Titans Return but should Sixshot return?

     Honestly I’m surprised that Sixshot didn’t make his last stand fighting the DJD. It’s good this didn’t happen so he could make a return at some point. A great time for him to return would be right now for Titans Return. It looks like he’s getting a toy in the Titans Return line so I think there’s a good chance we’ll see him back. My question is where in Primus’s name is he? 

     Sixshot was last seen in Spotlight: Metroplex where Metroplex steps on him. Let me clarify. A City sized robot step on Sixshot... and he lived. Why isn’t Sixshot in like everything? So Sixshot might want to get some revenge on Metroplex (who say it with me) is a Titan. What role should Sixshot play in this hypothetical Titans Return story. 

     Originally I thought yeah it’d be cool to see Sentinel Prime and Sixshot team up and stuff. Then I gave it some more thought and well Sentinel Prime wouldn’t roll with no Decepticon ex or otherwise. Can I just take a quick moment to say just how great Sentinel Prime is (yes)? I frickin love Sentinel Prime... as a villain. He just one of those good old love to hate kind of villains like the Red Skull. I had a segway but it’s in the shop so where just going to walk back to main subject boulevard. In Titans Return I think Sixshot should act independently of Sentinel Prime and be kind of the other big threat in the story. Any way feel free to say how you think Sixshot should be used in Titans Return? Should Sixshot be used in Titans Return? What would his holomatter avatar look like?

All-New All Sciencey Wasp

Spoilers for All New All Different Avengers issue 9! 

     I just want to say with the creation of (sigh) All New All Different I am super happy. While reading A-force (not recommended) a scene really stuck out to me. Captain Marvel  needs some information and says “Let’s keep it science- light ladies”. When she said that I ran through the roster on my head and came to the conclusion that on this all female team no of them were scientist. As someone who reads a lot of Marvel I was surprised I couldn’t name a single female scientist superhero. The only one that came to mind was Lady Spider who’s great, she just doesn’t have a solo series or is that mainstream (Spider-Gwen can sod off). So what does this have to do with the Wasp? 

     The (uhhh) All New All Different Wasp is  drum roll female, a scientist (and if all goes well) a superhero. Basically the (curse me for saying it) All New All Different Wasp is exactly what I wanted but Marvel went a step further. SHE FRICKIN HANK PYM’S DAUGHTER! Why is doe that matter?      What makes Nadia Pym even better is she’s not the daughter of Janet van Dyne .As a Pym fan I don’t like seeing Hank with Janet because it seemed like the relationship was messed up for both parties. Nadia’s mom is Hank Pym first wife Maria Pym who’s thing is not being alive. I think having Nadia Pym being Maria’s daughter makes more sense then if she was Janet’s kid and I personally prefer it. Last thing that makes Nadia Pym an intriguing character is  well she’s Red Room trained. The Red Room is wear Black Widow was trained and I think it’s going to be cool seeing Nadia’s past get reveled. What do I think Marvel should do with Nadia Pym?

     Give the Wasp her one book! Every character on the All New All Different Avengers (really Marvel) has their own book aside from Jarvis. It would be remiss to not Miss Pym a bloody book. In this hypothetical book I hope Wasp meets her “family” teams up with Black Widow and use the power of science to solve problems.

Just give her cancer

     I’m not a big Thor fan but I ended up reading the first volume of the female Thor book. . after finishing  it I thought ”man that was sure was a book about Thor”. My problem is I don’t really like Thor. I enjoy most marvel characters because of their flaws ie: Hank Pym’s Bipolar, Tony Starks ego and the Scarlet Witch’s insanity. Male Thor to  me never had flaws that I can really relate to/care about. I guess male Thor’s flaws are arrogance,  stubbornness and not being super smart. For the most part female Thor didn’t have many flaws if anything she had less flaws . How could Marvel make female Thor more  interesting?

     Let’s fast forward to issue 1 of all new all different Thor (really stupid title).So  how did marvel  make female Thor more interesting they just give her cancer. I feel like giving Thor cancer is a really easy way to make her a sympathetic character. It feels like a cheap way for people to feel sorry for the goddess of thunder. On the flips side though it absolutely worked giving Thor this flaw made the character feel more human… well at least to me any way. The scenes with Thor getting her chemotherapy are really powerful. I would pick up the first issue just for those scenes. We also learn that when Thor is out doing "Thor stuff" it negates the work of the chemotherapy. When we see Thor in her own book we know she’s dying and it makes action scenes more dark. I think the current Thor series is pretty ok except for the 3rd issue were Loki forced the “all new all different” tagline. The issue when our current Thor dies is probably going to be a really good one.

Not an Avenger?

So I use to be a hardcore X-23 fan were I had read almost all of her appearances which is uncanny for me. Then she joined the All New X-men right when I really started hating it. Sometimes I wish she had just died on the island. I digress why isn’t Wolverine an Avenger? He was so why isn’t she? Don’t know  don’t car.e Today I’m going to share with those who will read this why Wolverine  would be a good choice for any of the current Avenger teams.

