Favourite Rick Sanchez moments;
Ā Ā Ā Ā 1/?
{ Oh how he could relate. How many times had he felt out of place? Living up to Harryās standards? Of course heād failed. He wasnāt capable of being so virtuous and selfless fuck knows how Harry did it. He made it seem easy and yet Lucien knew that underneath it all was a child trapped choking for mercy, never having been able to live. It was sad really and when science became involved? Even worse. } āThis is gonna sound strange but trust me. If anyone can understand. Itās me. Iāve never had a childhood either. I was created, kinda like you, kinda not and Xavier? Where do you think my telepathy comes from?ā { Tapping his temples, he offered the stranger a rare smile, self-conceit almost gone. Charles Xavier had always been a weakness but this man? Oh this man was more familiar than a babyās lullaby. They were few he could connect with. }
āJust donāt call me my friend. He does that. Nameās Lucien, just Lucien. Like you I donāt even possess a last name.ā
Someone who understood him, that wasnāt something heād expected. So many looked to the clone as the man he was meant to be, expecting his every word to pour out in the same manner as the original, yet what they found instead was just a quiet young man with an uncannily familiar face. He had his own thoughts, his own opinions, and he wouldnāt pretend to be someone he wasnāt. It was a rarity to come across someone who understand that.
āItās... reassuring to know that someone understands, all-be-it rather fascinating at the same.ā Chuck smiled slightly, admittedly curious about the other manās admission, but he had a feeling they could touch up on that subject more at a later time.
He wasnāt about to let such rare common ground be lost.
āAh, yes, sorry.ā He replied, realising that he may have picked up one or two traits here and there that were similiar to Charles. āWould I be right in presuming that you know him well? Aside from your telepathy deriving from him, did you know him personally?ā
āI have a feeling you are most definitely someone, myĀ friend.ā A puzzled look spread across Charlesā face as he tried to figure out this stranger who not only had Charlesā face, but his name, too. In addition, it seemed this manĀ had recognised Charles on sight.Ā āItās a pleasureā¦Ā Charlie.ā He extended an arm towards him, unsure if his doppelgƤnger would accept the handshake.Ā āBut howĀ exactly do you know me?ā
Admittedly, the young clone was hesitant in his response, but he saw no reason to be rude to the man, he couldnāt blame him for something heād had absolutely no control over. ā-- - you too... Charles.ā He greeted with a firm shake of the telepathās hand. āIf weāre going to go down that road, Iām going to need a drink, and preferably something a little stronger than tea.ā
āI wouldnāt say surprise exactlyā¦.ā { It made sense. Charles was a telepathic genius, one of the most powerful mutants in the world. If there was going to be a copy of anyone made it was him, not that that thought comforted him. More eyes to avoid. More prying attempts to get into his mind. They were all the same. Their efforts futile but relentless, wouldnāt they ever get the message? } āCharlie? Like for real? Okay, okay. Iāll call you Chuck; it sounds less cringe-worthy.ā { Sympathy crossed his expression as the man spoke of being different, seeing the questions behind his eyes. Of course he would be curious; that was the problem, it was rare for them having to bother do anything but delve into someoneās mind. Lucien must be a rarity to them, an enigma they could never fully understand. }
āSo youāre basically an alter-ego? Not a clone? You just have the same physical appearance?ā
Charlie didnāt like this, he didnāt like being put in the limelight, his entire existence had become something of a typing error, ever trying to evade the original Charles Xavierās shadow that never seemed to cease itās heavy loom over his head. He wasnāt Charles, and he was tired of his every action, his every word being compared to someone else, to someone he didnāt want to be.
He was Charlie, just Charlie.
āThanks...ā He managed with slightly furrowed brows, although he could somewhat understand. If the stranger knew the telepath, there would be some kind of history there. He just didnāt know whether it was good or bad.
āI... I suppose you could say that.ā The clone agreed with a slight shrug of his shoulders, heād never really given it a great deal of thought, never opting to put a term or title on himself. He was a clone, he was a mutant, a telepath, that was enough.
āAs I said before, our life experences differ. I... was never a child, I have no parents, no family. Everything I know came from the minds of... of eccentric madmen.ā That his way of naming those who had created him. āIām me, my friend, no one else.ā
Guess who
āSometimes, yes.ā He admitted with a small shrug and a tiny smile. āBut too much a thatāll ruin a persons humility. Anā really in this line a work thatās more important than anythinā. I fuck up a lot anā I know it. Iād rather people called me on my shit early soās I could try anā fix it.ā
He looked down at the bags of art and flashed a brilliant smile back at Charlie. āArt. Not everybody knows but before the war itās what I was studying. I was pretty good at history anā all that, though Buck always whooped my test scores fer science but what I really loved ta do was art. Most of it charcoal, since I couldnāt see a whole lotta colors.ā That grin mellowed but didnāt fade completely. āBut hey- idle shopping can be fun. What you lookinā at now?ā
Such a reply didnāt alter the cloneās view of him at all, if anything it only fuelled his admiration of the man who showed him such honesty. He hadnāt seemed to change, even after all this time, he was still the notable man of his word, a man who stood fast by his morals, and Charlie couldnāt say there were a lot of people who did the same these days. The world wasnāt what it once was, but knowing there were still maybe one or two people like the intrepid Captain around was somewhat comforting.
