In March, we asked you all to complete an advisor/advisee relationship survey. Thanks so much to all of you who participated, we were shocked by the great response rate! We promised to give away Kindles for some lucky participants. So this is a little awkward.... but if you are reading this and don't have a free Kindle from the GSA already, we are sad to report that you did not win the lottery.... thanks for your help though. It's not you, it's us. We wish you the best in your future endeavors and hope this doesn't affect our friendship. There are plenty of Kindles in the sea, you deserve one that will make you happy.

The US Senate HELP (Health, Education, Labor and Pensions) is currently considering legislation to reauthorize Higher Education Act. Some of the issues this prospective legislation will deal with include federal student loans (interest rates & funding caps), federal work-study programs, loan forgiveness, Title IX and campus free speech. Members of the committee have urged current, former, and future students and their families to share their personal stories about what they think Congress should tackle. If any of these issues affect you, please submit your story with your first name and hometown, to [email protected] by Friday, February 23, 2018.

Hey, so I don't know if you know this but there's a movie called Black Panther and it's ~kinda~ a big deal. It premieres this weekend! If you're free tomorrow (Saturday) evening at 7:05pm and can get to the Southside Works Cinema, come pick up a FREE ticket to see Black Panther. Tickets can be claimed between noon-1pm tomorrow (Saturday) by stopping by the GSA office, located in the University Center - third floor, room 304. Tickets are available on a first-come basis.
