Taylor Swift will be adding another trophy to her shelf, as the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame announced Tuesday that the superstar will be inducted into the hall this fall, becoming, at 36, the youngest writer ever to receive the honor.
Swift sent a message to be read by Mark Ford, executive director of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, as he announced this year’s inductees in a livestream.
“From the time I started writing songs as a child, I fixated on Nashville as the perfect place to be,” said Swift in her statement. “I wanted to learn with and from the best and get to immerse myself in a community of storytellers, and thankfully Nashville turned out to be exactly what I’d dreamed of. A town that validated and prioritized hard work, determination and imagination. Where the writers show up to work every day even when the mysterious muses and the magic don’t. To be honored by this city I love so much is a beautiful thing, and I’m very grateful.”
The accolade follows on the heels of Swift having been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York in June, at which point she became the youngest female writer ever to join that hall.
Swift was inducted into the Nashville hall in a category that honors songwriters that have been at it for 20 years or longer, in what, not coincidentally, is the 20th anniversary year for her debut album, “Taylor Swift.”
Also named to the hall as part of Tuesday’s announcement: Lyle Lovett, Shawn Camp, Lee Thomas Miller and Bruce Channel.
“I’m so happy that Taylor Swift finally got a break,” quipped Miller, stepping to the podium at the announcement event to thank the hall. “She needed a win.”
Other nominees this year included Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, Phil Vassar, Jim Beavers, Rodney Clawson, Dallas Davidson, Marv Green, Neil Thrasher and Chris Tompkins.
The hall was established in 1970 and had 254 members prior to this announcement. Last year’s inductees were Emmylou Harris, Brad Paisley, Jim Lauderdale, JJ Cale, Steve Bogard, Don Cook and Tony Martin.
The induction ceremony will take place at a yet-to-be-specified date this fall, Ford said.
“There's still largely, I haven't seen any legitimate photos, really, from the wedding. Like, it's remarkable, there were 1,000 people inside Madison Square Garden. It's the biggest wedding. probably, I've ever anticipated, for sure, and there is really not a lot out there. And I think it's you know, this was obviously an effort by Travis and Taylor to really try to make this as intimate of a moment as possible. And I know they got some backlash for Madison Square. It didn't feel like Madison Square. They did a great job of like, finding an area that could be very secure, that would be someplace that they would be able to have this kind of control over it while also feeling intimate and really special. And it was incredibly done. And as for us, this is kind of the world we've been living in, to be honest with you. We respect the privacy of Taylor, her family, Travis. There is so much interest in what those guys are doing at all times. So, I think that you just get used to it, and you get used to just talking. 'I appreciate you asking, but I'm not really going to go there? "We're excited about it,' and you just kind of give answers like that. And you don't think of anybody asking questions any type of way either, you know what I mean? The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced the 2026 nominees in two contemporary categories, including Taylor Swift and Miranda La
One month after being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Taylor Swift is nominated for induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Swift is vying for induction in the contemporary songwriter/artists category with Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton and Phil Vassar. One inductee will be chosen in this category.
The Nashville SHOF also announced eight nominees in the contemporary songwriters category. Two inductees will be chosen in that category. The honorees will be elected by Hall of Fame members and other professional songwriters and artists.
The entire slate of inductees elected in these and three other categories will be announced in the coming weeks and officially inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame later this year.
“Well-deserved congratulations to all the nominees in our contemporary categories,” NaSHOF executive director Mark Ford said in a statement. “We look forward to announcing those who will be inducted this fall as members of our Class of 2026.”
Since 1970, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame has enshrined 254 “of the greatest writers from all genres of music ever to put words to music in Music City,” as the organization puts it. Operated by the non-profit Nashville Songwriters Foundation, the Hall of Fame is dedicated to honoring Nashville’s rich legacy of songwriting excellence.
As with the Songwriters Hall of Fame, all nominees experienced their first significant songs at least 20 years ago.
Here’s a capsule description for each of the nominees in the two contemporary categories. The information is supplied by Nashville SHOF, supplemented by research into their Grammy histories, if any.
Miranda Lambert: The Texas native is a three-time Grammy winner, though she has yet to win in a songwriting category. (That latter fact will very likely change at the 2027 awards.) Her songwriting credits include her own “Automatic” and “Over You,” as well as “Choosin’ Texas” by Ella Langley. Fun fact: “Choosin’ Texas” has logged 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, longer than any Swift hit to date.
Chris Stapleton: The Kentucky native is a 12-time Grammy winner, including three wins for best country song, for “Broken Halos,” “Cold” and “White Horse.” His other songwriting credits include his own “Starting Over,” as well as “Never Wanted Nothing More” by Kenny Chesney.
Taylor Swift: The Pennsylvania-born, Nashville-raised songwriter is a 14-time Grammy winner, including three wins in songwriting categories: best country song for “White Horse” and “Mean,” and best song written for visual media for “Safe & Sound” from The Hunger Games. Swift’s other credits include her own “I Knew It, I Knew You” and “Love Story,” as well as “Better Man” by Little Big Town. Swift made history at the SHOF ceremony, becoming the youngest woman ever to be inducted and the first past recipient of the Hal David Starlight Award to be inducted.
