Considerations watching Walker's S2 Trailer

From the trailer of Walker's S2 I could already figure out what the role of Dave Annable will be. His description is:

"Annable will play Dan Miller, Denise's husband, brimming with bravado. Dan is fiercely loyal to the Davidson family and very protective of his wife."

His wife will be the character who will take the position of Liam as DA and the trailer already understands that her father died in a fire saving Cordel's life and since then the Davidson and Walker families have had a strained relationship, I believe that the woman who meets Abeline on the road is the widow of the man who died, and I'm guessing Stella is arguing with someone from the same family, perhaps Dan and Denise's son or daughter.

I believe that this war between families will be one of the plots of S2.

And I think I saw Cordel in the trailer covering a sleeping Geri, I think they will continue to build their romantic relationship.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if Hoyt and Geri ever really loved each other.

I don’t doubt that they cared about each other. I don’t doubt that the word ‘love’ floated between them every now and again over the years. I don’t doubt that Hoyt truly meant every single one of his proposals. And I don’t doubt that, under the right circumstances, Geri might’ve said yes.

I just wonder if that love that existed between them was ever really about the other person or if it was about the sort of idea the other person presented.

Consider this. Their best friends, Cordell and Emily, met young, dated young, married young, and were basically soulmates all the way through. Typically (at least in the stories) we want to be in the same place our friends are at in life. So, Cordell and Emily getting together ultimately leads to Geri and Hoyt giving it a try. Maybe things aren’t as soom as they “should” be but that’s just life, right? Time moves on and Cordell and Emily’s relationship progresses. And Geri and Hoyt’s….doesn’t. They stagnate in this stage where they exist around each other for a while and then Hoyt goes to prison or off on another adventure and then they come back together. Hoyt proposes every time they meet again, and Geri keeps the ring. They’re stuck in a comfortable loop. They’re fine, just Like Cordell and Emily are fine. 

Until they aren’t.

Until Emily dies.

Until Geri kisses Cordell.

Until Geri and Hoyt decide at the same time that they want something different.

I’m not saying Geri and Hoyt didn’t love each other. I’m saying there’s a reason they were together for so long with no progression. I’m saying there’s a reason Geri never took Hoyt’s proposals seriously. I’m saying there’s a reason Geri’s want to change her life happened after she kissed her best friend’s husband.

I can’t help but wonder if Geri hung onto Hoyt all these years because she was waiting for him to turn into Cordell, stable and responsible. I can’t help but wonder if Hoyt hung onto Geri all these years because he was wating for her to turn into Emily, positive and supportive of the love of her life in everything he does.

I think Geri and Hoyt are a cautionary tale on how easy it can be to love the wrong person. Or perhaps love the right person the wrong way.

I believe Hoyt and Geri could have worked if he'd been more responsible, if he'd stopped looking for an easy life in hustling. I think she really loved him, but she gets to a point where she gets tired and even though she likes this person she wants more than the other has to offer. He didn't seem to want to change, she moves on, of course there's a leftover feeling, even from their history, but she moves on. In the meantime, after Emily's death, Geri and Cordel became close and a series of things happened that led them to kiss. Hoyt came back willing to change and this made the situation even more complicated and even though it took a while she told the truth about the kiss, at the worst moment, but she did. And when he went to clarify this story with Cordel the tragedy happened, which was his death. Here we have 2 people, Geri and Cordel who have lost 2 important people in their lives, both in the love field (Geri and Hoyt And Cordel and Emily) and in the friendship field (the 4 were great friends for years) and Geri was present in Emily's death and Cordel in Hoyt's, which makes it more dramatic. It will be interesting to see how Cordel and Geri will develop as a possible couple, with all this issues, here we have rich ingredients to be worked on in a plot that can generate good results. Two great friends starting to love again and move on to build a life together.

Not this season, maybe in the next when we move on from Emily. At this point I’m not sure Geri would be an option because of the strain this will cause.

I see 2 options: Geri is guilty or was part of the situation that caused Emily's death in a vile way, there is no way. Geri knows something concrete and is involved (not directly), not in a vile way, but without asking or being involved for certain circumstances in Emily's death and cannot say anything because she has a force majeure preventing this and when everything is revealed and resolved I suddenly see him and her getting involved.

Maze’s atory arch has literally went no where?? Everyone has evolved, including Lucifer. Unless, of course, he’s speaking with Maze & suddenly they’re back to square one in their dynamic??? Frankly, the writing for Maze is lazy, and I’m disappointed that she would (once again) side with the opposing side over something that could & should be solved with Lucifer & everyone else.

Amenidel said she’s come so far from where she first started. And perhaps she has taken a couple of steps of progression, but has remained stagnant for 3 seasons now.

I would say that Maze was infected by Michael's "fear", the changes are still with her, but Michael managed to affect her more efficiently and easily, because what she most wants is to have a connection with someone, she was already fragile with the abandonment of Eve, Lucifer and the whole story of her mother and to finish off Michael offered her something that could change everything, a soul. I believe that anyone in her place would succumb to having her attitudes.

I see this return from Gabby like Lana Lang's return to Smallville when Clark and Lois were starting to develop feelings for each other, but she only stayed for 3 episodes and then left and never came back, I see the same. Gabby will only be there for a little while, but will be gone in time to see something more coming up between Matt and Sylvie and perhaps bless the future couple.

The way some people act in the Marvel fandom is so funny to me?

I see all of you talking about how Sharon and Natasha "deserved" better. But not too long ago, a lot of you (if not most), were being awful towards them because they were potential love interests to your white boy faves. I'm, honestly, amazed that Emily Van Camp even considered coming back for the show, after the way she was treated.

Not too long ago all of you were up Peggy Carter's ass, saying how amazing she was, until she got that star spangled dick. Now she's a "vintage pussy" and "dead coochie"

To me this is the total inability of some people to not be able to see a woman character with a multidimensional view, that she can be badass, can be sensitive, can be someone's love, all at the same time, without separating her into boxes, limiting her to a stereotype.
