Hello!
There's no maximum length for fic as long as your draft is done, only needing minor edits, by November 15th and fully posted by December 31.
It's also worth keeping in mind, that if you're hoping to be matched with a beta through the event, you should include in your story details if you expect your fic to be particularly long :)

In reference to the story needing to be complete/finished in December, can we please clarify what that means? Does the story need to come to an ending like we would expect in a book, or does that mean finished/complete as in edited but no actual termination point, etc? A couple of us are overthinking this and need a sanity check!

By finished we mean a full fic. You don't need to write an ending that wraps up everything, open endings are completely fine, but it should be done.
It can't be the first 4 chapters of an 8 chapter story.

Unfortunately that isn't possible for this event. We see matching writers and artists as a key part of what makes Big Bangs what they are, connecting people who otherwise might never have created together.