Phil Vassar: The Virginia native’s songwriting credits include his own “In a Real Love” and “Just Another Day in Paradise,” as well as “Bye, Bye” by Jo Dee Messina.

For days, details surrounding the wedding between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce remained hidden behind a veil of mystery. But now that the lovers’ matrimony has been officially confirmed by their camp, guests are opening up about the event.
Guests, including musicians, directors and more, have started to share their impressions of the nuptials on social media. Two people who were at the star-studded bash exclusively shared with NBC News details on how the extraordinary July 3 night at New York’s Madison Square Garden unfolded — and it certainly sounds as fantastical as many had predicted.
The entire wedding, the guests said, was a “pinch me moment.”
So far, not much about the ceremony has been publicly revealed by the couple themselves. The pair’s representatives said in a statement sent to NBC News that the nuptials were officiated by friend and comedian Adam Sandler. The pair also opted against a traditional wedding party, the statement said. Instead, the musician’s brother Austin Swift served as the “Man of Honor,” while Kelce’s sibling Jason Kelce served as best man.
According to the two who spoke to NBC News, guests first entered the venue and walked through a tunnel that featured photos of Swift and Kelce throughout the years, from childhood through their relationship together. Then, guests stepped into what was the couples’ “Secret Garden, the two people both said.
The ceremony itself, the two guests added, was particularly moving. According to the statement from the couple’s representative, Swift and Kelce wore looks that were created by fashion house Christian Dior Haute Couture. The two guests mentioned that both the bride and groom wore white.
Swift and Kelce personally wrote their own vows, the two guests said. Swift’s vows featured a bit of her singing. And the exchange between the couple elicited tears from those in the crowd, the two attendees said.
“You would think the bride would be the one crying more, but it was actually Travis that was more emotional,” one of the attendees said.
The magic didn’t stop there. The reception was one to remember, with performances from Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks, the two guests said. While Swift did not perform at the wedding, she did so at the rehearsal dinner the night before with Kelce as the couple sang their favorite rock song together, the two attendees added.
The two guests also shared other details, raving about the food that was served that night, which was from the couple’s favorite New York City restaurants. One standout aspect of the wedding was the games that attendees were invited to play, the two guests said. Through the games, people could win tickets to be submitted into a raffle. The two people explained that raffle items — which included multiple designer bags — also featured a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, the storied car that the couple rode together on their first date. It’s unclear who ended up winning the prizes.
Famous attendees — which included Tom Hanks and Jennifer Lopez, according to the two guests — have begun to share snippets from the night to remember as well. Singer Fergie, hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, actress-singer Selena Gomez and others have shared their “Tayvis” wedding day outfits.
Director Joseph Kahn, who socialized with fellow director Steven Spielberg and actress Kate Capshaw, said he had a “wonderful time.”
“What I will say about the wedding was it was so much funnier and emotional than expected, and as big as it was, it also felt very intimate,” Kahn wrote in an Instagram post. “Wishing your beautiful family and future family endless happiness!”
In a July 4 post on X, country star Kelsea Ballerini described the event as “the most beautiful wedding,” adding that she is “still crying and dancing.”
Sportscaster Rich Eisen, who attended with his wife and fellow sportscaster Suzy Shuster, had high praise for the wedding as well.
“Storybook doesn’t do the expression of love we witnessed justice,” Eisen wrote in an Instagram post.
And actress Niecy Nash, who went to the nuptials with her wife, musician Jessica Betts, had one word to sum up the event of the year.
“Wowwwwwww‼️ is the best way to describe it,” Nash wrote on social media. “From beginning to end no detail was spared! Congrats!”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have donated $26 million to at least 20 charities this week, a representative announced, in advance of a wedding reported to be taking place this weekend in New York.
The pair have still not officially acknowledged that nuptials are about to take place, and even the announcement of the charitable efforts does not mention the wedding, though it’s clear that the donations are part of this week’s celebrating.
The 20 charities include a number of food banks in different cities, educational programs and children’s hospitals or medical programs.
The announcement simply says, “This week, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift donated $26 million to charities across the United States. They include the following…”

The first begins Thursday evening at 6 p.m. It is meant for about 100 people, the sources said.
The second begins Friday afternoon with cocktail hour at 4 p.m. The event is not scheduled to end until 4 a.m. Saturday morning and is expected to include about 1000 people, the sources said.
Both will be strict no-phone events for everyone inside the venue, to include guests, vendors and security personnel, according to the sources.
The event company has obtained permits to close portions of West 31 St. and West 33 St. for the duration of the events. Those streets will be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians, the sources said.
There will be tents and canopies erected to prevent the public from catching a glimpse of arrivals and departures, but, at least for the moment, 7th and 8th Avenues will remain open to pedestrians and traffic, the sources said.
