Week 11 21-28/03/3304

What a fantastic week. After talking with the other IDA CMDRs they offered pros and cons to both the T-9 and the Cutter. Now the T-9 is cheaper, can carry more and it doesn't require a rank to from the Imperials before you can purchase it so you would think well okie thats a prefect ship but you would be wrong as it has a certain nickname, Space Cow. Apparently this ship is super slow and i am not about slow. The cutter on the other hand for a large ship is surprising quick and nimble, it can carry the same amount as a T-9 if you sacrifice shields, and daym dose it look good. It also has one thing the T-9 doesn't, a raider kit! So my mind was made up the Cutter it was.  It didn’t take me to long to rank up with the Imperials i actually did it in a day and after a bit of exploration to rank up to Elite i was invited to Founders World which is where i bought my Cutter. Sure i had to sell my Anaconda to upgrade it a bit but it was worth it, and i can always save up and buy another Anaconda in the future.

Look how stunning it is.  When i arrived back in the Pleiades Sector CMDR Ninj was there to greet me. He must of been pleased with my choice of ship as he quickly got in his and suggested we go bask for a bit before cracking back on with repairing the new station, Hudson Observatory.

Now my Cutter isn’t the only beauty in this log as during the week, in the early morning before i had set out trucking, a Postal Android came knocking on my quarter door. I signed for the package and hurried to the kitchen table, i always get excited when i receive parcels but since i hadn’t ordered anything this one excited me more. It could only be one thing. My Hutton Orbital Radio Mug!!!  I opened the box hastily but carefully i didn't want to damage it after all and after reading a letter from Alvin himself i dived my hand into the packing noodles and rummaged around before finally pulling it out. Packing noodles flying everywhere as i did like some sort of cheap firework. Then there it was right in front of me. Moving my old shitty mug off the Hutton coaster i then place the rightful mug in its rightful place.

Week 10 14-20/03/3304

After a week of trucking Malthus is fully repaired and back up and running. Every CMDR did an amazing job, with hundreds of thousands of tonnes brought from stations all over the Pleiades Sector and further afield it was no small task. The work is still not over though as we now have to move onto the next station them daym Thargoids attacked.

One thing i noticed is i’m in a tiny ship compared to the others. Trucking just over 300 tonnes a run while the others in T-9s and Cutters are doubling that amount and then some. I may have to invest in a bigger ship, I just hope i’m not gone to long.

Week 9 - 07-13/03/3304

Fist off i would like to say a massive well done and thank you to all the CMDR’s who ran missions for Hutton in Luyten 145-141, it certainly paid off as we won the election and are now the controlling faction. As a Custodian of the system along with CMDR Psymons it is now our job to make sure everything keeps ticking over smoothly. We don’t want to build to much of an influence that we expand again and we definitely do not wanna drop too low that we get booted out. It’s all about balance.   I’ve been speaking to CMDR Ninj recently who is based slightly away from the bubble in Pleiades. Due to the Thargoids now been almost everywhere in that area he has invited me along to come do some research. Sadly those plans got cut short, as we were travailing along a scout ripped us out of supercruise and the force of it made my ship spin out of control and smash into it. All i can assume is it may of thought i was attacking as it opened fire. Luckily for me i managed to eject and CMDR Ninj picked me up before i was toast. He took me to the closest station where i could sort out all my insurance and claim back the ship i had just lost. While waiting for that to be settled we took a walk around to grab a drink and that’s where i noticed this.

I asked Ninj about it as i knew he was helping repair the stations. He exclaimed that it was an old poster and the Oracle is now repaired along with a station i had previously seen destroyed, Obsidian Orbital. This was great news although the expression on his face said differently. We carried on walking and he stated that even though we have two stations back up and running the Thargoids are destroying them quicker then we can repair. If we had more people willing to truck supplies from place to place we would get them fixed a lot faster. It was then i noticed him looking at me sheepishly through the corner of my eye.   Before long he had twisted my arm and now here i am trucking in my Conda. The station i’m helping repair is Malthus Station. I’m not alone in this though as flying around i have noticed a lot of other Hutton Truckers helping by doing what we do best. I am enjoying it so i think i’m going to stick around for a while. With CMDR Psymons keeping an eye on Luyten we are in good hands.

