects.)
Her absence was felt keenly when she fell into a river and drowned, when she was off updating her mental map of the territory. She remains a (somewhat cheeky) matron of mapmakers, offering guidance in the flow of water. Rivers' flows may shift, but they all have a beginning and an end, all flow downhill, and all eventually meet a larger body of water. Camps and territory boundaries often follow the flow of water, so by sticking to one if you're lost, you may often find a friend or a landmark to assist you, says Milkbramble's wisdom.
Seafoam, and like white foams that form atop turbulent waters, are sometimes called "Milkbramble's fur." A sign that she's been playing in the area so often, stirring things up, that she's left her sheddings in the water. It's also a sign to the savvy to not trust the water -- for her fur only collects in troubled water, and it's not wise to swim where her fur collects and rushes past! It should be transient, moving on and disappearing quickly when the water is safe -- Milkbramble is a busy cat, moving on to the next cat who needs a bit of cheer or a bit of mischief.
Lemonkit
Guardian of Lightning
She Who Hunts The Sky
(art by @boughclan-clangen )
Former Clan: ClanClan
Owner: the creators and fans of the Clangen creator Discord server!
Usable: yes
Cat Aspect: a storm-grey she-kit with a speckled coat and striped tail, eyes bright yellow-gold and intense. Sometimes heralded with static electricity and the smell of petrichor.
Personality: Impulsive, observant, determined, mischievous, and absolutely brimming with energy. Playful and enthusiastic, never staying still, always on the move.
Symbols: lemon tree leaves, lemongrass, yellow objects, a lightning bolt with claw marks or a pawprint over it
How, as a cat, do you even begin to make theological sense of what happened to Lemonkit? Lightning strikes in the middle of camp, harming no one but one almost-newborn kit, killing them instantly.
They say that when the clouds reached down to try to strike ClanClan, Lemonkit with her bright and impulsive soul LEAPED FORTH from the ground, chasing the lightning all the way back up to its source, determined to hunt and bring down whatever sent it! She would hunt the storm, biting its neck and kicking it with her claws, dragging it down to the fresh-kill pile! No sky-growler was going to get HER family!
... Granted, she was just a kit. So perhaps all she can do is annoy the storm with her little needle teeth and fearsome paw baps. But she is relentless, and never tires thanks to being a spirit!
Lemonkit is the reason that lightning never strikes twice in the same place, and why storms always eventually pass. If they stay in place for too long, Lemonkit will catch up, and she's going to bite their ankles! Grrrrr!!!
While things with a citrus scent tend to be repellent to cats, they are still kept around camp as talismans to make storms think twice. Her mark is sometimes drawn over structures and havens as a protective charm, ringed with bright yellow objects and citrus-smelling herbs in a place that's visible to the sky. Tread carefully, lightning! This is Lemonkit's territory! Is striking here really worth being harried?
Lemonkit may never truly catch the thundermakers. They are powerful, and always on the move. But she will never give up the chase.
As a lesser aspect to her lightning hunting, she is sometimes invoked for perseverance even in the face of hopeless odds. She may not be able to kill the lightning, but she can make it move. And that's no small feat for a small kit.
Thrush
Guardian of Peaceful Death
Loving Psychopomp
Former Clan: PatienceClan, a clan by the sea
Owner: @liatai
Usable: yes, but ping me because I want to see!
Cat Aspect: a truly ancient tom (297 moons!!!! This guy was almost 25 years old when he died!) with the energy and vibrancy in his frame of a young warrior, almost always with a purr under his words. His amber eyes glimmer with starlight, his medium-length coat is soft and pleasant to touch, some of the smaller orange rosettes fading and reappearing at random on his pelt.
Personality: Flamboyant, clever, and a good hunter. Thrush is showy and loves a good romp, and there is usually a gentle joy in everything he does. Almost always in motion now that his joints are no longer hurting. He also loves to gossip with other elders in Starclan.
Symbols: a V shape made with two lines without touching at the bottom (like \/), a flying small bird, a round orange spot placed on the throat or flanks of a cat
A little more than a year after Beeschurger, Guardian of Kittypets lived and died with PatienceClan, a patrol found another elderly cat by the sea, ravaged by carrionplace disease and calling out for a twoleg that would never come in the midst of his fever. Escorting him back to camp, to give him a safe place to die if nothing else, the medicine cats of the clan gathered. With a heartfelt prayer to Beeschurger to watch over this newcomer, they set to work with all their skill. Despite knowing the prognosis for a cat with carrionplace disease was grim even if Thrush had been years younger, they could at least ease his symptoms.
