my boyfriend is moving in with me soon. we've been together for almost 8 months now. i love him. he's kind, funny, thoughtful. everything i could want in a boy. it's been hard adjusting to the reality of me not being alone, however. i feel as if i've always been alone in some way, even before i left home, growing up just always left to my own devices, and even more since my mom died and all that happened with my ex. i don't know how to live like i'm not alone, how to not be in flight-or-fight mode all of the time. to know that i will be splitting rent, groceries, bills with someone else, and that he would never let me become homeless, that he's not violent or mean. i hope over time it will get easier to accept.
