remember when i talked about this before

here's one thing i noticed but i didnt share before cause i know people will dislike it but as a filipino who saw parallels being set up, when i saw the sign that lu placed in his door the first thing i thought of was actually a sign done against filipinos (and other pocs before).

can be intentional can be not but its food for thought (i have a lot of thoughts)

i didn't wanna share it during s2 height but now its something i wanna share because i still remember lucifer's whole bias against all sinners and this (intentional/unintentional) parallel of al's memories back in his living days during episode 4 and one with his scenes with lucifer

lucifer's discrimination against sinners really run deep and i think it would be good if more writers tackle this especially with alastor's backstory as a poc during his era where racism/discrimination is at its most high because i still believe alastor really snapped and quit the hotel because of the things that lucifer said hit close to home

Idk where we got this idea that Alastor is this suave, emotionally-detached character with Vox because he knows Vox is a pathetic dog who will always come crawling back to him when in canon Alastor was so deeply unsure of whether Vox would betray him or not that he viciously severed the friendship when he got the slightest hint Vox would before Vox could get the chance to stab him in the back.

I like the idea that while Vox is a tv who can record anything and play the moment back exactly, video and audio, Alastor can play things back but only the audio because he's radio. So while Vox remembers that fateful moment from 70 years ago for all its glory, Alastor only has the audio. And without the visual to accompany Vox's words, it became a lot easier to twist the intention in his mind, since he couldn't look back and see the sincerity in Vox's eyes.

Fandom becoming less taboo to be a part of has caused new and original stories to not feel as satisfying, mostly because a lot of people can't differentiate between the story given and the story that could have been.

A big chunk of people engage in fandom, find fanartists and fanfic writers and people sharing random headcanons and AUs, make up their own version of the story in their head, and then when the story doesn't end up being this very specific and personally tailored concept, they don't like it. It has started to become expected the media to be EXACTLY up for your standards for you to enjoy it. And oh, when your headcanon gets disproved, or the side character you've convinced yourself is who the story should be about doesn't get enough attention, suddenly the writing is trash and there's too much focus and JESSICA, BUT YOU LIKE CINDY MORE, WHY DON'T WE KNOW MORE ABOUT CINDY, NO ONE EVER LIKES JESSICA BUT THE WRITERS KEEP TRYING TO MAKE HER SYMPATHETIC AND INTERESTING!

Would I have enjoyed Hazbin more if Charlie was less annoying and the Vees and Angel were more important? Hell yes, I'm still praying for a Vees spin off show! Do I wish The Amazing Digital Circus focused more on the existential dread and not scheming over the "oh, we are just copies of the real people! Damn, there's no way out, let's have a tea party!" Yes.

You are allowed to like a piece of media and have problems with it and think "but I would have done it better!" Pick up your media of choice and do it. Rewrite the ending and make it into a comic. Write a 100k word AU where your favourite side character is the focus.

Yes, this is mostly about The Amazing Digital Circus, specifically Jax. Who could have guessed that the character based on the creator ends up being important! Unheard of! You don't like Jax being trans or how it was handled? Welp, sucks to suck, write it yourself then, or at least find a person who has written it in a way you deem better.

Have problems with media, hell I have so many issues with Hazbin and that's why I write my silly little fanfics and have my miles long headcanons! Social media is purposefully pushing negativity so you engage more! There is absolutely no way you'll find any piece of media that's 100% perfect UNLESS YOU MAKE IT YOURSELF! I swear so many people have forgotten that!
