A @cobblers-wife walks through the doors of the library, both books in hand. Pausing again to take in the beauty of the building and the books within, Sierra sighs happily. Walking over quietly she gently puts the books down on the desk.

Saphron looks up at the sound of footsteps.

"Sierra, lovely to see you again. Had you any luck with your candle making?"

Saphron chuckles, taking the receipt. "I'm pleased to help, truly. I'm sure once you've got things ironed out there would be a great many customer who would be glad to have something like these fur lined shoes you've imagined to keep them warm."

Two days seems quick work to Saphron; she's pleased to know she'll have the meded pair of shoes so soon.

"I'll be seeing you in two days' time then!"

"I look forward to it! Thank you, by the way, for trusting us to care for an item that clearly has received care. I hope to give them the respect you have."

She smiles, "See you in two days!"

Saphron looks up at the sound of footsteps.

"Sierra, lovely to see you again. Had you any luck with your candle making?"

"Serendipitous indeed! Though I wouldn't fault you for being a bit glad for the state of my shoes, given your occupation." They smile, a playful sparkle in their eyes.

"I'll be to you this afternoon then."

Later that day, having retrieved the worn shoes from her home at House Triel, Saphron steps through the doors of the cobbler's shop.

A small bell hung on the door with a little carved bird as the clapper. Sunlight can be seen through the open window on the far side of the room where the workshop is. Closer to Saphron are chairs and a few shelves of shoes.

Sierra, hearing the bell, enters in from a doorway to the of the room. "Saphron! Welcome to our shop!" She waves a hand at the space. "Let us take a look at what we will be working on."

Saphron takes in the atmosphere of the shop—the smell of leather, the warm light seeping through the window along with a light breeze—it's cozy.

They smile seeing Sierra come through the door. "Ah, yes well," she produces the turnshoes from a heavy cloth sack at her hip. They've clearly been well loved and well worn, the leather of the sole having gone spongy and bending too readily.

"I imaging they may need replacing, but this is your area of expertise now, so I'll gladly defer to you."

Sierra gently takes the shoes from them. That the shoes were worn was clear, but also the time dedicated to them. "This will be a simple matter to fix for you! I do wonder, in the winter months do they keep your feet warm? I've been trying an idea of a softer shoe for indoor use that helps protect against cold floors."

"Oh, I'm glad to hear that it's so! I feared that I may have delayed too long in seeking their mending."

Saphron considers the question—they've not been particularly warm as of late, but that's likely due to the wear, and they couldn't say they minded much in the warmth of summer.

"Lord Triel's home has coverings over most of the floors, but I do find myself suffering a bit of a chill in the winter anyhow; I'd be curious to try these shoes of yours for myself."

"Fret not, these have been brought in the nick of time. Won't cost but four pence. And for the fur lined, as they're just me own idea so far I ask only that you give updates on if, when the cold months settle in, they keep yer feet warm. If they start to fall apart I will also patch them up for free.

She smiles and gently places the shoes on the work table and writes out a quick note of receipt. She brings it back over to Saphron so she could look it over before any other business went forward.

"Is that all?" She smiles warmly. "Seems a grand idea to me. I imagine I'll be quite comfortable come winter with shoes such as those—I wouldn't want to impose though, I'd be glad to pay for them. For the materials at least if you won't take coin for your time."

Saphron scans the receipt and fishes in her bag for a small pouch, producing four coins and dropping them into Sierra's palm.

"It won't be an imposement!" Sierra bobs a quick curtsy and then signs the receipt for Saphron's records. "As they are still yet to be made and will be very trial and error."

She laughs and she places the coins in a small bowl on the counter. "It may get to a point where you'll wish to pay me to release you from my wild experiment. But I do hope it will work out. As for the replacement I can bring them to you in two days time."

"Some, but only the most simple of progress. So far at least." Her tone is rueful, though hopeful. "I was hoping if it may be possible if I could bring this home again. But the perfuming..." Here she blushes slightly, "I do not think that is one that my brain can wrap around quite yet."

Saphron smiles, glad Sierra hasn't given up her new endeavor. "I can assure you that next to no one becomes a master quite so quickly as that. I'll mark down that you'd like to keep this one with you a while longer..." she trails off as she scrawls down a note.

"As it happens, I intended to visit you at your shop this afternoon!" She chuckles lightly, "I've a pair of turnshoes that are wearing so thin I may as well go without them."

Sierra covers her mouth, keeping the amused giggles inside. "Oh that's wonderful! Not the shoes - that we both had plans to visit the other. Oh turnshoes are so helpful. Depending on the wear-" She chuckles softly and shakes her head. "Apologies, almost started to talk shop immediately."