āI must admit, I wouldnāt have pegged you for an art enthusiast, although now that I think about it, Iām not terribly sure why.ā Chuck admitted with a slight chuckle, he knew better than most that looks could often be deceiving. āIām afraid my day stands rather pale in comparison.ā The young brunette smiled to himself as he spared a glance down at his own shopping bags. āI was actually just buying a few bits and pieces for the fridge and what-not. My cupboards were getting a little... bare.ā
{ To say he nearly choked on his tongue was an understatement, the vampireās expression twisted in disbelief; blinking rapidly; processing this new information and well ā he was telling the truth - but how? Why? Wasnāt there enough fucking Charlesās in the world? } āA copy? Someone copied-ā { Unable to stop himself he laughed, the sound bordering on hysteria. Oh my and heād thought Onslaught was the only thing he would have to avoid, baring his ex husbands face. Apparently not. Now they were copies roaming around. } āOkay, whatās your name? Please donāt tell me itās Charles.āĀ
āDoes that surprise you?ā The telepath asked out of genuine curiosity. He didnāt know the ins and outs about why the stranger was quite so surprised, or perhaps he was more apalled than surprised? Either way, Charlie could feel the never ending thirst begin to rise, the need to know more, the need to understand. It was one of the least favourite traits heād picked up from the infamous mutant.
āCharlie.ā He replied with ease, adding a small shrug of his shoulders. āSome people like to refer to me as Chuck, just... well, anything but Charles.ā
Who was this man? Who was he to Charles Xavier? How did he know him? These were just a few of the questions that boiled behind blue eyes, there were too many possibilities and it seemed he couldnāt just reach in and find the answers for himself. āIām not like him, you know. There are... similarities, yes, but our experiences differ, defining us into two entirely different personalities. Iām just... Charlie.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āItās for our Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā own good.ā
Guess who
He blushed and dropped his hand after a few seconds. āOh no, well, not tiresome anyway.ā He said chuckling softly, blue eyes twinkling with mirth. āI mean itās always disconcerting to have admirers at all but no, itās nice to meet people who think Iām doing the right thing. Makes a man feel good to know people share his opinion.ā Steve said with a laugh.
āSo Charlie, what did I interrupt you at today?ā He wrinkled his nose in a laugh, still easily holding the bag of art supplies on his hip.
The telepath couldnāt hold back the amused smile that crept onto his lips. Charlie couldnāt say he was an overly cheery person, he liked to enjoy himself, enjoyed being playful when the time called for it, but he wasnāt necessarily good with complete strangers. Steve, on the other hand, had managed the impossible, enlightening the cloneās sense of humour when curiosity should have been at the top of his list.
āIt must be reassuring, in some ways? Knowing that people think so highly of you, that... well, that you could do no wrong?ā He asked, letting his free hand find itās way back into his trouser pocket to keep warm.
āI wish I could say I was doing something productive, but Iām afraid my day has so far been filled with little but idle shopping.ā Charlie chuckle to himself, gesturing to the bags of goods in his hand with his chin. āIt looks like youāve been rather busy yourself, my friend.ā
{ A mutant? Was he fucking having a laugh? None of this was funny to Lucien. Heād had just about enough of Xavier look alikeās. Meetings with them never ended well, he couldnāt see how this would be any different and grit his teeth, exasperated. } āRight and Iām godās gift⦠I wasnāt talking about whether you were a mutant or not ā I meant.ā { He broke off and growled out a small warning feeling as the man tried and failed to break through his defences; eyes shooting him a cold look. No. No one was going to access his mind without his permission; not after the amount of time and effort he had taken to build his walls. } āLetās try this again. What relation do you have to Charles Xavier?ā
There it was, the name that haunted the telepathās sleep, the name that taunted him every time he dared close his eyes. He didnāt hate Charles, of course he didnāt, but there was a deep seated jealousy that never seemed to ease. Charlie was just a copy, a knock off of this... infamous Professor, and he had been reminded more than once that was all he was, a failed copy.
He bore the manās visable likeness, but he hadnāt the same experiences, the same upbringing, which made him different.
