plurality-pet-peeves

Oh my god this got so long? I am so sorry 😭

So recently on tiktok (aka hell) there was this systok trend of plurals "showing off" their "weird" headmates/alters, and there's a few peeves we have with it. First off, calling someone your "weird alter" just kinda rubs us the wrong way? Obviously if it's in a joking way then wdc, I call my headmates weird all the time, but having a headmate make an entire video to be seen by god knows how many people calling themself a weird or unusual alter just because of who they are is just...it opens the door to a lot of bad stuff, we think. Also, it feels like a lot of the videos were just catering to singlets more than anything?? When we checked the replies, 80% of comments were from singlets talking about how may different weird alters they had seen in videos and how Silly and Goofy systems were. Which is. An entire other conversation within itself. But ALSO, third point, we then came across a video of a system saying they thought that some of the alters in the videos were “too out there” and didn’t exist??? I’m. You’re genuinely fakeclaiming? Entire headmates? Just becuase you think they’re weird??? That is just asshole behavior. Like we saw, for example, a bowl of mac n cheese, a couple of Jesus and Gods, some angels, some factives, and some Problematic Factives. And did we, for even a single second, go “hey that sounds fake”? NO! BECAUSE YOU DON’T SAY THAT!!! You don’t know why a bowl of Mac n cheese formed, and you don’t need to! It doesn’t matter! Plurality is a weird thing, we’ve thought that we had a literal Cheeseburger form a couple of times! Putting one of your headmates onto the internet essentially just to let singlets point and laugh at them is so fucking rude and we hate the trend so much, oh my god. If plurals wanted to genuinely make a video with a headmate they have that may be viewed as weird and talk about that experience, that’s completely fine, but once you start doing it “for the trend” it just looses all meaning.
