That Cyrus had managed to follow Therion for so long without being discovered was both miraculous and unintentional. The scholar had only tried to be sneaky out of respect for Therionâs own carefulness; if Therion though it necessary to remain silent, it stood to reason so should Cyrus. Sadly, this meant he had accidentally concealed himself entirely, leading to a most unexpected confrontation.
âI followed you!â Cyrus explained in an almost painfully earnest manner, not thinking how Therion might react to being followed in the first place. âYou seemed to be on your way off to doing something exciting, so I thought I would keep you company. Ah, but by the time I noticed you, I was a ways behind, so it took me some time to catch upâŠâ
He sighed. Of course it was too much to ask that the two of them shared a fun evening together⊠Well, no matter, Cyrus thought. I am here now and should try and make the most of it.
Although, upon looking around, he was less and less sure this was a fun sort of place. The look of apprehension on his face deepened into worry, and worry into fear.
    âTherion⊠where exactly are we?â
No, he had self-restraint. He wasnât going to strangle the man, no matter how much he really wanted to. âIâm impressed you were entrusted with tutoring the royal family with how fucking dumb you can be sometimes, Professor Albright,â Therion hissed, because he still wasnât exactly sure if there were monsters in this place.Â
He hadnât wanted anyone to follow him, because it was going to be dangerous, he went better alone, and now he had to take care of another person. âTo answer your question, I was coming in here to find out what this place was, but now thanks to you weâre trapped in here with no lights!â
Well, Therion could cradle a little fire magic in his hand, and that was helping supplment the meagre sun shining into cracks in the stonework. âYou ever been tomb raiding before?â
