At the launch of her latest exhibition, emerging artist Clarke Griffin should be celebrating. Instead, she feels homesick for a future where the windows have been boarded and the porch light already turned off. Another Medieval Fantasy Cursed Clexa AU

King Jacob has died in a mysterious accident leaving his only child, his 17-year old daughter, Clarke as his heir. With his wife Abigail overcome with grief, Lord Thelonious, Jacob’s closest advisor, steps in and announces he will act as regent until Clarke comes of age. 

Ignored in her own loss, Clarke takes to wandering the grounds, often escaping her royal guard just to be free from the suffocating confines of her world.

Losing herself in the woods, Clarke finds herself in peril by a strange beast that prowls the forest. She makes a narrow escape, but not before injuring her leg in a short fall.

After tumbling down a bramble-strewn ravine, Clarke finds herself in a part of the forest she doesn’t recognize: the colors seem deeper and richer here, the smells fresher and cleaner. She would be charmed by it all if she weren’t injured and lost.

Propping herself with a fallen branch, she follows what looks like an old path only to stumble upon the remains of an ancient keep and meets it’s sole occupant: a mysterious figure in hunter’s clothes who rarely speaks and makes it clear she wants no company…especially the heir of the clan that destroyed her own.

With great reluctance, the hunter tends to Clarke’s injury with the promise she will send her on her way when she can walk.

What they learn of one another, their history, and the spark of attraction between them, promises to rend the very fabric of their world. For better or worse, or both, only time will tell.