Week 8 - 28-6/03/3304

Quiet an exciting week has gone by and i have met and worked with many CMDR’s.   I started the week chatting on the Truckers Group coms checking on what needed doing in the systems we control when CMDR Thomassen popped up asking if anyone wanted to join in with a wing mission. I jumped at the chance as i have never worked in a wing with someone like this before. The mission was to deliver 3000 odd tonnes of Beryllium from Euclid Station in Luyten 145-141 to a neighbouring  system. With two of us working on this we managed to get it done with in a couple of hours which helped us out a lot as we got 14 mill each.   That was one of the ways i got talking to a fellow trucker and it was enjoyable but after listening to the radio show i found out that there was a small meet up happening, the Mug Meet. I asked around about this and it turns out a load of truckers travel to Hutton Orbital in all types of ships large, medium and small. Then the small and medium ships dock buy a load of mugs and transfer them to large ships as they cannot dock there. A lot of pirates also know about these events so anyone not collecting mugs will go off and deal with them. Afterwards many people stick around and talk to the community making it a great photo opportunity. Especially if you end up taking photos like what i did. It’s not always business with us. 

After a couple of hours and grabbing a cargo rack full of Centauri Mega Gin i went on my way back to my now home station Euclid.  I awoke the next morning to news that the Hutton Orbital Truckers had entered an election with the controlling fraction, Revolutionary Party of LTT 3572. We had gained that much of an influence it seemed that the people may of wanted us in control. Doing odd jobs for Hutton that day to help keep our inf up i then over heard other CMDR’s talking about a “gold rush”. This peaked my interest and i listened more closely finding out where it was and what was going down. Once i had that i dashed to my Space Urchin and off i went. The missions were easy and the fractions handing them out were paying a lot and i mean a lot. Sadly these don’t last long as the fractions do run out of budget money they set aside for these. I managed to earn 40 mill in a couple of days but the news recently reported that a fair few CMDR’s had become billionaires, i was happy though as i now had enough money to buy one of the best combat ships and with my new found love of bounty hunting i was ecstatic for this. Finally i will have a ship built to do a job i love.  I bought my Chieftain on the 6th decked it out with the best stuff and slammed a couple of nik-naks on my dash, come on who doesn't love a good bobble head and string lights. No point sat in a dull metal box for hours on end and the’re fun to watch jiggle as you thrust around.

Week 7 - 20-27/02/3304

It’s the beginning of a new week and after only 7 weeks i can now buy a new ship. Yes another one but i do need it with my only cargo ship been stuck in Colonia. I can’t call myself a Trucker is i don’t have a mother trucking cargo ship. So 170 mill later i now own an Anaconda, probably not my wisest move as after i supped it up it left me just enough money for 1 rebuy. 

 For a couple of days i trucked along dropping of many many tonnes of cargo but sadly it wasn’t making me a profit fast enough and been interdicted most of the time by pirates after my haul was pretty scary. I had no weapons you see so if i failed that was me gone, luckily i didn't but i had had enough of this so with the money i had earned from cargo i headed back to outfitting a changed it. This time i went for passengers, i’m a fan of exploring myself to taking people to see new and interesting things seemed right up my alley.  One of my biggest missions was to take a rich client and her friends to go see a Watery Paradise. At 2000ly away is wasn't a small trip just over 100 jumps away the journey there didn't go to plan either. Upon entering a system my steering went down for no reason. Now picture this, say your driving along in what ever it is you ride be it a ship, a car ANYTHING it doesn't matter but you driving it as fast as it could possibly go. Then suddenly the steering goes and you have no control over anything. Sure you could push the breaks but in ships we don’t have breaks so picture they have broke as well. At scary speeds your going straight ahead with no means of stopping except the only thing in front of you, could be a truck, a wall or in my case a trucking SUN! Frantically i try to turn or stop hitting every button i could, closer and close the sun engulfed my vision its blinding burning fury been the only thing i could see. The passengers screaming through them coms at me, i hear some of them crying and i don’t blame them. We were about to die. Dragged out of super cruise and still slowly heading towards certain doom, pulled in by gravity and rapidly heating up i boot the control panel over and over. It worked it actually worked. Not staying to long in shock i dropped a heat sink to cool down the ship and zipped it around full power to the engines i headed away. I wasn’t going to escape that easily though flipping through the navigation panels i targets a system directly in front and after dropping another heat sink i jumped away.  In the next system i stopped the ship and took a breather before going to go check on the passengers. They were ecstatic some even laughing through the tears. I told them the problem and that i was running a repair sequence so it wouldn’t happen again. One of the passengers who had been sat quietly since i entered the room then burst out laughing and said and i quote ‘ Well that’s going to make one heck of a story when we get back home, better then some boring planet at least”. The rest of the tip went as smooth as butter and we made it to the destination and what a beautiful place it was.