āIām not quite sure you could call me a relation.ā He admitted with a slight shrug of his shoulders. āIām a clone... a... copy of Charles Xavier.ā

Guess who
āIā¦ā He frowned a bit. He was pretty damn sure that this man was Charles. He hadnāt been there when Charles was a young man but theyād shared their memories, both trying to help work Steven though the trauma heād faced in the war and trying to show Charles what Eric had been like when heād first gotten out of the camps. Then again, the walking and the hair might be a point in the other mans favor.Ā āIām sorry⦠you just look so remarkably like a friend of mineā¦ā He said eventually. He supposed that even if the man was Charles he wasnāt required to talk to Steve if he didnāt want to.Ā āIām Steven.ā He said and held out his hand to shake as if the whole world didnāt know his name. Honestly he wasnāt recognized as often as he thought when he was out of uniform and meeting new people was always niceā¦.right?
Charlie had to admit that he was a little starstruck by the entire situation. Of course it made sense that the Captain would know the Professor, that their paths would have crossed at least once or twice over the years, but actually getting to meet the super soldier in person, have him walk up to the brunette and address him so warmly, it was strangely... pleasant. āNo, no, itās... ah, itās hardly your fault is it?ā He couldnāt help but chuckle a little as he used his hand to gesture his uncanny features.
āYes, Iām well aware of who you are, sir.ā Charle admitted politely, feeling as though his heart was about to beat itās way out of his mouth. He took the manās hand, giving it a firm shake. āIām Charlie, or Chuck if youād prefer. Itās something of a pleasure to meet you, if Iām completely honest.ā He couldnāt mask the boyish glee that managed to beam across his features no matter how hard he tried. āIām terribly sorry, my friend, I imagine you must find it rather tiresome coming across perhaps naive admirers.ā
Ā Ā Ā Heād felt a strong presence from the stranger the moment he passed him by, but it was unsettling. Unlike any normal mutant heād come across, in fact. There was something almost sinister about the feeling that surrounded him⦠and then he spoke. Quickly spinning round to face him, Charles felt a strange sensation - almost like a bolt of lightning had made a circuit through his entire body.Ā
Ā Ā Ā For a moment he could hardly comprehend who, or what, stood in front of him. He wouldāve liked to put him down as a doppelgƤnger of some kind, but he knew this couldnāt be the case; he decided to take a cautious approach. āYes, that would - that would be me.ā He took a moment to survey the individual closely before he continued. āAnd who might you be⦠?āĀ
Charlie didnāt know what to do. Part of him wanted to simply turn and run, tear through the streets and never look back, but the other part of him was stuck fast, too startled to move a single muscle. Even as the man spoke, the clone could feel his throat run dry, each thud of his heart painfully strong beneath his chest.
He knew who he was, of course he knew, heād seen this manās face on more than one occasion through the years, but seeing him for himself, standing before him like some kind of sorded magic trick, it reminded him what he was, what his creatorās kept embedded into his skull. āNothing but his clone.ā āCharlie, or er... Chuck, depending on what youād prefer really.ā The brunette managed through short uneven breathes. āIām... well, Iām no one, honestly.ā
Guess who
Steve sighed and shifted the bag in his arms. Heād been out shopping and found a nice little art store. Heād blown more money on this than he probably should have but Sam had mentioned that if group therapy wasnāt his thing that he could try art therapy instead and so heād splurged. Walking down the street his eyes drifted across all of the other people he passed. Wondering what their stories were, what they held in their lives when his line of sight lighted upon a familiar face. He must have done a double take, maybe even a triple take. There was no way - could it be? Really? āCharles?ā He asked brightly and wound his way over to where the man was standing. āCharles I canāt believe it! Look at you! You look fantastic, youāre standing - and youāve got hair!ā He grinned from ear to ear like the young man he actually was.Ā
@clonedtelepathy
The day had been rather unproductive, much like any other, and that was how Charlie preferred it. Heād seen more and more in recent weeks, the rise in concern as people became more open about their mutations, groups speaking out, all good reasons for the clone to keep his head down, to keep his days as average as possible. Or so he hoped.
Stopping outside a shop on his way home, the telepath glanced inside the window. He couldnāt decide whether to go inside and fill the cupboards up with, what some people might call, absolute rubbish. Cereal, crisps, chocolate, anything, he, unlike the original, didnāt train. He had no reason to.
Though as his brow began to tense with idle thought, the sound of a manās voice caught his attention. For a moment, he tried to ignore it, deciding it couldnāt be directed at him, until he felt the presence near. āI...ā Chuck turned with a look of utter surprise on his features, light blue hues blank as they observed the unfamiliar male. Yes, he recognised him, he had seen his face splashed all over newspapers on more than one occasion, but he had certainly never met him.
Then he realised. Charles. The surprise that he was walking, that he still had a full head of hair. It was a case of mistaken identity. āIām sorry, my friend, but Iām not the man you think I am.ā The clone admitted politely. āIām... Iām not Charles Xavier.ā
