How to Login/ Buy Manhua from 大角虫漫画. (IOS edition)
1. First, you will need the apps below. ( I personally use the weibo app, and the bug app for this).
2. Create an account on weibo/ register a wechat account. (I managed to use an email address to create an account on weibo)
3. When you are done downloading the bug app, run it and the login screen will look like this.
Note: when I tried to create account using email on this app, it will prompt me for a phone number (mainland china) to send a verification code of sorts. Since I do not have a mainland china phone line/ Identification, the first option to create account does not work for me. I have chosen to login using the “weibo” icon below. I have tried with “weChat” as well, and it works for me as well.
4. When you have managed to login, depressing the last option (shown as colored at the bottom right hand of the page) will bring you to your account and show your account details.
5. Back to manhua page, I will show the rest of the tutorial using the manhua, “lily”.
As you can see, there are chapters that shows a padlock (those chapters are locked and need bug currency to unlock). When you first login, you will not have any currency, so clicking on the chapters that are locked will bring you to another screen to prompt purchase of currency.
This will show you the different packages that you can get (or rather the amount of currency you can get and their respective cost).
6. Clicking on any of those option will bring you to the screen below to prompt for payment. On the IOS, this prompt will appear from App store will appear, and you can click purchase.
7. Then going back to step 4 will show you how much credit you have in your account.
8. Other than buying chapters, you can also reward artists in other ways.
I have not tried these options yet, but I’ll be able to verify them when I managed to get to use them later.
Please take note, when you do not link a phone number to this account, you will not be able to comment on the reader’s post.
A side note: I have no success with login using an android app yet, since on android, payment for credits is done through Alipay and some other Chinese app that requires a mainland china bank account, hence by passing the login by using weibo/ wechat did not help me much at all. I’ll still continue to try that, but meanwhile, if anyone (NON-PRC) has a way to login via android, please share their experience too.
