The view from the SEAT OF POWER (tm) atop Rauros. AKA Amon Hen. AKA that one place where Boromir went crazy and Frodo decided fleeing uphill made more sense than down.
This might be my favorite pastime in LOTRO, second only to seeing which cliffs I can jump off of and survive. (Though those don’t make good pictures.)
When first questing in Wildermore, I stumbled upon this frosty goat meadow which has no quest usage (to my knowledge). I love finding hidden out-of-the-way places, so had to snap a few pics. Coordinates are 31.9S, 67.1W.
Floid and Dewitt, Through Their Eyes, Location 7/7: Moria. Coordinates are 2.6 S, 105.9 W.
By far the easiest to get to (forget what I said about Evendim), just ride from the 21st Hall north to Jazargund then keep going north until you can’t anymore. Ta-da!
Floid and Dewitt, Through Their Eyes, Location 6/7: Mirkwood. Coordinates are 17.5 S, 46.2 W.
This one’s a little tricky and I would recommend being overlevel unless you want to fight through a bunch of orcs.
From the eastern entrance of Garmadh-maudhul (orc camp), follow the path up the hill then turn right as soon as you can. When you get to the edge of the cliff, turn right again and they’ll be right there.
Floid and Dewitt, Through Their Eyes, Location 5/7: Lothlorien. Coordinates are 14.4 S, 74.8 W.
This is a heck of a climb to get to, but so worth it. Ah, Lorien! Just keep climbing the path by the waterfall that lets into the Mirrormere and you’ll find them at the very top.
Floid and Dewitt, Through Their Eyes, Location 4/7: Lone-lands. Coordinates are 31.3 S, 36.6 W.
For this one, climb to the top of Weathertop and look around the eastern edge - they’re very close to the drop.
Floid and Dewitt, Through Their Eyes, Location 3/7: Evendim. Coordinates are 14.2 S, 73.5 W.
Probably the easiest to get to (if you don’t mind swimming for a few days), this is located on a small island SW of Tal Ruinen, it even shows up on the map! While you’re there, be sure to check out the sandcastle.
Floid and Dewitt, Through Their Eyes, Location 2/7: Enedwaith. Coordinates are 68.6 S, 8.4 W.
This is not that hard to find, but you will need to navigate around some giants and their huts. Happy hunting!
And so begins a new series: The Adventures of Floid and Dewitt, Through Their Eyes! I’ve gone around to every Floid and Dewitt location and taken a shot (or two or three) of the landscape in the direction they happen to be looking.
This is my absolute favorite hidden deed in the game, in which the player must find the erstwhile traveller Dewitt and his faithful steed Floid at some very obscure locations throughout Middle-Earth. If successful, you gain the title ‘The Wanderer’.
Location 1/7: Dunland - 84.7 S, 28.1 W
This is probably the hardest one to find - you must enter the Pristine Glade (located in SW Dunbog) and look for a hidden entrance on the left just past the bridge covered by ivy. Follow the path and you’ll come to a beautiful hidden lookout point. Good luck!
So I did a lot of the quests for the ‘Aiding the Wold’ deed before convincing Miri to come back here just to take pictures. Loves me some mossy, blue-lit ruins!
Gerngarth is an instanced public area accessible on certain days (the quests trade off) from Wulfin in Harwick, Rohan.
Just officially changed the blog name so it reflects my main toon, so I thought I’d post one of her backlogged pictures to remind everyone what she looks like. Codella Mosstoes, everyone!
This was taken after I’d finally gotten enough Turbine points (LOTRO points) to get the two dye packages I wanted for the war-steed and then spent about 30 minutes riding around the Michel Delving neighborhood with glee.
Her name is Ember and she's meant to be a blood bay and I loooovvveee her.
I’m feeling winter-y today - let’s do some Balewood, shall we? I enjoyed this area of Wildermore so much, words cannot express.
Do you ever just get the urge to stand on a precipice and play a song? No, just me?
Locations are Rivendell and Lhan Colvarn, Dunland.
I call this one: Surprisingly Beautiful Evil Lairs. Featuring Agistath in Southern Mirkwood and some pretty Rohan caves.
(Been a while, huh?)
Whee, I’ve been waiting a looong time to add this particular post: The Moria Keg!! For those unfamiliar, this is the best a housing item you obtain from the Spring Fest for 13 leaves. When you drink from it, you become a sad panda, lose your pants, and end up in some really crazy locations in Moria, most of which are unreachable by any other means. Here, have a list:
21st Hall abandoned tavern (unreachable): 5.6S, 104.9W
Foundations of Stone ceiling spike (unreachable): 14.1S, 96.8W
Great Delving Palace of Nain camp (unreachable): 7.2S, 112.9W
Redhorn Lodes broken pillar (unreachable): 10.5S, 103.6W
Nud Melek statue (unreachable): 9.4S, 101.1W
The Waterworks campsite ledge (unreachable): 16.8S, 113.9W
Chamber of the Crossroads well: 5.1S, 112.1W
Also, the pictures are blurry and sepia because Codella was stone drunk the whole time. I felt it lent more authenticity to the experience to not turn down the graphics. Try not to get dizzy!
Ice cave, ice cave, ice cave!! Have I mentioned I love Forochel? Cause I really do.
