The Himawari 8 weather satellite shot these frames of a large, circulating low pressure system as it moved north towards Alaska.
Beauty of a low pressure system.
Emanations
City at night
when you know a word in english but not your native language
when thereās no english equivalent to a word from your native language and vice versa
accidentally switching between your native language and english in a sentenceĀ
hearing someone speak your native language when youāre on vacation on some weird ass country
All of this, yes.
I can relate completely.
The first two are to legit to quitā¦
The first one is a regular occurrence for me.

A topdown view over an airport.
I was browsing the web in search of some nice images to use without worrying to much about licensing. I found the Pixabay website which claims to have 550 000 free high quality images (photo, vector, illustration and videos) which are released free of copyrights under Creative Commons CC0. This means you can use the images royalty free for anything you like. Both commercial and non commercial. Although it's always nice to attribute the works of another, it's not mandatory as well. Have a look at the site and tell me what you think. Registration is free. I'm not affiliated to the site, just like it and wanted to share it. #publicdomain, #public, #domain, #pixabay, #images, #photo, #vector, #illustration, #video, #free

In Pursuit of the Perfect Aviation Photo with @jamescarrollla
Celebrate the Wright brothersā first flight anniversary by exploring #aviation. To see more flight photos from James, follow @jamescarrollla on Instagram.
James Carrollās (@jamescarrollla) first flight was from Tampa to Atlanta at age 6 ā and the 35-year-old, Los Angeles-based photographer has been obsessed with planes ever since.
Where do you mostly shoot?
Runway 24 Right at LAX. People always ask me if I have airport access. I donāt. You can get so close.
Do you have a pilotās license?
No, but I love to fly. Iāve been pursing a million miles ā I have 600,000 now ā and I hope to get it before Iām 40. I fly to London in a day just to get the miles.
Which makes for a better shot, takeoffs or landings?
Landings. Takeoffs are so far away ā although personally I do like shots of the sky and the clouds and a little tiny plane somewhere in the frame. But landings are way more dynamic.
What is the perfect aviation photo?
Sun, dark clouds ā all the other elements that create the mood of these planes. I know what Iām looking for and Iāve come close. There are times when Iāve stood out there, completely amazed at the weather, and said, āNow I just need a big plane to come.ā
