This person is extremely valid because if you’ve never seen the Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue intro it really is just the worst thing ever.
I have a terrible joke, and I must share it.
So a frog goes in for a loan. He hops up to the desk of Patricia Whack, one of the bank employees, and says, “I want to borrow $500,000.” Patricia says, “Well that’s a lot.” Frog says, “It’s okay, my dad’s Mick Jagger.” “That’s nice,” Patricia answers, “but if you want to borrow that much, the bank needs some kind of collateral.” So the frog takes a ceramic pig out of its little bag and sets it on Patricia’s desk (he looks very smug at this point). He says, “I think this ought to take care of that.” “Uh, let me check with my boss.” So Patricia takes the ceramic pig and goes back to her boss’s office and explains the situation. “And what the hell even is this?” she concludes, pointing to the ceramic pig.
Her boss says, “It’s a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man’s a Rolling Stone.”

There is no argument, this scene is the best thing that infinity war has given us
instead of disintegrating 50% of the population Thanos should’ve snapped anyone who watches riverdale out of existence
My biggest gripe was this: if 50% of the world population is dusted, how the hell isn’t society in shambles? I mean, what about the labor sector? Who’s going to collect the crops and produce that our population needs? What about medical services like anesthesiologists, physicians, surgeons, and therapists? Who’s going to help people mortally injured? What about the loved ones left behind?
To say nothing of the security state of the world. Militaries would be reduced, and certain groups would take advantage of the chaos to advance their agendas. I can easily see religious fervor taking over - zealots and prophets winning over scared masses looking for answers and someone to blame.
What about power systems? We need electricians and engineers to maintain the electrical systems that power the US. There’s also Nuclear Reactors, skilled and knowledgeable technicians who are needed to keep them running and notice any errors. What about them?
The Russo’s did a second rate job with Infinity War, but their effort at delivering the stakes and setting the tone was top-notch. Instead of exploring any of the consequences above, we instead get a shitty nostalgia driven time heist plot, a lazy way of cutting corners and plodding through conflict.
There wasn’t much tension, if you ask me. It felt more like treading water until the scriptwriters lifted the plot on land so it could get moving. While a part of me bemoans the waste of potential storytelling, it can be difficult to pull off a well done script with elements as I described above.
Film is a limited medium. Compared to literature, it’s secondary. Writing can capture and express ideas better than sight can. We have to infer a lot by what we see, and not everyone is going to see the same depth or the lack of it. Which is a shame, because this could have been a very compelling drama, forcing together a shattered, dysfunction team of heroes making a long shot chance under dire circumstances.
idk man this was a post about riverdale
