Would Mizuki or Ena propose or do they accidentally propose at the exact same time

okay soo… torn on this one!! so i legit just had a in-depth discussion about it with my wife askahdjshj to sum up our thoughts:

while ena is a romantic and i see her wanting to propose to mizuki to make her hers forever, my wife and i think that it should be mizuki to propose bc of her previous avoidance issues. kinda to balance out their dynamic so it’s not always ena the one taking these steps, you know

BUT!! they’re both soo close and soo in sync and in tune that we really think they’d talk about it first. they’d bring it up as something they want to do (celebrate their love in front of friends and family) and that might be a good idea legally (in a world where mizuki has officially transitioned and has ‘F’ on her documents and gay marriage is finally legal in japan) because you know. being married would be a good idea if anything were to happen to either of them, and to make banking stuff easier etc.

ena says she wants to propose but mizuki is like “you have always been the one chasing after me. let me return the favor” or something to that effect that has ena bawling her eyes out on the couch

so she decides to leave it up to mizuki. mizuki has a lot of fun planning a nice proposal, maybe another picnic under cherry blossoms bc it’s Them and it feels right

they go to the cherry tree they saw on their first mystery tour!! ena suspects that it’s about the proposal but says nothing (she’s shaking the whole time and cant be normal at all and mizuki thinks it’s super cute)

after they’re done eating mizuki starts telling ena how much she means to her. how she changed her life. and how much she loves her. and then hands her a ring, no box or anything, and ena is shaking so much she cant even put it on so mizuki helps her… and then mizuki gets another ring out like “hehe i wanted one too :3” and ena laughs even though she’s crying a bit and slips the ring on mizuki’s finger and they smooch and they both are crying and grinning like stupid idiots in love

alternatively we very much see a scenario where mizuki notices ena is gonna propose (bc ena is not subtle nor careful nor smart about it at all let’s be real), so when ena proposes she has a matching engagement ring for ena too lol ena gets annoyed at first like “you knew!!!” but then she’s rly happy mizuki got her a nice ring bc she’ll love to show it off 💍

just realized i've never seen an au of phantom thief mizuki x valentine ena as partners in crime (like, literal crimes.) sooo maybe you could change that?

not drawing for a while and then you come saying the best scenario ever so I have to lock the fuck in lmao Since people normally imagine valentine Ena as a detective I imagine that she uses that power to help Mizuki cover her crimes, they can't catch you if your gf is the boss lmao

New fantasy au just dropped, all say thanks to Ena Shinonome for serving so hard and pulling me from my artblock

I've been thinking so much about a new fantasy au(polyniigo style, obv) where the magic system is based around creation and art( in general:music, craft, paint etc) but you kinda have to be born for it, and Ena is not lol, so she spirals and her crazyness turns her into a evil queen with a little too much magic. I imagine her like a witch from Madoka Magica, her kingdom is now made with pictures made by herself, and she puppeteers her citizens to love her. Mafuyu is send there to kill her but she took it as a suicide mission, but Ena can't control Mafuyu(you can't control someone who is already controlled) so Mafuyu just stays there chilling. Kanade is a princess turned knight who is the first person to think "maybe we can talk her out of this???" Mizuki tags along because everyone thinks Kanade is too weak to actually survive, she is really going for the kill(at first)