     I’ll start with the worst (fit for Wolverine) which would be the New Avengers. The  current the team is  comprised of: 2 Young Avengers, 1 Thunderbolt, 1 New Mutant, Squirrel Girl and 2 Avengers Academy characters. Why should miss Laura join this team? She attend Avengers Academy and all though  she probably doesn’t know them well  X-23 at least has met Power Man and White Tiger. Really Wolverine should be on an Avengers team and having her join this team wouldn’t be that weird. Why shouldn’t Wolverine join the New Avengers because the team is mostly made up of c-listers and Wolverine would kind of change the style of the roster. My biggest problem with miss Kinney joining  this team is well I don’t want whoever does the art for New Avengers to draw her. Excluding the image above I haven’t seen any good art work of the current Wolverine and I don’t think the artist for New Avengers would change that. To me it seems Marvel has been trying to add more “diversity” to the main 616 and if you put Wolverine on this team I think you’d have a pretty good line up. The team I’m talking about is the All New All Different Avengers. (What a stupid name)

     The All New All Different Avengers (Which I’ll call Different Avengers) seems to me like Marvels premier Avengers team with their Captain Americas, Thors, and Iron Men. If you put Wolverine on this team you are saying Wolverine is absolutely an Avenger. This team has a mix of experience levels ie. Iron Man Cap and Vision being established heroes and Nova (or as I like to Kid Nova) and Ms Marvel being the newbies. Wolverine is the bridge between those levels having been created to kill, heroing for years but still being fairly young. To me the only reason you would not want her on this teams is because you would not want to be an Avenger. Quick side note besides Thor and Vision all of the solo books for the Different Avengers come highly recommended. Another series that comes recommended would be the Uncanny Avengers. (are you getting sick of the word Avengers because I am)

     The Uncanny Avengers team was formed in the wake of Avengers vs X-men. In AVX a point of the book was that when push comes to shove Wolverine is definitely Avenger if not an Avenger first. Steve Rogers made the team to show the world that humans and mutants untied could do cool stuff. Coincidentally Wolverine was a founding member of this bloody team. Currently the team has mutants, humans and inhumans  working together and I’ve said the magic word. In some book an inhuman device is dropped and was like poisonous to all the mutants. So there is a good reason Laura wouldn’t want to join the team. On the other hand mutant and human relations are at an all time low. Wolverine is a well know name with in the marvel universe so having any mutant with that name would add a ton of weight to a mutant human team. Also Deadpool and Cable are on this team an you would have a dream team if you also included the Wolverine. Really I just want there to be a clear reason why Wolverine is currently not on any Avenger team.

     X-23 makes for a good Wolverine being a clone and all but in issue 4 of her current series she says “ I know there are people who disapprove... guys on the internet mainly. But I’m not replacing him. I don’t really know what I’m doing yet.” As a guy on the internet I will say there really wasn’t a better person to be Wolverine maybe a better writer cough cough Marjorie Liu. And what the devil your not “replacing” him? Early X-23 was sometimes portrayed as almost a walking computer and in more recent times she’s seems not to be a complete idiot. My point being she should know what the word “replace” means. To some  capacity Laura you are taking the place of/ filling the role of. So go out there and be the Wolverine and join an Avenger team or give us a good reason your not going to do that. As always feel free to comment. Do you think Wolverine should be an Avenger?

Wrecking is Cruel

     Sins of the Wreckers spoilers! What does an autobot special task force do after the war? Look for any signs of decepticon resistance and slaughter them. In issue one of “Sins” we see the current roster of Wreckers are: Impactor, Roadbuster, Guzzle and coma Springer. We first see well rather here Guzzle yelling at Impactor from with in a box. He’s in the box for apparently massacring     some decepticon rebells. On the other hand Roadbuster it seems spends everyday reading to a comatose Springer. When on the battlefield how are the Wreckers?

     Springer looks at home on the battlefield command his troops the the light of the matrix in his optics. Guzzle and Roadbuster look as though they’ve come home  gotten comfortable and started making a mess. In an act so gruesome the DJD would blush Guzzle  literally rips a decepticon in half and drinks their energon. Sweet Solus prime that is messed up. Roadbuster just gleefully pummels a decepticon after being asked to stop by Springer. The others Wreckers Kup and Impactor see fine well not fine but not commenting war crimes. So why are Guzzle and Roadbuster saw violent?

     In “Last Stand” Guzzle is the smallest Wrecker and like  every other bot in the book was brutalized by Overlord. If memory severs me right I believe Guzzle got ripped in half by Overlord. When Seen in “Sins” though Guzzle is by fare the   biggest Wrecker in the book it is the most violent but why? I think Guzzle felt emasculated  (not a great word but couldn’t think of a better one) and wanted to feel powerful so he got more modifications for his body. Using his new body one could surmise he enjoys inflicting pain on helpless cons to know he more powerful.  Roadbuster on the other hand has always been pretty violent. In one incident know as the “Roadbuster affair” the bot feed a con their own spine. 