We stopped for the night and the girls had found the bar drinking Centauri Mega Gin like it was water, i think it’s safe to say that tomorrow they will all be hung over and sleeping throughout most of the trip. This of course is good news for me as it means i can then listen to the Hutton Orbital Radio Truckers weekly show with out to many distractions.   Now if you remember from before radio offers many fun things and i especially enjoyed this weeks as not only was i mentioned on the top trucker section i also correctly guessed the theme of the show and i will soon be the owner of a Hutton Radio Mug. My tea is going to stay so hot in this and its going to look great in my cup holder.

 After all this weeks happenings i decided to take it a little easier. Haha who am i kidding i jumped in my Space Urchin and supped that up for a bit of bounty hunting which is a fast way to make credits as long as you know what your doing and who you can take on. You wont see me taking on anything to big at least not by myself, that’s why the best place i have found to bounty hunt are High Res sites. Not only do they have a lot of wanted people trying to steal cargo off the poor miners out trying to make an honest wage, they also are teaming with Feds so if you pick the right targets they will come along and lend a helping hand while you of course reap the rewards.

I would say that is all i have for this week but after a long talk with CMDR Psymons and some other Hutton Truckers we decided and have been accepted to become custodians of the new Hutton system. Luyten 145 -141. Its a beautiful system with a stunning white dwarf star greeting you when you drop in. I’ll let you know another time what else this system has to offer but for now fly safe and i’ll update you in a weeks time.

Week 6 - 19/02/3304

After a great nights rest and a few ship repairs. I began my day with a piping hot mug of tea and toast. While chowing down i contacted two of my friends who finally got their pilots licence while i was away. While CMDR Psymons had already got the hang of what to do and had now move up from his loaned Sidewinder to a Viper MKIII, CMDR RDash had not.    I deiced to help him out of course and trucked my way to Maia to pick up some Meta Alloys. These been the most expensive commodity the plan was to pick up, pass them to him and he will then sell them and earn some Cr. Averaging at about 90k per Meta it wasn't long before he too had bought a Viper. Lending another guiding hand i told him what would be the best options mission wise he could do, as i cant keep spending money all the time i had to earn it all myself he can do the same.

Soon after i met up with CMDR Psymons and though we had planned to do the same he changed his mind and we just went trucking around HOT Space, buying goods at low prices then moving along to sell them to places that need them for more. Its slow work trucking like this but its honest work and it was refreshing to not have to fork out a load but instead to work as a team.

Week 5_6 - 06_18/02/3304

After Just under two weeks i finally arrive back in the bubble and am able to tell you about all the things a saw and one of my problems. Remember when i said i had forgotten something yeah well it never came to mind on what it could of been. Turns out it was important, majorly important. After a few hundred jumps of which included Neutrons and a couple white dwarfs my FSD started to malfunction. Turns out i needed an Auto Field-Maintenance Unit to fix this which of course was what i forgot. Anyway i thought well its not that much of a problem it will sort its self out and i wasn't going to turn back now i was this close so on i plodded. In hind site i wish i had of turned back because this plagued me throughout my whole journey but i’m home now and my ship is now getting repaired.

10 Jumps to Sag A*

After hanging around there for a bit i then moved onto my next destination The Great Annihilator. I did end up getting a lot closer to this one with it been a smaller black hole, which doesn't make it any less impressive i might add. Sadly i only have a pic from far away. You don’t want to be messing around with a camera anywhere near these, well not unless you have a death wish and want to be turned into space spaghetti.

From there i flew across to the system  EORL AUWSY SY-Z D13-3468 to see some of the Guardian Sites and maybe grab a couple of relics. I’ve heard there are some closer to the bubble so i would recommend you go ahead but bring an SRV if you want to get your hands on some of the relics. Also its pretty fun to drive around the bases and get a closer view.

Then came the long 20k ly trip back home which was made even longer due to my FSD malfunctioning like crazy. I arrived home on the 18th and handed in all the date i had collected which really wasn’t a lot considering i had data for black holes and a load of systems that i had scanned fully and claimed first on. The biggest system i scanned fully had 55 planetary objects to scan and i claimed them all. Still i deserve a good nights rest as you cant really sleep well in deep space or at least i cant, you never know if even a small meteorite will come hurtling through space and cause damage you cannot repair. I kept myself up most nights drawing and looking out at the stars.

These are just a few of my creations but as of right now i’m going to rest then catch up with some friends tomorrow.

Day 29 - 05/ 02/3304

My Asp arrived finally. 

There isn’t much else i can say about today apart from that i will once again lose the access to update you all while i’m out there.If i can though i will try update weekly but that isn’t a guarantee as Sag A is pretty far away itself then i have to get back to the bubble. A week would be amazing if nothing goes wrong while I’m out there. So wish me luck as i go venture out to one of the most dangerous places in the galaxy Sagittarius A.

