#10yearchallenge
Rather than looking at myself, I find it more interesting to see the increase in quality of clay work. I have been working with plasticine for 10 years, and I’m just now starting to get the hang of it.
WIP: Albert III I’ve begun work on my series: On the Shoulders of Animals. The history of space travel is filled with animals - many of which were killed in-flight or in the attempt to achieve flight. Stay up to date on this project with day to day posts on my Instagram, @clayalchemist

The Stella redux is coming along nicely...
The original sculpture was less than 8″ tall and might have weighed two pounds. The new sculpture is over 2 feet and 30 pounds!
Looking forward to making Stella full-size staring tomorrow. The detail is going to be exquisite.

Bagel Bear
Nothing warms his heart like hugging a bunch of bagels, hot from the oven.
A behind the scene look at how I quickly stippled The Claw.
Going large scale recently. Finished illustration here.
Sigma Art 135mm
This is Fred. He takes the art of neck massages very seriously. His gentle claws can shed any crustacean of their shabby old shells and make them feel new again.
It’s yoga time!
I enjoyed watching artist, Jesse Wallace, at work this past week at GR Makers.

I’d love to talk with other artists and makers in Grand Rapids, so hit me up if you're interested.
Out photographing the dog when it is below zero. Thanks, Michigan.
Watch out. Horny toad is coming to town.
