happy new year!!! bit late to the game, but there's nothing like starting a new bullet journal 🤧

how is everyone? i've been preparing for university, a job interview i have in a few weeks, and reading some good books :-)

So far being the co-editor of the university journal has just meant anonymising papers and organising the contributors, board of editors and peer reviewers. Now I am reading the contributors’ penultimate drafts myself and really enjoying being more involved in the process; thinking a lot about what we are going to write in the co-editors’ introduction. I really enjoy the mix of leading and involvement that comes with being an editor and it’s something I would love to do more of in the future.

Really really happy because I had a productive day (in my standards). Honestly ever since sophomore year started, I have just been slacking and been unmotivated and felt like I lost my sense of “drive” or “purpose.” I think it’s called the sophomore slump??

Today started later than I anticipated, but at least I caught up with sleep!

Now to to write a weekly review, crack on with my assignment and start to mentally prepare for my first placement!! Busy busy 💻

The weekend. Same as any other day now really, with less work. With all the time in the flat I’m trying to do the things I’ve wanted to do but been putting off: I’m propagating tomatoes and herbs, sorting through these old copies of LRB and other magazines and papers, I’m going to complete that half-finished human rights law short course, tidy my kitchen cupboards and make pasta with the 00 flour that is still sat in a jar. All good time-filling things. But it’s also enough to just sit in the sun for an hour with a beer and a book, isn’t it

Slowly getting this space set up for the new school year! I can’t say it’s going to be organized but there is definitely enough space for me to have everything on my desk at once!

01.04.20 / It’s the beginning of a new month. I’m using this day to rearrange my study. It’s long overdue for a clean up anyway. Plus, organization and a revamped study space is always a motivational boost!
