Generally, a pathway begins somewhere and leads to somewhere else, that is what they are for, the reason for their existence. If they did not do this they would not be there.
Paths may be travelled just to see where they go, but the destination is often far less interesting than the journey itself. Sometimes not following them to their end can remove the chance of disappointment, and introduce a little mystery to life.
Worn into the earth by countless feet, this footpath runs in a south westerly direction from old docks at Lydney. For a time it follows the river before turning inland towards the forest.
