Generally, a pathway begins somewhere and leads to somewhere else, that is what they are for, the reason for their existence. If they did not do this they would not be there.

Paths may be travelled just to see where they go, but the destination is often far less interesting than the journey itself. Sometimes not following them to their end can remove the chance of disappointment, and introduce a little mystery to life.

Worn into the earth by countless feet, this footpath runs in a south westerly direction from old docks at Lydney. For a time it follows the river before turning inland towards the forest.

XV The Hanged Man ODIN hung upon the branches of Yggdrasil, the sacred Tree. For nine days and nine nights he suffered. Self wounded by his spear, sacrificed by his hand, an offering unto himself. In agony and torment he stared into the bottomless depths of Niflheim, searching the dark pool in silence. Finally, with great effort, he reached down before him. His hand was chilled to the bone in the ice cold waters. With a cry of triumph he grasped the knowledge he sought - the Sacred Runes, their magic and their power. He took the Runes and he used them well. He carved them upon the shaft of his spear; he carved runes upon all things. By this means he obtained power over all.

A leather wallet cover

This is the cover for a leather wallet. The dragon design has been hand carved in leather, the coloured using oil dyes.

This is a commissioned piece I made for a poet performer. A Green Man mask handmade in leather. I usually make masks from a single piece of leather, to cover the face but not the chin. However, on this occasion the client was looking for a full face mask, so this one has an additional chin piece.