It turned out that a relief from his symptoms was all that Thrush's body needed.
His recovery was miraculous. Within two days, he was able to stand unassisted. Within four, he was stiffly wandering the medicine den, asking questions and telling stories. By the next full moon, no signs of the deadly illness remained, not even a scar or rasp in his voice. His purrs were deep and joyful, echoed by every medicine cat.
After moving to the elders' den proper, breathing more clearly than he had in some time, he settled into his nest with a deep sigh of contentment. He bumped his head against everyone who came to see him, thanking them. Purring himself to sleep, he settled.
The next morning came with only his body in the nest, spirit gone to the stars beyond, but with a gentle, peaceful smile on his face. A kinder death than any he would have faced without aid -- no carrionplace disease. Only old age.
Meeting Beeschurger in the afterlife was a pleasant surprise, along with many others, including visits to his beloved twolegs in their own afterlives. Without arthritis slowing him down anymore, nobody can keep Thrush still, though they'd scarcely want to! He decided to make it his job to lead others gently into that good night -- to ease the transition between this life and the next, to guide wayward souls, and to wipe away the pain and wear of dying. His hunting skill is put to good use in finding souls in need of comfort, and his clever mind is quick to find the right words and actions to help.
He doesn't limit himself to just Clan cats, either. He visits veterinary clinics (they're a lot less scary when you choose to go there and can no longer be stuck with needles!), old buildings, homes, ships -- anywhere you might find a cat whose time among the living has come to an end. At times, he even accompanies the spirits of kittypets to their humans, whether to help offer them comfort as they grieve or to purr succor to a human who has treated cats well as they transition into their own afterlives. Many a cat has woken after death to an orange face, a grooming tongue, and a rumbling, bone-deep purr.
Showy psychopomp, he embodies the notion of a Good Death; a death with dignity, comfort, emotional and spiritual wellness, and a feeling of completion. He is a smiling face on the threshold, eager to rub your ankles and welcome you home.

Morel
Whisperer of Poison and Sacrifice
He Who Cannot Let Go Of The Past
Former Clan: PatienceClan, a clan by the sea
Owner: @liatai
Usable?: yes, though ping me because I want to see!
Cat Aspect: a handsome and charming older trans tom, Morel has striking eyes of sunlit ice. A pale grey tabby with dark socks and a dark mask around his eyes, wearing dried herbs in his short coat.
Personality: Charismatic, and a ghost-speaker in life. Fatherly and traditional, holding his own strong moral compass and firmly believing that he did what he did for the future of the clans and his children. Very likeable on a surface level, but prone to acting quickly and ruthlessly on slight dislikes and grudges. Poison is his weapon of choice.
Symbols: death cap mushrooms, false morel mushrooms, mistletoe
Morel was born to a faraway clan, bringing his two sons with him to the sea for a better life after the clan he lived in collapsed. He brought with him his extensive knowledge of medicine, a loving, charismatic, and helpful attitude... and some of the old traditions of his previous clan.
Which no one spoke of much until it was revealed that he killed Dancingkit, only three moons old, by feeding her deathberries. He wasn't even ashamed of it when confronted, reacting with mild surprise when the clan rounded on him for killing a child out of the blue. Did they not feed the earth, here?
A sacrifice is needed, he said with an even tone, like he was describing the right way to wrap a wound. To ensure plentiful prey in the coming moons, every now and then, when the signs were right, it was the medicine cat's duty to guide a cat to the stars and take the body into the woods. Left there, unburied, the sacrifice would be taken by the spirits of the woods, used as nourishment. A kit sacrifice was most favorable, as the spirits fed on the potential of life left within the body. An elder, who had little life left to give, would barely whet their appetite, while a kit would sate them for many moons to come. The spirit floated free within Starclan, he said, so where was the harm? One life, for many seasons of bounty, supporting tens more cats. Really, it was a blessing that brought the kits of that deceased molly to PatienceClan -- kits that had yet to form attachments to anyone. And it was only one, the rest would grow strong and healthy under his watch.
