I found your comic and it somehow brought back a phase (it wasn't a phase) that has been living quietly in the back of my brain for 12 years. I tried very hard to tell myself I was over it... turns out I wasn't. 😂

Summary: Your brilliant boyfriend is a warrior, a genius, a gentleman, and above all - curious. He loves asking questions. But sometimes his questions can be just a little out of pocket..
Donatello was the king of asking out of pocket questions. Sometimes it was dark, gross stuff like ‘how much pressure would it take to crack a regular turtle shell versus one of ours?’ and other times it was cute, playful things like ‘how many forehead kisses would it take to make you blush?’ or ‘do unicorns really exist? and if so, what ecosystem would they be best suited to live in?’
His completely out of the blue questions always caught you off guard but the biggest shocker came about two years into your relationship. You were simply relaxing in the lair, doomscrolling on your phone while Donatello tinkered away at something beside you, his tongue sticking out in concentration.
He called out your name in a soft voice and without looking up, you responded with, “Yeah, D?”
“I have a question. Do you want to make a child with me?”
You let out a tiny squeak of surprise, almost dropping your phone as you whip around to face the technological genius dressed in purple.
“Excuse me?”
Donnie was far too absorbed in whatever gadget he was reconstructing to see your dumbfounded expression.
“It’s all hypothetical of course. If I could separate the human DNA in my turtle DNA and mix it with your DNA then theoretically, we could create a totally normal human child.“
“Donnie.”
“Of course, in order for the child to retain absolutely none of my turtle DNA, it would have to be a 25-75 split. 25% me and 75% you. I would have to use more of your DNA to make up for the loss of mine.”
“Donnie.”
“Though taking into consideration the affects mutagen might have on-“
“Donatello!”
Donnie froze when you used his full name, adjusting his goggles as he turned to face you.
“Yes?”
“You just asked me if I wanted to have a kid with you.”
“Well technically i said ‘do you want to make a child with me?’ but yes, that is correct.”
“I don’t think you realize what you just said.”
“Huh?”
“Oh. Oh.”
Donatello turned bright red and despite his affinity for the color purple, he looked awfully adorable in a different shade. He slowly started to shrink into his shell, stammering quietly as his mind tried to desperately form just a singular rational thought.
But the supercomputer that was Donnie’s brain was temporarily closed, experiencing a multitude of technical difficulties due to overheating and just pure embarrassment.
“I-I didn’t intend to imply that. I was simply referring to the- to the process of artificial insemination and IVF. I, uh, I apologize for any confusion I might’ve caused.”
Donnie was rambling so fast that you could barely keep up. His voice got high pitched and squeaky, a clear indicator that he was full on panicking. You reach out and place your hand over his, watching as the anxiety almost instantly faded away from his body.
“It’s fine, D.”
He shuts up with a shaky exhale, looking up at you with those famously sad puppy dog eyes.
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. Maybe one day we can actually put that theory of yours to the test. Just maybe not today, yeah?”
Donnie nods and reluctantly pulls away, returning back to the project he was working on. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, he called your name again, absentmindedly twirling a pencil in between his fingers. You look up from your phone, a tiny smile tugging at your lips.
I’m probably leaving things out and more may need to be added in the future but but I can say that this comic will depict: violence, mental health issues, panic attacks, self-hatred, self-destructive behavior, dissociation, trauma, PTSD, grief and character death; so read at your own discretion!

The official name of the au is now "Burned Bridges," but feel free to keep calling it the "villain mikey au." I probably will too, just so no one is confused lol.
Note: I’ve never made a AU or shared any sort of extensive story like this before so I’m still figuring things out! Just letting you know because you will likely witness my struggles and learning process when it comes to storytelling and comic-making throughout this comic lol 😅
Whenever someone can't find something they're looking for, even through the phone or via text, I say "Yeah sorry, I ate it." And when they find it I say "Oh whoops what else did I eat then?" 😂😂

I was so scared of him just being pushed farther into the hell of being a side character but damn that episode was peak! I just hope they can keep that up for the second part of Season 4! 🙏🏻
