All month all Iāve been thinking is Suicide Squad will be in theatres soon. Less than a month left before the film of baddies doing sort of good will be out to the public. Am I excited? Hell yes. And I have recently gotten a whole fuckton of a lot more excited, thanks to a fan theory I read regarding the identity of Joker.
This is a pretty old theory, having been started around a year ago, but thanks to the interwebs I recently stumbled across it and my life has been changed. Hopefully for the better, since I am so obsessed with this idea I will riot if it ends up being false.

As most of you have probably seen, some Reddit users have come across a few seemingly clues about Joker being none other than past Robin, Jason Todd.
If you arenāt aware of who Jason Todd is he was Batmanās rash, foolhardy sidekick that took over the mantle of Robin after Dick Grayson left the Batcave to become Nightwing. He had been painted as the ārebelā Robin, smoking, swearing, fighting authority. He often disregarded Batmanās instructions, also.
It famously did not end well for him.
In the comics, Joker murders Todd (at the request of a few twisted fans), and Batman subsequently spent years mourning over his loss and his failure as a guardian and father figure. Jason Todd did come back decades later, as is almost tradition with comics, but he looked very different, yet also familiar.
Joker was once Z-list villain the Red Hood, an alias he went by right before he fell into the vat of chemicals that turned him into the twisted jester we associate him as today. When Jason Todd came back, via the Lazarus Pit, his personality and emotions were changed and he picked up the title of Red Hood and began to cleanse Gotham in an antiheroic way. He even finds Joker and beats him with a crowbar, mirroring the way Joker tortured him before killing him in an explosion.
The point of the little history lesson being, Jason Todd has a canon history of picking up the Jokerās identity, and for being less than sane.
One Reddit user pointed out a pretty neat theory, with Jokerās tattooās being clues to his real identity.
The main one Iām going to point out is the J on his face. While yes this could just stand for āJokerā, it could also be a nod to the brand Jason Todd had in the game Arkham Knight.
Another one that was pointed out was the feather tattoo on Jokerās arm.
On the toy, itās shown as a dead bird. This could signify Joker having killed Robin, a little insult to injury for Batman, or it could be a reminder for Jason that Robin is dead. There is also meaning to bird tattoos, especially dead ones, seeming as if it has lost its way as if a person lost their way in life. Which could also work for the Jason Todd theory if he becomes Joker; he once fought for good and is now causing destruction.
Another little clue has been the Robin suit, which has been confirmed to have belonged to the now deceased Jason Todd, which was seen with writing painted on it saying āHahaha jokeās on you Batmanā
If you look at the shoulders of the Robin suit, youāll see there are two holes that seem to match up pretty perfectly with the two scars on Jokerās shoulders. Which would give the idea Joker was wearing the suit when the holes were placed in it. The doesnāt necessarily mean he was killed in it, but does give the impression Joker was wearing the suit when the damage was done, which could very well mean Jason Todd is now the Clown Prince of Crime. Not to mention, the writing on it in true Joker fashion would have had to be done by someone who knows where the suit is. Now unless itās on display in a museum or other public area, it is more than likely hidden someone by Bats. So this person would need to know not only who is behind the mask, but also how to get into the Batcave.
Jokerās stance seems a little familiar, too. Back to the Robin suit, heās holding the cane in the same way. Sure, this may be grasping at straws but it seems almost like the cherry on top of the Jason Todd Joker sundae. It is also one of the best theories to explain Joker looking like, well, not Joker. The extreme makeover would make a lot of sense if it is not the Joker we all know. I love Jared Letoās portrayal, but hate the overall look if theyāre planning on keeping the comic Joker. Plus, this would be a way to start a new era, since trying to compete with the iconic performance Heath Ledger delivered is pointless. And since the tattoos and grill are supposed to tell a story and be little Easter eggs, it does match up pretty well with the theory of Joker now being Batmanās once sidekick.
