[modular project] Prototyping
[modular project] Inspiration. “Give an organic shape to a virtual input // interactive heart"
* Jean Paul Gautier’s ateliers * pyramid by aqua creation * cloud-cities by Tomas Saraceno
[team project 1] Presentation days ! We presented our concept in WWF offices to the clients who were really enthusiastic and inspired by our work. The day after, we presented it at the school. #onedone #twotogo !
[team project 1] Glad to present you my first VR app ! It was actually a big challenge for me because I only used Unity a few times before and I’ve never developed a VR application. I encountered a looooooot of bugs and problems but it’s finally here : you land on a menu where you can choose the room you wanna be in with your gaze. Stare at this one during 5 seconds and you will be teleported in the escape game !
[design ethics] We were asked to play several games made by molleindustria. I played Everyday the same dream and found this one very interesting. First you try to go further in the game but you rapidly understand the meaning of the title : there is no escape, everyday is gonna be the same. It’s quite depressing, but very interesting because I really tried everything from the suicide to going at work without my clothes, I was looking for the boundaries of the game, but nothing worked, I’m stuck in my routine forever.
[team project 1] From moodboards to Unity
For this project, I used Unity 3D to interact with our 3D models. Our goal is to virtually immerse the client in our escape game. First, I added a first person camera and now I’m adjusting the lights. Next step —> VR !
[dutch design week] We know how you feel by VPRO Medialab: Very nice project about how to make our feeling visually perceptible using laser lights 👌👌👌
[modular project] Brainstorm again again, never stop sketching !
[team project 1] To give a more immersive preview of our escape game, we decided to develop a VR application with our 3D models. I was in charge of its development since i already used Unity 3D in the past. But when i reopened the software, I noticed that i spent a lot a time to find my feet again. Even the most simple thing I’ve already done took me a lot of time. That’s why, I decided to document every step of my process, adding every tutorials I watched and every bugs i encountered to a ‘toolbox list’, to be faster next time.
[team project 1] Moodboard - Welcome in our serious escape game. To be continued...
[team project 1] Prototyping sprint now ! Let’s create 👊👊👊
[team project 1] From draft to flowchart. For this project, we had to deal with something completely new for us : how to design an escape game ? how to create riddles and linked them in a non-linear way to create an interesting experience ?
[team project 1] For this project, we were asked to come up with two different strategies so the client can choose which one he would like to see prototyped. We proposed the serious escape game and another serious game, real data driven. To help the client in his decision, we built a complete but concise documentation along with visual elements to make it clear. That’s why I made this sketch so the client can picture our escape game.
[chi play 2017] Ian Bogost’s talk. « Play with anything : giving respect to something that doesn’t seem to deserve respect »
[chi play 2017] This week was the chi play event in Amsterdam : workshops, exhibitions, talks about games and HCI and their role in our life. I discovered really nice games such as Bounden by Adriaan de Jongh : this iPhone game has the power to make you dance and move your whole body sticking your thumb on the screen. Really well done 👏👏👏
[workshop] Today, we welcomed Mary Flanagan and we talked about values in video games. Our mission : re invent the Sims with mindfulness as a core value. Then ninja session ! Gooood day 👌
[team project 1] “ Even then you know, I’m sure there is more we can do to improve. [...] So I’m curious what you come out with the rest of your research.” Sanet Nel from Alturna Networks company.
We met this woman to include users’ opinion in our research. We asked what was her point of view about sustainability in companies, how their company act and what kind of tool they would like to have to improve in the future.
