josh ruben game changer meltdown
Had a fire at home so I called the fire brigade, who showed up and decided to help by all merging into one single being like the people in Together
Hopefully this will in some way help
Wanted to test out the custom paintings feature in Paralives but one of the few suitable images I have saved on my computer was this picture of Roast Beef from Achewood. So now they just own this I guess
I think a lot of people who are complaining about the lack of content in Paralives are forgetting just how fucking bare bones the sims 4 was at launch.
for example:
and Sims 4 wasn't even Early Access, that was just the official launch. Paralives at least tells you how incomplete it is before you buy it.
Someone somewhere out there is already working on the first nude mod for Paralives. It's just how the internet works. It'll be available before the end of the week, just watch
Putting the term "industry plant" back on the shelf until you people learn what it actually means
Paralives has a lot of neat ideas but I wouldn't jump in right now unless you actually want to take part in bug fixing and watching the game grow.
From how regular the developers seem to post on Patreon I imagine it will get fairly regular updates and won't be the kind of early access where you don't hear anything for six months. Which is good
I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a few new ideas that aren't taken from The Sims or other games at all. The cards system for dialogue is neat, it just needs more options which will probably come in time. The perks system for jobs and levelling up is a great idea.
This is what the genre needs, not just doing everything The Sims does but also having new ideas and experimenting.
But it also is incredibly unfinished at the moment. Characters constantly get stuck in the scenery. Child characters have no voices, and in dialogue they keep the getting the option to ask other children if they're single. There's only one world and it's tiny. You can't invite your friends over, you have to chase them around the map if you want to talk.
Obviously I knew it was early access, I'm not complaining that it's unfinished. I knew what I signed up for. I'm just saying if you don't want to participate in testing and just want a Sims alternative... give it some more time in the oven, it's not done yet.
I read that early access is planned to last two years and I would be surprised if it doesn't take longer, there's a lot left to do. But as long as it gets done eventually that's not a huge deal.
Anyway I'm glad it's getting support because I think it's gonna be a great game eventually
Some of the discussion about this game is crazy. People could be more reasonable
On the one hand, if you've been saying you want a Sims competitor, you should probably be willing to put your money where your mouth is and support a game even if it doesn't come out immediately perfect. This is a big undertaking for a small team, and doing it in early access is probably the only way it could work
On the other hand, it's totally fair for people to criticise the game as it is now and give fair reviews. It is buggy and lacking in content, it's OK for people who've spent their money on it to point that out. It's OK to not buy now if you'd rather wait a little longer.
You're not going to get a decent Sims rival if you reject anything that doesn't immediately have all the same features as The Sims 4 (a game that has been in active development for at least 13 years and is made by one of the world's largest video game publishers)
But equally you're not going to get anything decent if people don't feel they can share reasonable criticisms of a product that the developers have put up for sale. It's early access but people should know what they're getting. The developers probably don't want fans sending hate mail to anyone who leaves a negative review
absolute gold on Reddit today

I saw discussion about the "new ace flag" and tried to search for it but all I got was posts about Assassins Creed Black Flag
Which honestly I'm not mad about and it made me think: what if ace pirate flag? is there an ace jolly Roger floating around somewhere?
I'd rather have my lawyer admit I did the crime.

Lou Wilson is an absolute comedic genius
How it feels watching your tumblr mutuals engage in discourse about fandoms you've never heard of
I hate when someone replies "This." to your comment but then adds something you really don't agree with
"I don't think this show is quite as good as it used to be."
"This. It's complete dogshit now and the creators should all be killed"
Now hold on there pal, that is absolutely not what I said
