Everytime i get a single item back from gathering turns i like to think its a hatchling helping out and learning how to hunt or gather.
Furthermore imagine the adult dragons not expecting it. Like all the hunters and gatherers line up to put their hauls in the food stores and theres this tiny spiral holding a handful of grass in one paw and a bug in the other and everyone is just so PROUD of the little one.

FR 2013: I hatched 3 triple ice imperials with matching ice eyes and I have a 20 user long wait list for them. Also they are iridescent shimmer circuit because gems are only 1:70 and a week of fairgrounds paid for the genes! EVERYONE LOVES TUNDRAS
FR 2017: I can spend $20 for a butterfly scroll because it's easier than saving 2 million treasure. Wildclaws don't exist. I exalted a triple obsidian. It was only 10k. The deities are dead and we killed them. My family is starving. I caught a bug today
Cause like, that’s the weird thing with games that are bare-bones in lore or self-insertionary, they really blur the lines of what is “fanfic” and what is “original work”
Like. The lore I write, and anyone else writes, is primarily made of Original Characters in Original Situations and Original Plots, draped hap-hazardly over the bones of this pixel dragon dress-up game, and sometimes barely even that. The lore community of Flight Rising is, arguably, 98% pure, original content.
And yet despite this, that 2% tethering it to the source material forces it to be classified as “fanfiction”. Any one of us could, theoretically, file the serial numbers off and walk away with an Original Thing. It’s such a weird liminal state of being for a story, and I never quite know what to make of it.
I got a blight nymph and some ice skin. the blight isn’t my fav. I want that gorgeous scrolly black nymph, but I also want some recolored clothes.
Anyone currently selling lore babies? I’d love to buy some >:)
Well the lore isn’t written down, but tomorrow I’m hatching a nest of my clan’s necromancer and one of the scouts/guards who is also the daughter od the elder of the Natum Faction, which I haven’t quite figured out what they do xD (its the group of dragons that were born on my birthday. Do they have special powers?? Who knows....)