Day 28 - 04/02/3304

14 hours to wait unluckily that crosses over into the next day, luckily though that dose mean i also get to find out some more about this place.  After a bit of a stressful day ordering supplies and arranging flight plans i had the feeling i had forgotten something. Knowing me it would of been something small like restocking the toilets with paper but after a check it wasn't. Really cant put my finger on what it could be.  Later on that evening after scouring the local data banks and downing cups of tea i happened upon some information you may find interesting. Heck i know i did. It’s a bit of a history lesson though but it’s one on how humans came the inhabit this otherwise dead area of space accidentally.

Now from what i have read Jaques used to be a normal human like me or you only except not like me or you as he got drafted into working for some Black Ops, involuntary. The reasons why i have no clue as it turns out he was pretty useless just the way he was because he failed his physical exam. Did the Federation kick him out after that? Oh no they didn’t instead they altered him into a cyborg so he could fight effectively. Can you imagine that? How would you feel? This guy had a family and friends, a normal life. Now hes been dragged from them and had his full body changed and manipulated through no choice of his own. Not only that but in the war he was then sent out to fight in he was captured by Imperial Forces and experimented on. Been disassembled then reassembled over and over and this guys tale just gets sadder as we go on.     Following the war, Jaques' cyberization became subject to a legal tangle between the Federation and the Empire over who owned his cybernetic components. Jaques not only had to pay off the modifications done to him by the Feds, but after seeking Imperial medical assistance to remove a genetic disease that they had planted on him, he was then forced to work hazardous jobs for a century to pay off the bills. While working one of these jobs he lost the use of his legs in a mining accident which also damaged his brain.   Afterwards with his debts paid he wanted to settle down somewhere with decent technicians to keep him maintained. Jaques obtained a position as bartender in the newly-built Peters Base station orbiting Topaz in Facece. By 3200, after two centuries. Yes you read that right. Jaques had secured ownership over half of the station. He then began to dream one of which was to buy out the rest of the station, attach  massive engines to it, and use it to explore the galaxy.   By 3300, Jaques had made his dream a reality, despite some delays; he had to exchange Peters Base for a more resilient Orbis. Once done and after taking it for several tests near the human bubble, he then attempted to jump his station to Beagle Point. I’ve spoken about how far away this place was before but to even contemplate doing such a thing is kinda mental, then again this man cant die so what would he have to lose. Even so he was unfortunately unsuccessful due to a Unknown Artefact interfering with the station's drives. This resulted in Jaques and his station becoming stranded in Colonia.

Day 27 - 03/02/3304

With still 38 hours to wait until my Asp Ex arrives i today decided to go find out about some more groups and did in fact come across something quiet amazing. I would make you guess but then i could be here for sometime as i’m not sure anybody even pays attention to these posts but like a child with a diary i will still carry on writing.  Anyway as i’m still fairly new to the Hutton Truckers and this is my first time to Colonia i didn't know about the sister group. Cruising along taking in the sites when suddenly a for “For the Mug!” appears in my Direct Coms. Quickly I reply and have a look at the CMDRs log. They where allied with a fraction called HOTCOL. After asking about it the CMDR then told me i haven't seen half of what Hutton have to offer here and sent me a system location to go visit, Eol Procul Centuari. They said i would know where to go from there. Curiosity got the best of me so of i went.   Jumping in and quickly doing a system scan i went to my navigation panel and started to scroll. They where right. I knew exactly where to go.

Hutton Moon.  Cruising closer to the planet i noticed it had a station and i couldn't help but burst out laughing. Fort Mug! Fort bloody Mug!

 I’ve learned not to ask about the mugs now there’s just so much that doesn't make sense. Maybe it started out as a joke but quickly just became the norm over time. Would be nice to have a shiny mug in my cockpit though.

Day 27 - 02/02/3304

I awoke today renewed and ready for more exploring. If i have made it this far how far can i go. Looking at the galaxy map i notice i wasn’t to far away from Sagittarius A, what a sight that would be to see. Unfortunately here in Colonia there wasn’t anything i could really do to turn my Python from a cargo hauler to a speedy explorer. Having over 100 mill in the bank though i went to the closest ship transporter station and put in a request for my Asp Explorer. The clue been in the name for why.

Costing me 18 million and 61 hours of time i had to find something to do around here. Bouncing around from station to station i came across other fractions we don’t see around in the bubble. Since i’m here for a few days i think ill go find out a little bit more about them.

