pov youāre a justice of the peace about to pack it up for the day and go home when these two losers from skid row walk in looking like they went three rounds with a lawnmower and lost
šDowntown! Where relationships are no go!šŖ“
I was Audrey in my collegeās production of Little Shop of Horrors! Sheās been a dream role for so long, Iām so glad I got to play her.Ā
Look at this! Look at this fucking thing! This was done in 1986, and used absolutely no CGI whatsoever. It was ALL practical, and ALL done through puppetry. Look at the last gif. Over a dozen vines are moving at once along with its head, lips, and tongue! In interviews Rick Moranis has stated he often forgot he was working with a puppet, as opposed to a really ugly guy. Even today it looks so real. Audrey ii is nothing short of miraculous
IM SORRY WHAT
WHAT
It took over 60 puppeteers to operate Audrey IIās final form in the film. You can read more about the puppetās creation and operation here.
The practical effects of Little Shop of Horrors was fucking astounding.Ā Itās worth it to mention that, in the scenes where the plant is moving, the filming was slowed to 12 to 16 frames a second, so that the film could be sped up to give the Audrey II a more lifelike appearance.Ā In such scenes where actors like Rick Moranis had to speak with the plant, he had to mouth his lines at a slower-than-normal speed while still looking convincing, only to have his voice added in post.Ā
Itās also worth mentioning that a crew of 60+ puppeteers were needed to operate the plant, as the entire puppet weighed over a ton.Ā
Itās no coincidence that the movie was directed by Frank Oz, whom Jim Henson called the best puppeteer in the world.
Uploaded because everybody deserves to hear Audreyās inhuman excited squeak
little shop of horrors but its an 80s animated kids movie
what do you guys think about my Audrey. I need to know
When youāre from skid row.. aināt no such thing.
Nobody asked for these but I don't care anymore
Seymour: Nobody loves me. Iāll be alone forever.
Audrey, thinking to herself: Iām thinking an outdoor wedding, heāll wear the most gorgeous dress and iāll wear a tux with a green tieā
āI am king.ā
Hereās my custom Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors made using a BMR1959 Tango sculpt on a body from Aliexpress.
This was a very easy custom for me cuz the clothes I already had, and the body/head were pieces already in my collection. Iāve honestly been overwhelmed with doing customising cuz Iāve been feeling pressured to do bigger and bigger customs that require a lot of work to show off but Audrey has shown me how a humble custom can be good too for me.
Iām really happy how Audrey turned out since sheās absolutely one of my favourite broadway characters.
you look me in the eyes and tell me orin WOULDNāT own this
Omg I was doing a performance of Grease at my school and the understudy for Danny had one of these and I ran to my best friend who was playing Doody and saidĀ āDANNY HAS A KNIFEā it was a whisper and it was backstage so no one would hear but I was absolutely terrifiedĀ
