“ oh thank the gods. “ a sigh of relief left the male’s lips, the tension that had built up in his shoulders released almost immediately when the girl said she could pull it off. they could push back the start of the ceremony if they needed to for a couple minutes if they really needed to. the reception timeline wasn’t too tightly packed so they could afford to lose some of that time if anything. “ oh that’s fine, i was going to offer to anyways. “ seojun smiled, unbuttoning the sleeves of his shirt to roll them up to his elbows. “ i work part time at a floral shop… not this one. my manager would NEVER forget the bouquets for a wedding. “ he added on quickly. it still baffled him on how the florist had managed to forget such an important piece. “ raining on your wedding is supposed to be a sign of good luck and fertility. the hindus believe it means that your marriage will be a strong one. “ he smiled, fingers working on their own accord, far too use to the situation. “ i’ll be fine once these are done and they’re in my mom’s hands. besides the rain everything has gone extremely smoothly thank goodness. “ he said, laughing lightly.
minji could feel the lightened tension in the room after having mentioned she could do the job. she didn’t mind rush jobs at all anyway and with the confirmation of his help, she wasn’t worried in the slightest; especially when he mentioned he worked part time in a floral shop. that only meant there would be less finishing touches she may have to correct, if any at all, unlike any time she would ask her brother to help her (hence the need for laminated instructions). her eyes brightened at the comment of wedding culture with Hindus; she was happy to know now as she’d always thought otherwise, ❝ then i suppose it’s not a shame after all, and actually a blessing. ❞ a short chuckle emerged from her lips. ❝ so tell me.. ❞ she started, trying to find a way to not sound rude, but she just happened to notice his defined forearms in addition to his looks, he just didn’t seem the type to be in the wedding industry. ❝ what brought you into working for the wedding industry? i don’t mean to come off as rude, you just.. Don’t look like most of the people i see. ❞

he has to say this is a first for him; he’d never had a random dog come up and help themselves to his meal but he guessed that’s what one got when they sat their food on a bench within dog reach. “ you really don’t … “ he started to say as he scratched the dog behind the ears, before staring at the card handed to him. it took a moment for his brain to commute to his hands, the free one not paying attention to the dog taking the small business card from him and reading it. it was the first of its kind in the apology route he’d ever gotten and while he was hardly a… whatever you called someone who made ceramics, it sounded like fun. “ no that doesn’t sound lame at all! “ he said quickly, looking up at the other. “ that’s actually really cool. i’ve never actually met a, “ youngjae paused, brow furrowing as he tried to come up with the proper name. “ ceramicist? that’s what you’re called right? “ he asked curiously, turning slightly to give the pup more attention. “ i would love to check it out one day. i’ll request it off if i need to. “ he said, returning the other’s smile, pulling his phone out of his back pocket and sticking the card between his phone and case to keep from losing it. “ oh, i’m youngjae by the way. i feel like we should at least know each other’s name since your dog ate my lunch. “ jae chuckled holding his hand out to the other.
the words ‘your dog ate my lunch’ really resonated with joo-won regardless if the stranger, well youngjae, felt it wasn’t a big deal. though a small amount of relief waved over him as his art was validated. not many quite understand that art is so important in the world. and as a ceramist, it was joo-won’s passion, his life; not to mention it brought him so much joy. ❝ uh- yes! i’m a ceramist, you have it correct. i’ve been at it since i was young so i feel very lucky. i promise you will have a lot of fun! you can be as creative as you want and also the regulars in the glass are great!! ❞ there was a light in joo-won’s eyes, partly because he spoke of his passion, and partly because milk seemed to be having the time of his life as he gained attention from the new human. joo-won saw the former stranger’s outstretched hand in his peripheral, taking youngjae’s hand and clasping it between both of his own followed by a short bow, ❝ joo-won! ❞ he replied without a single thought of forming a correct sentence. ❝ i’m joowon, and that’s milk. it’s really nice to meet you. ❞

as much as he may love his job, young-jae learned very early on that he could not eat if he stayed there during his break. if it wasn’t someone nagging him about needing help, it was somebody nagging him for a bite to eat. not far from where the restaurant sat ran a river with a little walking path; benches were scattered throughout the path for people to enjoy so more often than not he found himself enjoying his longer breaks by the waterside. with his headphones secured snugly in his ears, the entire world has been blocked out. long legs stretch out in front of him as he relished in the nice weather they’d been graced with and his lunch long forgotten next to him. he never really found himself legitimately hungry when he was getting off work for a break or even to go home, but knew if he didn’t eat he would be a hellion later on when his stomach was screaming at him mid-dinner rush. reaching out to grab his lunch, he’s surprised to feel something soft, a voice calling out to him at the same moment. turning his head, he can’t help but laugh. “ don’t worry about it ! “ he said, shoulders shaking as he tried to compose himself. “ it’s not a big deal. i hope they enjoyed it. “ he chuckled.
❝ aish-! ❞ milk squirmed in joo-won’s arms, urging to return to the bench for more food and attention from the stranger. managing to be released, he jumped back to the bench, tiny paws resting on the stranger’s thigh. ❝ well if i can’t make it up to you with more food, how could i... ❞ he paused a moment to gather his thoughts; this was a stranger after all, he probably wouldn’t ever see him again. but an idea struck him, reaching into his back pocket and pulling out a well used leather wallet. from an area within it, he pulled out a business card; while he doesn’t hand them out often, he would usually keep a couple with him when he goes out, just in case. he held the card out to the stranger, ❝ here ❞ he offered ❝ my sister and i own a floral and ceramics shop. i teach ceramics classes and while i know it sounds lame, it’s actually pretty fun. i’ll let you take a class for free. the dates i teach are on there so just give me a call whenever you want to come by and i’ll save a spot for you! if you want to that is.. ❞ a boyish and boxy smile grew on joo-won’s lips, hoping the stranger would take him up on the offer. it was the only way he wouldn’t feel totally bad for his dog eating the stranger’s food.

