Inspired by ___-culture-is blogs in general, created for cluster b solidarity and awareness. Hate messages will either be deleted or answered privately, and (polite) questions will be answered publicly. Information/DNI and mod intros are in the pinned post! Note, so there is no confusion in the future: This blog is explicitly pro-endo. Sysmeds, do not interact or you will be blocked on sight.
Hello! Welcome to cluster-b-culture-is! This blog is run by two plurals who have cluster b disorders and who want to spread positivity and awareness for them, along with building a safe space for others.
As mentioned in the blog description, we will not be responding publicly to hate and negativity. It will either be deleted or responded to privately. Any discourse sent to our blog will be deleted as well; this is meant to be a safe place for personality disorders.
And, as a quick aside since we've gotten many asks about this, cluster B disorders are a group of personality disorders including ASPD, NPD, BPD, and HPD. There are two other clusters (cluster A and cluster C), but this blog is specifically focused on cluster B disorders.
Information, a discord server, and introductions are below the cut!
Do not repost posts from this blog without explicit permission and credit. Reblogs are okay.
Information
- We support informed self-diagnosis and non-traumagenic systems. If you disagree with either of these, you will be blocked on sight. We do not welcome anti-endos and anti-nontraumagenics (A more detailed explanation of our stance here). We are also pro-tulpa and pro-nontraumagenic (p-)DID/OSDD systems.
- Exclusionists (transmeds/truscum, aspec-exclus, anti-mogai, anti-mspec lesbians/gays, anti-nonbinary lesbians/nonbinary gays/male lesbians/female gays, etc.) will be blocked on sight. Our identities are not up for debate.
- Others that we will block as soon as we see them: Flop/cringe blogs, NSFW/kink blogs, radfems (both trans-"inclusive" and trans-exclusive), anti-blm or don't see the problem with "all lives matter", MAPs, ED-focused main blogs regardless of if you are pro- or anti-recovery, actively encourage being anti-recovery for others, pro-lifers, pro-cancel/call-out culture, not anti-harassment, and right-wingers
- The symbol on the avatar is one made by one of the mods! Feel free to use it if you want, but we will not claim that it should represent the entire cluster b community--it was mostly just a fun thing to help represent the blog.
- You can do more specific things than just cluster b culture! You can talk about the intersections with other disorders, specific personality disorders, really just anything so long as it has to do with (a) cluster b disorder(s)! However, please make sure it is cluster b culture is (or some variant, such as NPD culture is or autistic cluster b culture is, etc), as this blog is made by and for people with cluster b disorders.
- We also will not be posting any asks that don't have a "cluster b culture is" type thing at the beginning. If it's just a vent, we will not be posting it, and we also won't read it and it'll just be deleted. Sorry y'all, but if you want something posted, then we need the "cluster b culture is" style beginning for organization purposes.
- That being said, certain submissions may not be posted for the mods' comfort OR there may be a major delay before something is posted, often due to overwhelm, lack of spoons, or just plain ol' not being sure how to tag it properly. It could also be a case of the queue being massively full! We currently run at 6 posts per day, but we still have many posts in the queue. Often new asks will take at least a week to be published, even if there are no other delays. Feel free to ask us to tag certain triggers!
- Asks asking for personal advice will not be answered, certain questions (i.e., "What is an FP?" or "What is splitting?") may be answered, but it's not guaranteed. Please note that we are not professionals here, just two cluster Bs with too much time on our hands. This blog is a hobby, not a job.
- here is a link to our discord server! If you have a cluster b disorder, traits of one, or are questioning, feel free to join!
- Here is a link to the cluster b song suggestions playlist! (The ask, that is)
Introductions
- Mod Reef is a multi-origins collective with DID, NPD, and ASPD, plus a whole laundry list of other disorders such as autism, schizophrenia, OCD, and AVPD. We use it/its and ze/hir pronouns collectively and exclusively, and will not talk about our headmates. We also wish to not be called a system, and rather we be called either a collective or a constellate. Feel free to ask if you'd like to know why. We're physically disabled and use forearm crutches and a wheelchair.
- Mod Orange is a large DID system with ASPD and NPD. We also have a nice laundry list of other disorders because mental illness is “buy one, get seven free”. We’re very queer and use they/them, xe/xem, ze/zem, and vo/ven pronouns collectively and are totally indifferent to which of those people use. We’re chronically ill (and chronically online as a result) and Jewish. Open to answering most questions, but somewhat new to tumblr :)
ASPD culture is seeing an antisocial person be 'anti good faith labels' (like bi lesbian and such) and immediately thinking they're a poser. pfft, you think societally created bullshit has strict rules that everyone must follow? lame, I thought ASPD was Disregard The Rules disorder.
BPD culture is being a friend's FP and wanting to be everything they need, based off of my knowledge of my own BPD and triggers but also listening to there's.
BPD culture is endless emotional and physical exhaustion.
Cluster B culture is PLEASE stop calling strangers sociopaths and psychopaths and narcissists when you know nothing about them other than that they were mean to you.
