OMG, it was outrageous! 

Upon arriving, I received a swag bag that included a VIP lanyard and a T-shirt.  I met Violet Chachki, Miss Fame, Courtney Act, Adore Delano, Ginger Minj, Alaska, Phi Phi O’hara and Michelle Visage.  They were all adorable and sweet and kind and funny.  It was really loose and relaxed, all of us just hanging out in the lobby of the theater.  I felt bad because it was kind of warm and all of the girls were fanning themselves.  I got pictures of myself with everybody.  Miss Fame asked if she could take the photos herself to make sure the lighting was right!  Michelle Visage apologized for getting her “boob glitter” on me when we hugged. Basically, I died.

After the meet and greet, they opened the theater itself. I was front row, center stage and got a lot of terrific shots, which I’ll share here in spurts.  Although, I kept getting pushed pretty roughly and almost fainted due to lack of oxygen from being pushed against the barricade by rude jerks.  I had to go to the lobby and sit down for about fifteen minutes, so I lost my spot. (Which I paid $300 for and had to work to get.  Harumph.)

The show itself was great!  I could NOT have asked for more.  Michelle was hilarious!  There was a “fashion review”  segment where girls came out wearing signature looks from the show, and Alaska came out wearing an imitation of Cynthia Lee Fontaine’s roller girl outfit while she pretended to shakily skate around the stage. Ginger Minj is incredible live and did a hilarious “Hello” performance that had me in stitches. Miss Fame sang Rubber Doll. Snatch Game was AH-MAZING!!!  Courtney Act played a southerner from the United States and totally ripped into the bigots currently trying to prevent civil rights for LGBTQAI folks in this country. She gave me LIFE.  Violet did a beautiful strip tease which allowed me to get some great shots of her booty.  There was a Rocky Horror medley that was perfect.  Michelle closed the show with a really moving version of Madonna’s “Take a Bow” while a slideshow of civil rights activism played behind her.  I cried.

After the show, they cleared all non-VIPs out and all of the girls came back out onto the stage.  The VIPs got called onto the stage one by one to sit with the queens and have a final group photo taken.  And finally we were all given a poster signed by every one of the girls.  All in all, it was awesome!
