I feel like simply calling JK Rowling a transphobe isn't strong enough anymore. Like. This is not your grandpa calling you by your deadname at a restaurant kind of transphobic. This is her wanting to eradicate all trans people (with an extra special hatred towards trans women specifically). This is her trying just that by personally funding transphobic hate groups with millions to push around laws in the UK. It is not hyperbolic to call her a dangerous, genocidal maniac.

It's not about cancelling a problematic writer. It's about literally trying to save lives by denying her as much money and power as possible.

people aren't wrong in saying you should have sympathy for girls with eating disorders but whenever someone uses online eating disorder communities (like ed twitter) as an example I cannot follow...like those girls are getting hate for being just straight up awful to other people who have nothing to do with them. taking someone else's photo and saying you're using it as inspiration to starve yourself is worthy of criticism

also having anorexia doesn't make you aggressively hate fat people. i've struggled with this disorder throughout my life and literally never had that problem. you can become easily irritated when hungry, but it doesn't make you adopt certain worldviews, lol. i'm not saying people who do these things are irredeemable--I was still an insane bpdhead as a teenager for other reasons. i'm just saying political views are not a mental illness. also while some eating disorder communities are helpful because you can relate to people, keep in mind this is a competitive disorder where people will encourage each other to essentially kill themselves, so often finding community causes problems. I would say anorexics are more akin to addicts in logic behavior in some ways (and there's often substance abuse involved anyway). so like, yes you can have sympathy but keep in mind the situation is largely self-destructive and sympathy isn't easy to come by all the time. a lot of people lose relationships with friends and family and so on - I often feel functionally useless in my own relationship due to physical limitations