I’m sick and tired of hearing these words used as synonyms for violent rude asshole. They have baggage. You can’t just throw them around willy nilly and expect the people they’ve been used against to be cool with that.
Hello! Pardon the interruption into your ask feed, but i have some questions regarding the ASPD diagnosis. Anons and admins alike are welcomed to answer...
You see, we are looking for ASPD resources on CD (conduct disorder), because there are so many links with mixed messages on whether its necessary for a diagnosis of a CD or not. Some say it is, others don't. It's quite annoying and confusing to see a lot of resources contradicting each other... especially since we seem to have ASPD traits as severe as the actual disorder, but we never have hurt anyone or committed a crime (other than piracy lol)
For a professional to diagnosis you with AsPD, you need to have evidence of conduct disorder prior to the age of 15. Note: not have been diagnosed with it, just that there's evidence you could have been. However, this can be complicated by a few things.
(1) First things first, there's some evidence that there are people that, other confounding factors taken into account, would qualify for an AsPD diagnosis if only evidence of conduct disorder wasn't required.
(2) Depending on where you live, you may also qualify for a diagnosis if you have evidence of Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD) from prior to the age of 15; this, however, only applies to certain areas and certain countries, and there's the controversy surrounding whether or not ODD should even exist as a diagnosis in the first place, especially when talking about kids and adolescents and when taking into account the all-too-prevalent racism in how the label is disproportionately applied to kids and people of color over white people, especially if those kids already show symptoms of ADHD and/or autism.
(3) Lots of things can prevent people (who eventually develop AsPD) from showing/presenting with conduct disorder, anywhere from disability, to extremely strict parents preventing action, to having more covert symptoms, etc.
We personally are of the opinion that the requirement for [evidence of] CD is, in professional terms, a teensy bit bullshit. Particularly since we're in the camp of "Displayed some CD symptoms (especially as a young kid), but more prominently and consistently displayed AsPD symptoms throughout childhood and adolescence, into adulthood", particularly since while there is overlap between the two, they aren't the same. And on top of that, there is no reliable predictor of whether a kid with CD will develop AsPD or if they "just" have severe ADHD, certain presentations of autism, and other things. While most pwAsPD may have [evidence of] CD as a kid, we think requiring it just prevents people from finding resources and community they may need.
ASPD culture is realizing that I do actually check off the lack of regard for myself thing. I thought I didn't because it doesn't manifest as extreme risk taking or something, but I fr just don't care about myself as much as I probably should lmao
Cluster B culture is getting incrementally better at being corrected and then relapsing into "Nuh-Uh, You're Wrong" stubborning holding ont your reading fo a situation
BPD culture is dreading therapy sessions became of the question "How was your week?".
Ma'am, I'm going to need you to narrow it down. A specific day? A specific time on a specific day? We cannot say our week was good or bad because we experience a week's worth of emotions in a single day.
loveless aspd culture is always freezing up when youre asked what you like about someone you know and just giving a two word response like “theyre funny” or “theyre nice” because you genuinely cannot answer the question
ASPD culture is, how the fuck am I nicer and more considerate than you (general you) fuckers? aren't I supposed to have the 'rude dickhead with zero consideration of how something may affect other people' disorder??? how am I able to think 'this could offend someone, I should steer clear of it' when prosocials put no effort into doing the same thing? bruh??
Cluster b culture is trying to research cluster b disorders, and every article by official mental health organisations talking about how we all exhibit abusive tendencies or whatever.
We are not all abusers
We are not all abusers
WE ARE NOT ALL ABUSERS
WE ARE NOT ALL FUCKING ABUSERS!!
I'm genuinely so sick of it. I found one fucking article that talks about people with aspd like, yk, ACTUAL FUCKING HUMAN BEINGS. And guess what? It wasn't that fucking hard after all. It's really easy to talk about people like they're more than just potential abusers. Cause ANYONE CAN BE AN ABUSER, REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS OR ISN'T WRONG WITH THEM. WE ARE HUMAN, PLEASE FUCKING TREAT US LIKE IT FINALLY
cluster b culture is trying not to do bad things™️, because you want to be a good and safe partner/friend/family to your Special/Chosen Person, but then doing bad things™️ just to keep that person in your life, because if they leave, you will have nothing to hold you back from doing bad things™️
cluster B culture is having a soft spot for cats. I can watch shock videos with little reaction but if I see a cat even so much as get kicked it's upsetting
cluster B culture is having someone say you're experiencing intrusive thoughts, and... no? intrusive thoughts are supposed to be distressing, and I didn't say I was bothered by them?? 'you have a sudden thought about a Bad Thing' does not instantly mean it's intrusive. I just think the thoughts are entertaining most of time.
ASPD culture is suddenly getting inspiration for where you want to take your life and, obviously, that little spark leaves so fast that you can't even begin to so much as look into pursuing the thing.
ASPD culture is wondering why so many people with this disorder make it seem like the Apathy Disorder. sure, I experience apathy (sometimes to a concerning degree), but people seem to make it a core part of the disorder.