rainy days made already stressful wedding days even more stressful. what was SUPPOSED to be a beautiful outdoor ceremony was being traded in for a last minute switch indoors after the clouds had opened up above them, mid-setup and hadn’t stopped since. the bride-to-be was in hysterics, and to top it all off, the florist had somehow managed to pack up everything except the bouquet. stressed out herself, seo-jun’s mother had tasked him with the job of finding a replacement bouquet as quickly as possible. slipping into the nearest flower shop, he glanced around the small shop. he hadn’t even heard what the girl had said, too focused on trying to figure out whether or not they had what he was about to request on hand. “ bouquets. “ he said, pulling his phone out from his back pocket and approaching her. “ uh, specifically white lilies. “ scrolling through his photos he pulled up an image to show to her. “ can you make this within an hour? i know it’s asking A LOT but we’re desperate and willing to pay whatever to get it done. “
it took minji a moment to really comprehend what was happening with the man before her seeming to be wildly stressed and breathless. but what she did realize was that he seemed to miss her comment about her brother while in his haste. as he pulled out his phone and faced it to her, she took a moment to lean in, humming softly to herself before nodding. ❝ i absolutely can do that, but an hour may be cutting it close, so it looks like you’ll have to help me out. ❞ she finished with a friendly smile. it wasn’t so much of a suggestion, but rather a statement that he absolutely would have to help. with her brother still out (for what she assumed to be because of the rain) there was no way she could finish the allotted amount of bouquets within that time frame. she stepped away for a moment to gather her supplies, stepping around from the register counter and bringing everything she needed to her work bench. ❝ all i’ll really need you to do is tie the ribbons around. and i even have a guide for it to make it easy on you. ❞ she pulled a laminated piece of paper with said ribbon tying instructions before starting on the bouquets herself. ❝ it’s a shame to be rained out on the wedding day… but try not to stress too much, you’ll get wrinkles early. ❞

with a bag pack full of treats for his siblings , he is eager to go home and see their cheery little grins . it would be easier to just look away . everyone around them seems to have done it . he should be able to do it easily . he managed to walk pass them but groaned at how he is unable to resist himself from helping everyone around him . “ hey , are you okay ? do you need help with those ? they look pretty heavy and i don’t think you’d want them broken . ”
min-ji blamed herself really, not knowing how a week ago she managed to be too tired to realize that she sent the shipment of joo-won’s clay supplies and some supplies for herself to their home and not the shop. even though it was clearly her mistake, her brother was generally the one to unload the shipments since he was a lot stronger than her. honestly, she didn’t know what she was thinking to try and bring the supplies from their home to the shop herself. and sure, she took a cab most of the way, but the traffic was so awful she just couldn’t wait ; joo-won was at the shop himself teaching a class, she couldn’t not be there. she was regretting of course leaving the cab, perhaps the shop would have been fine. and at this point there were only a couple of blocks left for her to go. until she heard a voice, which she could only assume was speaking to her as she was probably the only one dumb enough to carry a few boxes, one way too heavy, as her dainty arms were on the brink of collapse. she broke her concentration, raining her head to the direction of the voice, almost with relief but also guilt. ❝help … would be really nice thank you. that is … if you don’t mind of course. i’m only a couple blocks up. it’s just the bottom box that’s the heaviest. i can manage the other two.❞

joo-won would often find most of his inspiration on the walks he would take on his breaks from the shop, and today was the perfect day. the sun shone brightly, though the heat wasn’t overbearing which was joo-won’s favorite type of weather, and he was so sure that it was his dog, milk’s favorite weather too. joo-won liked to walk close to the river, milk prancing just a foot in front of him. joo-won could find himself humming as a gentle breeze carried the smell of the food carts his way. his stomach rumbled at which milk barked, though it was probably just a coincidence. stopping for just a moment to contemplate what he wanted to snack on (and what to bring back to his sister), he felt a tug on his shoelace, where he found milk biting at to signify he was upset they stopped. joo-won cooed to the dog, stopping and kneeling for a moment to tie his shoe. what joo-won didn’t realize was that the dog jumped onto the bench they stopped next to and began to eat food set down for a moment by an unsuspecting stranger. joo-won looked up at a startled ‘hey!’ rushing to stand and scoop his dog into his arms. ❝ahh, i’m so sorry about that. he’s pretty quick if you’re not looking. i can get you another one if you want ??❞

rainy days for the shop were slower, hardly any foot traffic since no one would go out of their way to buy pottery or flowers on a dreary day. but min-ji didn’t mind so much, in fact she quite enjoyed the sound of the drops against the window to accompany the soft shop music as she read a book on horticulture. she was also grateful to joo-won who so graciously “volunteered” to make the run to grab more snacks for them since he ended up eating most of them while he kept himself busy in the back playing on his pc in between creating his pottery pieces. she was hoping that maybe he’d bring lunch too. min-ji would soon find out anyway as the sound of the bell from the shop door cut through the tranquil air of the shop. ❝ joo-won, you’re finally back ! i hope you brought lunch with you . . ❞ she spoked, a teasing tone in her voice as her gaze lifted from her book. but embarrassment soon sank in her stomach as the man she was looking at was, in fact, not joo-won. ❝ Oh gosh i’m so sorry, i thought you were my brother. welcome to clay dahlias, is there something i can help you with ? ❞