He was shocked when the clan decided that he would be exiled. He left his sons behind, one of his biggest regrets, and lived many moons as a loner again, offering his medicinal aid to any who came by as before. One such passerby brought news to PatienceClan that Morel wished deeply to atone and reunite with his kits, realizing that kit sacrifice was not something PatienceClan did.
In one moon with a nasty greencough outbreak and a deadly lack of medicine cats, the clan tentatively reached out to Morel for aid. And he reciprocated, reuniting with his sons, who still held love for him (and had become a beloved warrior and medicine cat in his absence).
For several seasons afterward, there was peace. Morel was never close with any cat aside from his children, but treated everyone with a smile and gentle paws.
The prey grew sickly one leafbare, however. And while it was clear that PatienceClan did not practice kit sacrifice, the signs became clearer and clearer to Morel. The spirits hungered. Something must be done. It was his duty as a a medicine cat to keep his clan healthy. The burden of sacrifice was one he bore without complaint.
The fact that his target was Badgertumble, a grouchy trans tom who had recently given birth and was making everyone in the medicine den miserable, was irrelevant. So was the fact that Badgertumble had made many growling remarks toward Morel's son Skywhisker as the medicine cat tried his best to treat him. Morel knowingly giving Badgertumble the wrong herbs was plausibly deniable. He made his "error" known, and publicly asked Figstar's forgiveness. The burden would be his alone. He even volunteered to dress the body and ensure its honored resting place, to carry it alone. No touch of suspicion, or the death, would touch Skywhisker, of this he made certain.
Which made it hurt all the more when Skywhisker, his beloved, insightful son, was the one who caught Morel in the act of dragging Badgertumble's body into the forest to feed the spirits.
He tried to make Skywhisker understand, this was for the good of the clan, but his son rebuffed him vehemently -- those traditions died with the old clan for a reason, and they should stay dead. This was no honorable sacrifice, no matter how Morel tried to dress it up. This was murder. Cold-blooded, premeditated murder.
His other son, Lavenderfur, escorted him to the farthest border for his final exile.
He spent the rest of his life watching PatienceClan from afar, still practicing his medicine as a loner, and occasionally sacrificing cats with plausible slip-ups of herbal lore as he deemed fit. Even if the spirits he knew were not here, he reasoned, he was still protecting his sons and their family. Even if he was not understood or welcomed there anymore. He would keep them safe. He would keep the woods flush with prey, the herbs growing with abundance, the dangerous far from where they could hurt his sons, or anyone. Their bodies would do more in death than anything they could do in life. It was just feeding the eternal cycle. It was a medicine cat's duty, after all. Honor, sacrifice, being willing to make the hard choices and walk in the pawprints of death. To choose who to pull from its jaws, and who to guide deeper in. He would do his duty proudly, thanklessly. It was his calling.
While his fate in death is uncertain, PatienceClan treats Morel as a cautionary tale and a Dark Forest spirit. His story warns against complacency in tradition -- to not let "we've always done it this way" or "these were my orders" stand in the way of what is truly right and wrong. To always question when something seems off, to always look for a better way.
He also stands as an example to medicine cats and mediators of what not to do with the trust others place in you and your office. Keep your personal feelings about a cat in your care to yourself, and treat them as any other cat -- and if you cannot, ask someone else to cover for you. Your knowledge can harm just as well as it can heal. Take care that you do not decide to become a vigilante, deciding others' fates without due process or even the knowledge of the impacted parties.
Morel's whispers can be felt in the temptation to make snap judgements, to use poison or other underhanded methods to get your way, and sacrifice others' well-being for your own benefit. "For the greater good" is an intoxicating murmur on the breeze -- one must always inspect it to see if it truly is for the greater good, or just something you're telling yourself to make your actions easier to swallow.
There are sides to every story, however, and Morel's tale is a reminder that no cat is ever fully good or evil. He was a doting father, a favorite of kits in his care, a bastion of herbal knowledge, and when people really needed him, he always stepped up. He was also a coldblooded murderer, a skilled poisoner, a silver-tongued liar, self-righteous in the extreme, and deceitful. These traits coexist. One side cannot blind you to the other.

