22 may, 1:30pm // doing a different kind of studying today! iâm teaching my first yoga class tonight so i spent the afternoon going over some sequencing. iâm pretty nervous⌠fingers crossed that it goes well.Â
Coven Morgana is studiously back together.
5/100, today is a ÂŤ no kidding around Âť kind of day.
October 21 2015 12:05am / alot of Statistics and annotating going on at this hour đ˘
15 sept, 7:30am // good morning!! itâs raining!! not one of those five-minute deluges but a proper all-morning downpour. Iâm working through some Gawain romances with hot pomegranate tea while I wake up.
More pictures of my study space because most of you seem to enjoy them xx ( first o'level paper tomorrow rip me )
I wasnât insane until someone touched my heart.

whenever you're feeling unmotivated and sleepy:
⢠drink a big glass of water ⢠fix your posture and sit up straight ⢠do some stretches to get moving ⢠take some deep breaths ⢠straighten up the area youâre in a little bit ⢠listen to some intense classical music or just some upbeat tunes! ⢠get working! :)
November 5// âNo great achiever â even those who made it seem easy â ever succeeded without hard work.â~Jonathan Sacks
Nothing feels better than getting all your work done. Just completed all of my Calculus homework ahead of time. Now I have more time to focus on my mid-term.Â
FRENCH TIPS FOR BEGINNERS â
( this is tailored more towards IB students ) one of the requirements for the IB diploma is taking a language course thatâd be considered your second language. if youâre in canada, your school will probably make you choose french for this requirement. now idk about you, but when i was a freshman is school my french was shit . however, with some hard work & some hope, i was able to achieve a 6 in French B despite being predicted a 5 !Â
Grammar â
make sure to review your verb tenses !! ideally, you should be trying to use or review your verb tenses throughout the week, but i find that if you can dedicate about 15 minutes for reviewing your tenses at the end of the week, you wonât have to push yourself so hard to incorporate it in your writingÂ
if youâre given a writing task, donât just stick with one verb tense. the reason why your teachers give you in-class writing tasks/homework is so that you can use what youâve learned so far to effectively communicate your ideas ! if your teacher hasnât given you specific requirements to fulfill ( my teacher would actually make it mandatory to include a # of specific verb tenses / grammar ideas / vocab we learned ), make it a goal to use what youâve learned so far in your writing. itâll not only help you understand what youâve learned, but it will also make your writing more impressive & CLEAR.Â
donât forget about your me/te/vous/nous/y/en/ etc.. !! using these little grammar rules will distinguish a level 6 from a 5 â teachers like it when you can condense ur sentences bc it makes it more clear for them to read & shows that you have a high level of understanding of what youâre doing.Â
MASCULIN/FEMININ WORDS. if you get an assignment back & your teacher has circled articles that youâve gotten wrong (using le instead of la for example), REMEMBER THOSE MISTAKES. using the proper article for a word is such a pain in the ass sometimes, but this will also distinguish a lv. 6 from a 5.Â
use bonpatron for doublechecking your assignments. itâs an effective tool that will point our any grammar mistakes youâve missed. however, DO NOT USE IT as your only method for checking your work â check your own work first before using it. not only will it assure that u didnât miss anything, but you also learn better when you can find your own mistakes and correct them.Â
Comprehension  âÂ
one suggestion that my french teacher gave us was reading one french article per day. read a short one (like under 100 words bc no oneâs got time to read a lengthy article) & write down the words that you donât understand. after reading it, define the words you didnât get & write a short blurb (in french) on what the articleâs about. make sure to pick an article that relates to the options that youâre studying in school (e.g. science / technologie) bc itâll give you stuff to talk about in class discussions and strengthen your vocab for that section.Â
if youâve been blessed with one of those IB french b textbooks (my school couldnât afford them so we had to live w/ photocopies of particular articles), make an effort of finding time to do at least 2-3 articles throughout the week. IB is so particular with their answers for paper 1 (the reading one) so itâd be good to get in the habit of how IB thinks. itâll also help you w/ finding things to talk about for ur oral presentations.Â
oral presentations & the like  âÂ
participate in class ! i was a bit lucky during french bc my teacher picked on students & as someone who never participates in class, she made sure i got my fair share of talking done. however, not all teachers are like that â if youâre like me & you donât like talking in class, make it a goal to raise ur hand at least once a class. eventually, youâll want to participate.Â
again, participate in class !!!! for your final oral presentation (the interview), youâll be interviewed by your teacher ( at least, at my school you are ). youâll feel so much more assured & confident for your interview if youâve participated in class bc itâll feel a lot more natural.Â
donât memorize presentations. i used to do this in grade nine but i realized memorizing is the worst thing you can do for getting better. i know a lot of kids that continued to try to memorize their presentations throughout grade 10 & 11 and as a consequence, they didnât do nearly as good as those that didnât memorize (we were never allowed to bring notes up for french presentations).Â
01.11.2015 Taking a break from criminology. Surfing through tumblr and reading a new book I purchased.Â
Happy studying!Â
1. Itâs getting tougher, but you can do this. Now is the time to push through. Now is the time to really fight and show yourself you can do this. Because you can, and you will. 2. Donât hide your books, put them on your desk where you can see them so youâll be reminded that you need to study. 3. If you canât study at home, pack your books and go to that cute coffee shop you like so much. Sit in a quiet corner, order some tea and finish that essay. 4. Your mental health is just as import as your physical health. Take care of yourself. 5. Make a study schedule and write down everything you have to do for each class. 6. Donât panic. If you get overwhelmed by the amount of stuff you still need to study for, take a deep breath. Thereâs nothing you canât do. Take a look at your schedule and write down what takes the most and least time to do and prioritize it. 7. If it feels like the school days are getting longer and your weekend seems to be getting shorter; make plans on school days to get you excited to get up in the morning. Make plans to go bowling or get some drinks with friends, do whatever makes you want to get out of bed. You donât have to wait for the weekend. 8. Cramming a few days before a big test and getting sleep deprived is the absolute worst and so unnecessary. Take one or two hours each weekend to go over what you learned in class that week. By the time exams come around youâre prepared and well rested. 9. Everyone has an attention span of approximately 40 to 60 minutes. So push yourself harder sometimes and slow yourself down. Take breaks when needed, be realistic. 10. Donât just look at all the work thatâs still ahead of you. Take some time to celebrate the things you never thought youâd finish, but did. The boring essays, horrible presentations, difficult exams. You survived all of it and youâll survive this too. Iâm proud of you, and so should you. Keep it up, baby.

4.11.15 // Â âł âday 2/30 : survival kit This is super duper late as itâs day four already but I really wanted to post this. My studyblr survival kit includes coffee (because itâs yum), my laptop (which I use for literally everything), my bullet journal (because itâs the only thing that reminds me to hand my homework in on time) and my drink bottle which you can sort of see in the background (because water is amazing?)