     I find the “ultra violence” Guzzle and Roadbuster display to be in character and interesting. Speaking of being in character I would not recommend trusting Hubcap and Verity Carlo is dying. Feel free to comment and share your own thoughts.

Along Came Some Spiders

     I thought Spider- Verse was a pretty good crossover with ton of cool spider characters. You can read my thoughts on Lady Spider here but suffice to say I really liked the character and wanted to see her in more stuff. I am happy to say Lady Spider is the focus of the back story in the comic “Web Warriors”. It was an ok story but I’m just happy she’s back. There’s another returning spider I wanted to stalk about so moving on. 

Read Widow is a new Marvel Character who first appeared in Mockingbird 1# back up story (What is it with Marvel and relegating cool new characters to back up stories?) Thought on Read Widow here. I forget that Black Widow Forever Red was coming out in October (thanks for the advertisement Marvel) so I just picked it up yesterday and will post about it whenever I finish it. If your existed for Lady or Red Widow feel free to comment.

I’ve Got Better Things to do Tonight Than Die (SPOILERS)

SINS OF THE WRECKERS SPOILERS! My big concern for this book was wether or not Springer (my favorite transformer) would live or die in his coma. The answer came at the end of the book on the final bloody page. SPOILERS (You should have already read this book ) Springer is alive and kicking. This was  a relief but Springer could still die you know because he’s a Wrecker and being wrote by Nick Roche. Kup’s monologue to Springer I thought was pretty powerful and I enjoyed how Spotlight Kup was referenced. I enjoyed this issue a lot and would like to know more about Hubcap and Stakeout. Really hope people can enjoy Arcce’s character because it looks like she’s going to be a major player. As always feel free to comment and tell me what character you were most happy to see return.

I like Idw Arcee

I enjoy Idw Arcee for 3 reasons. One, in pre RID she’s portrayed as a psychotic looking for revenge. I find it hard not to sympathize with characters who seek revenge on evil foes. 2, She is one of the few characters that is able to understand and kinda of trust Prowl. I think Prowl and Arcee make a pretty good team. What Prwol lacks in fighting skill and ability to just murder bots efficiently and effectively Arcee easily handles and what she lacks in being a master manipulator Prowl can take the lead I like how the 2 complement each other. 3 Swords. Swords are cool. She has swords. I really hope Arcee gets more fans after Sins of the Wreckers.

Scariest Autobot of All Time

 In my opinion Prowl is the Scariest Autobot of all time. When dealing with Prowl it’s very hard to get a grasp of what his goals are. He is a master manipulator using foes and friends as simple tools to achieve his goals. As a friend you can never be sure if he’s got your back. As an enemy you probably don't have to worry about him shooting you. What you should worry about it is who he sent. Prowl uses many characters he doesn’t even like such as: the Wreckers (aside from Perceptor) the Constructicons and even his ex Chromedome. When you deal with Prowl there is a pretty good chance your also dealing with Arcee who I already talking about. With firing a single bullet Prowls already beat you.

2nd Scariest Autobot: Fortress Maximus

Mtmte Spoilers! So after reading issue 45 of Mtmte and seeing good old Fort Max at the end of the book I felt something new, fear for the Decepticons. As a warborn bot Max only combat and is really bloody good at it. His pure strength and brutality make him a force to be reckoned with but it’s what happened at Garrus-9 that makes him a contender for scariest Autobot of all time.

On Garrus-9 Fort Max was tortured nearly to death and barley survived. The next time we see Fort Max online he immediately kills the nearest Decepticons by rip one in half  (as seen above) and literally beats the other one to death using the newly deceased Decepticon as a melee weapon. Basically this bot is nuts (seriously no pun intended) bringing fear to allies and enemies alike much like Arcee. Unlike Arcee it can be hard to tell what exactly will turn this bot into a living embodiment of death. My suggestion would be not to bring up Overlord. Tomorrow will be Halloween so happy Halloween and the most scary Autobot will obviously be the most logical choice.

3rd Scariest Autobot: Cliffjumper

I  think some of  idw’s best Transformers  stories can be found in their Spotlight one-shots. These issues always have character defining moments making the reader  totally understand the character and their motivations. After reading Cliffjumper’s spotlight I came to realize he may be small but this is definitely not a bot to mess with.

Why is Cliffjumper scary? In his spotlight Cliffjumper  is portrayed as a assassin killing Decepticons left and right in the shadows. Cliffjumper is scary because he shows just how brutal Autobots can be and that they might not be so different than their enemies. Tomorrow's bot bot will be just a tad bigger than Cliff here.

4th Scariest Autobot: Chromedome

When making this list I didn’t think Chromedome would be any where near it but here he is. Why is he here? One simple reason. He was able to scare Megatron (issue 28 of mtmte). When you are able to bring fear to the (SPOILER) ex Decepticon leader I think we can put you on the list of scariest Autobots. The reason Chromedome isn’t higher on the list is because aside from Megatron he doesn’t invoke hear in any Decepticons. Unlike tomorrows bot his mere description sends fear.
