Update 2 on Maxi

It hasn’t even been too long after his appointment this morning but! I’m sitting next to him studying and I hear CRUNCHING AND CHEWING! He’s already starting to eat hay again!! Wow I wonder if the crusties in his ears were the cause of not being able to chew!

Update on Maxi

So I'll try to keep this short and to the point.. Ever since we moved I noticed Maxi's eating habits changed. I noticed he was eating pellets, veggies, and grass as usual but he wasnt eating as much hay as he usually did. Well over the course of the past two weeks he had completely stopped eating any kind of hay I tried to give him. Thankfully still eating other food and drinking but GUINEAS NEED THEIR HAY! So today I took him to the vet and they found some crusties in both ears. They were able to clean one ear out but the other was too deep to safely clean out. They prescribed a pain/anti infammitory med and antibiotic due to thinking his ear canals are bothering him to the point its uncomfortable to chew hay. One med is for the next five days and the other is for the next 14 days. Here's hoping this works and baby gets his normal appetite back.
