Art Fight attack for @melonfella
A Shot from every scene I animated and edited for SMG4.
Can you recognise each episode? 😊
I can only assume the original post was deleted and it seems as though I have subsequently been blocked, (my original response has been embedded below for context). I'm not surprised and quite frankly, rather disappointed, but from what I've heard about the backlash, I'd like to hope this means the matter is put to bed and lessons were learnt.
In doing so, I want to stress that any harassment against the original poster should NOT be tolerated.
The point of calling it out was to recognise that this kind of rhetoric was bullying and insulting. Whether it was intentional or not. Especially when you directly single one person out.
Using the personal experiences of an artist to try and justify contentious fan discourse is also incredibly narrow-minded and very dismissive of the blog post's original purpose.
Let's not stoop to this behaviour. Set an example and rise above it. Be mindful of how you interact and think before you speak. Social media is not a empty void where what we say does no damage or has no consequences. If you treat it like one, you learn the hard way by the boat load. We all have a responsibility with our platforms.
If the OP does somehow find this post - You are a very talented artist and creative and wish you well in all your endeavours. Genuinely. It saddens me that this is our first interaction, but I also hope you will grow from this. I took the post very personally. Both as a former crew member of SMG4 and also as a close friend of Starteas. It was unwarranted. I hope if our paths cross again it will be on better terms.
All of you have a good one. Look out for each other!

I've heard that said person has declared on tiktok that they wish to separate themselves from the fandom and SMG4 as a series and we should respect that. Let's not aggravate this situation any further.
I want it on record though - not even an apology...
REBLOG if you have amazing talented artist friends!
This show is an accurate portrayal of how artists are hopeless dumbasses and we need a producer type to bring us back to earth to get anything meaningful done and I’m here for it
In lighter news, I decided to get a tiktok acc for posting stuff as I use the app so frequently haha. I'll be sharing some of my most recent animations and stuff there as well as potentially new stuff if I ever get round to making more content.
clubbins7 is the handle, see you there!
reblog if you hate the current interior design trend of painting everything white with hints of grey or black. ignore if you have no taste

Constructive criticism, from out of respect, is okay. Same goes with having a different interpretations/opinions of a character, based on what is shown to the audience. It brings interesting conversation and even fan content exploring it. If you don't like something, that's okay. If you have some criticism but you still like the media, that's also okay. We all don't have to agree with every opinion.; to each their own.
But it's another thing when you start to bullying individuals for not meeting your personal expectations. Or worse, to harass them.
Please do remember to be respectful.
Commission for @clubbins! I had an absolute blast with this piece! Thank you SO much for trusting me to draw the sillies for you, Clubbins!
MY BOYYYSSSSSS!!! Thank you sm Lappy!! Ya'll should absolutely commission her!!
So that's why Mr. Puzzles' development was gradually going downhill.
Ever since my analysis, I began to suspect that perhaps the scriptwriters, and especially the new ones, were not told at all about the characters' personalities, the lore of the universe, and so on, and surprisingly, I turned out to be right! The whole idea of the characters was literally taken from the personal vision of each person and honestly, this became even more evident when Starteas took over as writer (srry, but I personally think that Starteas is not a good writer and made Mr. Puzzles even worse than he became after Meme Factory)
I remember a long time ago, I was checking with my friends who was behind which movie with Mr. Puzzles in it, and surprisingly, all the good movies were released only under the wing of Luke and Kevin as wtiters. What do I mean? I'll show you.
Puzzlevision Movie ↓
Meme Factory ↓
WOTFI 2024 ↓ (yeah I consider it as good)
Guns N' Puzzles ↓
I hope you see the pattern I did.
But what's more frustrating is that if the character bibles had been written out, then perhaps we wouldn't have gotten the poor development of Mr. Puzzles that we ended up with. And the rest of the characters by the end of 2025 didn't feel so weird and stereotypical in some sense.
I need you to understand that taking this kind of rhetoric from that blog post is incredibly hurtful. Especially by using it to justify your own views of a fictional character by putting down the writers. You're insulting the people who worked on the show. You quite directly insult Starteas here.
You have to understand that Colin is only one window into SMG4's experience that even he himself said may not be reflective of the experience in it's final days. I was not a writer on SMG4 but I was an animator/editor in its final year. We did have access to character sheets which informed us on how major characters were supposed to behave, their animation style as well as editorial notes like subtitle font/colour, etc. Whether the writers had different ones I wouldn't know, but they definitely had access to those ones as well as a plethora of other resources.
Even if none were available, do you not understand how insulting it is to the writers that you would assume they couldn't do their own research or make informed decisions about characters and their universe? Character bibles and lore sheets are not the be-all, end-all, they are helpful guides designed to make the writing process more efficient and streamlined. They are TOOLS. Tools which I think SMG4 definitely needed as a WEEKLY show, so it is a deep shame that Colin did not get that in his experience. He still excelled as a writer for the show though! His talents and the talents of other writers are not bound by those tools and framing it as so really down treads on their hard work.
Even through all that, I know for a fact that ultimately, Luke still always maintained final creative control. He always had final say of approval on my scenes, as well the other animators/editors and, to my knowledge, had similar control/viewership of scripts before they were finalised. Even as Glitch as a whole was expanding and getting busier. If the direction the writers took was not up to his vision, then I don't think they would've been developed in the first place. It is incredibly insidious to imply each writer was just filling in their own personal vision when the writing had always been a collaborative process and ultimately, lead and finalised by Luke.
I appreciate that you don't have to like the direction a show takes, but you do not need to bring down the people who worked on the show as a result. You may not have realised that's what you are doing but it is. You may think you're just speaking out into the void but we can see your posts. We do read them. This was hurtful in more ways than you may realise. It's posts like these that discourage crew members from interacting with fans. Starteas particularly is INCREDIBLY generous to the SMG4 fandom. I'd hate to think how he'd feel examining this post.
More importantly though, Colin's experience should not be used to frame fan discourse like this. That was not the point of his blog post.
If you want to take anything away from his experience, let it be that we should be uplifting and emboldening artists in the indie industry to come forward about their experiences and to strive for improvement. Not that you were "right" about a character's development going "downhill". Let's be a little more empathetic and look at the bigger picture.
I should quit my job to pursue a life of meaningless violence
I'm sorry if any of you were hoping for more animations/smg4 related stuff from me lately. I'm struggling to even participate in my hobbies because my brain has been a mess and I can't function properly. I'm just living to go to work and nothing else.
I'm sorry.
