Who would win in a fight
John Constantine
Doctor Stephen Strange
2012 Avengers was the best Avengers era and I stand by that.
It gave us Air Vents Clint Barton, Pop Tarts Thor, Coulson Lives fics, and so many more awesome stuff revolving around the life in Avengers Tower that I get sad every time I remember none of it was real because they decided the only option was for them to fight all the time.
You get it.
This is exactly what Superman stands for.
Superman was created by two second-generation Jewish immigrants in the 1930s.
He was created to represent Jewish refugees, partially-assimilated immigrants, and orphan refugees. They couldn’t admit it at the time or he would never have been popular.
Whoever Little Light is they understand Superman far more than the majority of people.
Superman is the hardworking Hispanic immigrant who has developed a taste for apple pie.
The Muslim who plays baseball between prayer calls.
Every immigrant who still speaks their own language at home.
This is perfect and I love you for it.

Honestly I’d love a story where the folks at the Daily Planet reveal they knew Clark Kent was being squirrelly about his ID but they checked his legal records, assumed he was just an undocumented immigrant from elsewhere on Earth, and respected/protected his privacy and safety.
They’re all investigative journalists or whatever. Maybe the knew Clark was being evasive and facts weren’t adding up and he didn’t need those glasses but figured it was just to hide from La Migra and chose not to look into it further. Mystery solved. He’s a decent guy, lay off.
In the modern era of the Internet and all, it makes way more sense. And it establishes them as competent and kind. “You think he’s *Superman*? Shoot, no, step into Perry’s office for a minute, keep your voice down, we can explain. We checked up on all of this a while ago.”
Why doesn’t he ever do the employee physical? Why is he always running off to take care of vague stuff without good explanation? Why does he claim to be from “Smallville,” which is obviously made up, and never mentions any relative but his parents, who don’t look like him?
Whenever there’s the kind of crisis where the police would show up, Clark’s nowhere to be found. He never goes to the doctor. He’s so shy. He works so hard and never really has anyone over to his place. And we all choose to leave it at that, because we care about him.
What does a quiet, hardworking, hyper-polite guy who knows a lot about farm work look like to you? A guy who pays a lot of attention to when sirens go off? Who has secrets, but never seems to do anything unethical or wrong, who is an exaggeratedly model citizen? Just saying.
Maybe Clark doesn’t even know this is why his secret identity has been working this well, because nobody wants to freak him out, until a Dreamer intern or something gives him a friendly “You secret’s safe with me, brother, we’ve got to look after each other” at the copy machine.
And then you get a story of Clark finding community and kinship and solidarity with all the human beings whose parents also sent them, with desperate hope, from catastrophe-wrecked homes to somewhere there might be a better life, who understand him better than maybe anyone else.

Have you finished Secret invasion yet?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I have not =(
I know Rhodey’s in it so I’m tempted to go back but also I’m pretty burned out on the MCU =/
so anyway the mcu never made any content past endgame 🤷🏾
This photo is my only personality trait and I refuse to seek help
You can’t have just one half of this!
Metropolis has one of the least corrupt police departments in the DCU, because some sneaky bastard reporter who looks like a nerdy lumberjack keeps sniffing out and exposing all the racists in the department. (This is because Superman, while not always listening, can always hear when one of them to start saying racist things and once he does he immediately starts investigating as Clark.)
Who watches the watchers? Some hulking bespectacled doofus, apparently.
Imagine being at a peaceful political protest in Metropolis and the cops are showing up in full body armor and then Superman arrives, and you’re like, oh, shit, hes here to break up the protest but then he lands and joins it??? And he keeps lecturing the cops?
“These people have the right to free assembly!” he says while brandishing a copy of the Metropolis Legal Code. You’re not sure where he got it. He wasn’t carrying it when he landed, he’s got no pockets—was he storing it up his butt?
One of the cops shoots a tear gas canister into the crowd and you have a moment of fear before confusedly worrying whether it would even effect Superman
Turns out it doesn’t, because the canister lands and he just. Eats all the tear gas.
He keeps calling out individual cops by name. “Hey Ken! Does your mother know you’re shooting at unarmed children? Should I tell her next time I see her at Bibbo’s?”
Some brave yet dickish reporter asks him whether his mother knows he’s advocating against rule of law and he just smiles that goofy, inviting smile of his and goes “my mom was arrested 12 times back in the late 70s. She thinks I should be throwing punches.”
Im sorry superman can eat tear gass? Wtf i i never watched superman. This is wild
It’s more that he inhales it, but yeah, his canonical first response to seeing any kind of toxic or harmful gas is “breath it in, because my lungs are invulnerable and yours aren’t”
That said, your provided visual is hilarious
everyone needs to stop portraying constantine as DC’s resident demon fucker. expand ur minds. it’s definitely Zatanna
My favourite cosplays of my babies
Gatz Cosplay as Constantine🚬
Meagan Marie as Zatanna🎩
“I’m getting new ones made.”
John Constantine is a character, I think, that relies heavily on context. The quirky panels from 2010s Justice League comics really convey very little about who he is; of course people are going to think he’s a quippy monsterfucker. His original comics are rich with his political outlook, class status, and trauma, all of which I think are super important to fully grasp who he is.
Basically, stop relying on stale biphobic stereotypes and dumb lines from Injustice to inform you on who John is, and start reading Hellblazer, lmfao.
In Love with these scene ***
k why is this gif the funniest shit i’ve ever seen it makes me feel like i’m entering another plane of reality
ok guys I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this gif since I saw it and I just need to unpack its various elements for a second:
1. the central tension of this scene, obviously, which is thor realizing jeff goldblum dicked down his kid brother
2. the fact that jeff goldblum either apparently never learned how to wink OR is trying and failing to bat his eyelashes
3. the way loki opens his mouth as if to try to explain himself to thor and then looks back at jeff goldblum and decides, nah, we’re good, there’s no coming back from this one
4. the fact that whoever made this gif decided this scene wasn’t hysterical enough on its own and added dramatic telenovela zooms
5. the combined effect of all of these elements being that not only can I not stop thinking about this gif but also I hear the kill bill siren whenever I look at it
6. The fact that the characters involved are listed as ‘Thor’, ‘Loki’, and ‘Jeff Goldblum’.
