so it's one of her "survives order 66" aus where she escapes the battlefield but the ship she steals is compromised so she's forced to land on a rough backwater planet. she tries to blend in but people are forced to fight and steal to survive here, and with the force on her side she fares better than most. pretty soon she has followers who help her get what she needs as long as she protects them.

that's how she accidentally starts a gang. the gang grows, they gain a base of operations, they move from stealing just the food and supplies they need to stealing to sell and making themselves more comfortable (or less miserable anyway). anais has to defend her people from rivals, and her training and abilities serve her well. she abandoned her lightsaber but she has scary good aim with a blaster and her jedi instincts. she has to be careful not to reveal herself.

years down the line she's become a tough leader (she has to make an example of people who betray her, because they're hurting her people, and she has to take care of her people, right?). she's involved in a lot of markets but she's known for not dealing in slaves. she has a soft spot for twi'lek women and employs a fair few who fled enslavement. she's a good negotiator who can make anyone feel at ease.

she has a girlfriend she spoils, as well as some orphaned kids she keeps around for odd jobs who she mentors.

she knows that her "business" hurts people but she doesn't see a way out. she can't abandon the people who depend on her and she'd never be safe if she tried to leave this life behind. she just tells herself she's doing the best she can with her circumstances.
