Happy Half Birthday to my little man, Ollie Jay “the juice” I can’t believe it’s been six months. It’s flown by and yet so much has happened. He’s such a good sport. Always happy to do whatever it is we’re doing. He loves to play in the grass and smell the flowers. He loves when I act like a chimpanzee and likes to grab my beard and give it a real strong yank. Sometimes, I think to myself, man, I don’t know what everyone’s been talking about, this parenting thing isn’t so hard. Then I remember his mom @alicefountain does all the work. Including setting up this super cute little photo shoot. Isn’t she amazing? We’re all so lucky to have such a great team. It isn’t always as easy as I’m letting on but it is more than worth it and we got the love. Thanks so much to everyone who’s come through to visit and show us love. Convince me otherwise but Subaru is putting out the best looking Japanese cars right now. Which isn’t that hard because wtf is Toyota even doing these days? I’ll give Mazda some credit here because they seem to have some art in their designs but why would you bother with all of those front wheel drivers? Subaru’s have always been ugly ducking utilitarian lesbian soccer mommy haulers with a little outdoorsyness and an appeal to individualists. But as Honda, Toyota, and Nissan designs have all gone way off the rails and yet somehow remained boring, all Subaru had to do was make their cars slightly better looking. Now, if we could get some better performance in the cars similar to the WRXs or STIs then we might actually have a cool car. I’m not saying they’re cool. I’m just saying they’re cooler than everything else coming out of Japan. (Assembled in Indiana) I do like those 4runners and Tacomas though. I leased this car after my old outback’s engine blew out last year. They’re freaking everywhere now. As I write this at least three identical cars passed by. I saw a lifted 3.6R on mud tires this morning that looked friggin awesome. All this is to talk about this amazing underground street in downtown LA. I think that since I’ve been released early from jury duty I’m going to use the opportunity to use this as a BG plate for a concept vehicle. Perfect way to spend a rainy day.
