Own Experience:

January 17th, 2016-

Last night, concert tickets for EXOPLANET #2 - The EXO'luXion with EXO were released at 7PM for the Chicago venue. We were both excited and nervous about the whole thing. We were scared about not getting a ticket, but at the same time excited thinking about seeing EXO in real life and not behind a computer monitor. We stayed on TicketMaster since 4PM, not wanting the page to take forever to load. At 7PM our sisters refreshed the page and the fight to get tickets started. We both had troubles, the page had technical difficulties due to the massive amount of people trying to buy tickets. After about 10 minutes, Celina finally got her tickets! They got the tickets they wanted, right in Section C. After an hour on the site trying to refresh and search for new seats, my sister and I gave up. The tickets sold out. I cried for about an hour. I’ve been watching the making of the concert since last year. Since my sister was going to be in LA the weekend of the EXO concert at the LA venue, we decided to get tickets there instead. 

Not even 20 minutes after tickets for the Chicago concert sold out, people were already selling the tickets for double, even triple, the original price. We were glad we got our tickets by the end of the night. For whoever is scalping the tickets, stop doing it. It’s illegal and it enrages fans who actually want to go for the original prices that were posted. If no one buys the scalped ticket, it would just be a seat wasted that could’ve went to an actual fan.

          Kcon: A three-day K-pop convention in the U.S. that occurs annually. It started in 2012 in California and eventually expanded to New York in 2015. The convention includes tons of booths related to K-pop or Korean culture during the day and K-pop concerts at night. Throughout the years, the convention has gained popularity and an increase in attendance.
