Blane had fully intended on killing Shayne. Never had there been such a prime opportunity to be in control when he was around. His presence put Blythe at ease, and without fear, she was often left watching the two together... Brooding. What luck that they'd been accosted on their outing. How unfortunate that Shayne would be caught in her crossfire.
The ending of one of the assailants had been quick, and when she had set her sights on Shayne, he'd taken on... qualities that Blane had yet to discover. Ones that left her slack jawed, staring. The memories were hazy. Intention to kill was easily remembered... But what had happened to get her from that place, to here, back in Blythe's mind, Shayne unscathed?
"I- I- I'm scared b- because... I- I don't w- want you to l- leave m- me. I-" The mention of Elaathug has her tilting her head, confused. "What-" As the void rips open, her eyes widen, standing perfectly still as the tendril slithered over her skin, leaving it spotless everywhere it touched.
Now that should have been something to be scared of.
But Blythe was utterly... delighted. That is, until the eyes opened and stared at her, causing an inexplicable pang in her mind. Not enough to go insane, sure, but enough to leave her incredibly uncomfortable. Blane stared too, remembering the same eyes now, how they had affected her... How it'd been much more threatening then...
A tiny gasp escapes Blythe as Elaathug made their exit, releasing her from the trancelike state, embarrassment replacing the unease. "Th- thank you!" she finally forces out, unsure if the being could hear her when it was sealed away. Sparkling emeralds flick from Shayne's neck to his eyes, many questions bubbling to the surface. But he was right, as usual. They needed to get cleaned up.
"Th- this way..." Relieved he'd stayed, she leads him through a complicated crisscross of various alleys, trying to keep from prying eyes. Blythe was quiet for a long time, thoughts and worries swirling until there wasn't any room inside herself to keep it all. It had to come out.
"S- so h- how did you and Elaathug m- meet? Th- they s- seem n- nice..." She said it as if the eldritch creature was a normal person. It was a genuine question, but would have been silly to most. The most pressing question should have been around what exactly Elaathug was... But of course, the odder the oddity, the more enticed the girl was.
