Aabria has demonstrated talent, humor, and generosity among peers that keep inviting her back for a reason. If you're the kind of person to claim that reason is "DEI", you aren't worthy to kiss her ass, much less criticize her.
I have my gripes with how Aabria GM'd the Crownkeepers. I have my gripes with Deanna as a character ("Sunny D" and "Applebee's Soulcycle" with forever be iconic, though). I have my gripes with how Aabria apparently claimed nobody thought of giving an Abjuration wizard the Eldritch Adept feat before her just because she was the first to do it on a popular stream. I have my gripes with how she sometimes unironically acts like her characters' PR lawyer on social media.
My gripes would not justify me flooding forums of people trying to enjoy a show with toxic bile because a talented person who was hired for her voice has used it. My gripes would not entitle me to act like Aabria doesn't have every right to contribute to roleplay as she feels her character would. My gripes would not justify claiming her involvement in a given work has ruined it before it's even gotten off the ground. My gripes would not excuse dismissing her widely beloved contributions to the Actual Play medium as flukes or instances she was "carried" by others to succeed "despite" herself.
If anything, her Exandria work is the fluke (minus Laerryn Coramar-Seelie, who is 200% GOATed. So little of what makes Calamity great survives without her and if you think otherwise, you are in denial.)
Druids extending their senses through the plants and animals in their environment and being perceptive enough to overhear conversations they weren't included in has a lot of precedent in DND. In all her appearances across multiple Actual Play shows, Aabria has done NOTHING indicative of "main character syndrome", and her portrayal of Thaisha is no different thus far.
Good lord, people.
