This is a study from a photo I took while visiting the home of some friends in LA a few years ago. The view from their old house was amazing!! “Zip zoop! Zeep zop! Electro-ro’bit will make crime stop!” - Just a fun and random doodle. I’ve been playing with starting some of these warmup pieces with three randomly generated colors and seeing where that base takes me. It’s fun working with colors that I may not typically use and getting them to work together. Another Hudson River School painting study. It’s been so fun learning about the use of color in these paintings. So much of the color is in a narrow band of hue (yellow to red for example) but the appearance of a wide range of hues is achieved using saturation. Lots of greys are used to appear as blues or subtle warms depending on what colors are surrounding them. I wanted a new icon for all the social medias so I painted this little cartoony self portrait. - I've been working on starting to stream on Twitch lately, and it's been giving me a lot more motivation to work on personal art.
