Hello! I’m an impulsive creature and this is me organizing an event no one asked for! DOMAYSTIC! :D

As the name says, it’s a prompt event that runs on May about the domestic trope, of stuff inside and outside a house but you can spice it up however you like.

Rules and guidelines

All fandoms or original content are welcome.

Any kind of media is welcome. That is to say that fanfiction, fanart, fanmixes, puzzles, diy art, quizzes, podfics, edits, fic recs, and whatever it is you feel like doing. That’s all good.

Feel free to mix the domestic trope with anything you like: an adventure with the deli owner down the street? A bit of a thrill on the rooftop? Keep it a fluffy kidfic? Or turning the filleting of a salmon into a bloodbath? All’s good.

There is one prompt for each day for a total of 31 prompts + 5 extra alternatives in the form of questions

If you want to combine more prompts together, that is fine (but I will reblog the entry only one time).

If you want to combine these prompts with another event, no problems from this side of the road.

You can share your work on any platform you like. If you make a post here on tumblr, I’ll reblog it.

I live in Europe. So I’ll wait until the day is over in almost all the world before reblogging the next prompt. (I’ll try. And that is why I have two clocks in the about section of the blog.)

Legal Blindness

When people ask “what do blind people see,” I often hear things like “literally nothing, they don’t see black because they literally can’t see.” And that’s true…for some blind people. 

However, many legally blind people do have varying degrees of remaining vision. What that looks like depends a lot on why they are blind. For example, when asked to describe her vision in 2012, Christine Hà said it was “like if you take a really hot shower and then you look into the foggy bathroom mirror, where you only see vague shapes and shadows.” Christine was not born with this level of vision; she has Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder, so she progressively lost vision later in life.

There is a wide range of answers to “what do blind people see,” so I wanted to provide just a few resources for people who are curious or want to write a blind character with some remaining vision. While looking up various conditions on medical sites is a good starting point, nothing beats first-hand experience.

These types of comments frustrate me. I don’t mind the occasional kindly worded comment asking if I plan to come back to a story, but the entitlement in this one and similar ones is so off putting and discouraging. The more comments I get like this, the less I even want to write.