Author's Note; small shoutout to @forestclan-clangen for inspiration -- when I was shocked by Morel's actions killing Dancingkit and searching for a possible reason, the thought "HE'S TRYING TO FEED THE WOODS" flashed across my brain. And while it's the wrong setting, it DID inspire me to work more on his story! X3
As a bonus, here's Morel without the Dark Forest goop.
Stem
Guardian of the Lost
Everyone's Favorite Herbalist Pseudo-Aunt
Former Clan: PatienceClan, a clan by the sea
Owner: @liatai
Usable?: Yes, but ping me because I want to see!
Cat Aspect: an adult she-cat with a splotchy medium-length tortoiseshell coat, hazel eyes, and a scent touched with oak leaves and dried herbs.
Personality: Ambitious, a talented swimmer. Protective and curious, searching.
Symbols: a tree with bird nests in its branches, a flowering plant laden with seed pods or clusters of flowers, an upside-down dried plant stem with attached seed pods (as though it has been hung to dry)
A former loner who brought her knowledge of healing and the drying of herbs to PatienceClan, Stem never gave birth to kits herself, but her pawprints are in many families by proxy. Often, on her patrols to find herbs, she would happen upon abandoned kits and queens in the midst of harsh kittings, bringing them back to camp for proper treatment and a supportive community. Three of them, she adopted herself and raised, but most found families elsewhere in the clan. She was everyone's favorite medicine aunt.
Some may not know this, but a tree is the stem of a large plant. One stem can support many flowers, which will go on to produce more plants and feed many creatures. One tree trunk can produce many branches, which provide homes and support for hundreds of creatures. One need not birth a kit themselves for them to be your family. One may not even need to be clanborn to find a home within one. Stem's orange spots have been known to glow softly in the afterlife and visions, serving to guide the lost to where they may be found.
Stem died stubbornly searching for burdock root in the middle of leafbare, succumbing to hypothermia. A warm and dry environment is said to welcome the spirit of Stem, and she is sometimes invoked for aid in food and herb preservation, as a lesser aspect to her major family and guidance associations.
Beeschurger
Guardian of Kittypets
Saint of Those Seeking a Home
Former Clan: PatienceClan, a clan by the sea
Owner: @liatai
Usable: yes, though ping me because I want to see!
Cat Aspect: An elderly tom of truly advanced age (221 moons!), with a marbled medium-length pale grey coat and yellow-green eyes. Despite his age, his body appears healthy and filled-out, with a well-groomed coat.
Personality: adventurous, a good hunter and good mediator. Known for appearing kindly.
Symbols: three parallel lines over a curved line (like (||| but turned upside down!)
Beeschurger came to the clan life extremely late, found in the forests wheezing the name of a twoleg who would never come. His time with PatienceClan was short, as his body was wracked with carrionplace disease, but his presence was felt ever after.
Guardian of Kittypets, Beeschurger guides those whose lives among twolegs are poor. The ill, the abused, the suffering, all guided with a soft paw toward a place they can rest safely. Whether that be in Starclan, or among the living, Beeschurger's warmth and skill with social situations has guided many a cat home.
He is known to travel far afield, his nose and instincts leading him to those who need his aid, like Thrush.

Hi! I'm Liatai. I like writing fictional folklore. :3
When I started playing Clangen, I was inspired by the work of Em of @rippleclan . Namely, the practice of keeping the memory of departed clan members alive by naming them Celestials of certain concepts, sort of like saints or ancestor-worship spirits. Living cats would pray to them for favor or protection, or refer to them in relevant stories.
This mightily tickled my muses, so I started doing it for my own clans, naming the departed Guardians of concepts that were relevant to their lives and stories.
I first had the idea of making this blog as a sort of museum or shrine to the Guardians of my Clangen runs past, but then I had a thought. We have a thriving community of Clangen creators on this site. Who among us hasn't had a cat that we loved to bits pass on, never to influence the story physically again? Who hasn't started up a clan and ended up with a cat with ghost sight, a deep Starclan bond, or a deep Dark Forest bond even though nobody but the guide is in the afterlife yet?
Here, you can browse the meadows, gaze at the stars, and peer into the caves below for inspiration, or even to give your cats some pre-made, pre-loved mythic ancestors to look to.