The Fuel Rats

We have fuel you don’t, any questions. Is their slogan and i’m sure you can guess what they do. If you go out exploring and get into a sticky situation where you get stuck around unscoopable stars or just plain up forget to check your fuel gauge. Then you hit these CMDR’s up and they will get to you as fast as they can with fuel for you. After giving you a stern talking to about checking your fuel always they will send you on your way. Some CMDRS have racked up other 200 rescues so it’s easy to see how often this happens.

Day 26 - 01/02/3304

1513 jumps, 45 hours, in about 3 days, i’m exhausted my mind is frazzled but i finally made it. All alone in the black chugging along star after star after star. 

I made it.

I knew i was close when i had pirates chasing me around the systems but no way they where getting their grubby mitts on my cargo. I’ve tried to hard to get here i was not going to fall at the last hurdle and now I've done all i could i will rest for a while. Delivering my Asp here to so I've got 61 hours to burn before i get out there again.

Day 23 - 29/01/3304

DOVE ENIGMA HAS BEEN ATTACKED.

Now i know what your thinking from my recent entries but no this wasn't the Thargoids, this was done by vile individuals. The reason why i say vile is because the Dove is a special mega ship, as its a memorial station built for a exploration CMDR who goes by the same name. There is luckily a solution to this and it seems many are willing to help. We will need to deliver Meta-Alloys to help fix the station after its UA Bombing. My Python is my only cargo ship at this moment in time but with 168 tonnes on board it’s jump range is down to 16 light years. Dove needs to be fixed though, so off i go along with so many others across space, i wont be able to report back in the vastness of deep space but i will be sure to note everything down for when i can.

Day 20 - 26/01/3304

After yesterdays experience i collected the meta-alloys i needed for Farseer and using other materials i found managed to upgrade my Asp Explores frame ship drive a bit, and can no do a max jump of 35 light years. While it may not seem like much it is sure handy for getting you to places a lot faster. Deciding to take it out for a bit of a test drive i went to see the Witch Head nebular which is pretty darn close to the bubble.

Feeling this wasn't far enough for a test drive though i then travelled inwards to the Trifid nebular. 

This i can say for sure was a big enough test drive but boy was it worth it. not only did i see some amazing sites i also arrived back to the bubble for a data drop and found i had discovered some things first. Now my name shall forever be among the stars.

Day 19 - 25/01/3304

While on my way to see the engineer Felicity Farseer today i tuned into Hutton Orbital Radio. Listening to the news i learned that once again another station has been attacked, 1000s of people need evacuating and then that station needs to be repaired. The way this is carrying on we may run out of stations as they’re destroying them faster then we can fix. I don’t think a single one has managed to be repaired yet and there’s close to 20 that have been attacked. I do wish good luck to all involved though. Its a dark time for us all.

Arriving at Farseers to see what she has on offer i learn i need to brig her back materials for her to get the jobs done. The first thing she wanted was a meta-alloy. Browsing through the shopping site i soon find out that there is only one place in the entire Galaxy that supplies these and they are far from cheap at 80k a pop. I need to do it though so i plot the route into my ships navigation system and set off to a place called Maia. 

Upon arrival i quickly scanned the station and cruised my way there. Dropping out i was met with such a shock. 

It was a station that had been attacked. My heart sunk as i gazed at it, a few ships where dotted around probably helping with repairs of security in case the Thargoids come back fr another round. Creaking and rattling it floated there, sparks shooting out the exposed electrics. Curiosity of course got the better of me so i flew around to see the entrance.

Warning lights span through the darkness illuminating the entrance. Once pristine has now been torn and mangled. The pilots navigating this must of been experts and they have my respect.

Hearing it on the news is one thing but seeing it with my own eyes and not even realising they where so close scares me. It’s all becoming to real. Stay safe out there.

Day 15 > 18 - 21 > 24/01/3304

It’s been a while since i’ve written but i’m finally back from just a short exploration out away from the bubble. While i stayed fairly close its amazing how much you can see. From multiple suns in the same system to systems that are so empty its lonely. From planets so close to their suns they’re scorched black to small planets so far away there frozen. Planets with dazzling rings and beautiful colours then the beige ones bland but still beautiful in their simplicity. I will share some of the things i saw on my travels.

Once i arrived back to the bubble and docked at a station. I learned that i had racked up quiet a pretty penny in exploration data, 176 million and some spare change. Due to this amount i now had over 200 mill Cr, it’s the perfect time to by that Python i’ve had my eyes on for a while and still with money left to kit it out with all the best stuff. This beauty is going to be my new cargo truck holding close to 200 tonnes of cargo. I call her Echinoidea.
