prompt: Colby moves back to Centropolis to become a Villain for real and the Reader and him become quick enemies because she's a hero and keeps stopping him from doing bad things.
A/N: this GIF if actually so perfect for this story. I feel like this took me a lot longer than it should have but I feel like all my writing takes me way longer than it needs to...
Colby Madden x Fem!Reader
Maybe not all Super heros are that bad
The centropolis air is dustier than Colby remembered, filled with smoke and debris like before but something about it feels different to him. Maybe it was how long he had spent underground, hidden with his family, or how he never really got to be a true villain before, but it wasn’t the same here.
Colby’s 18 now, the last to leave the house, Amy and Jake already off living their own lives, Jake as a hero and Amy getting an apartment with Hartley while they’re in University; he’s ready to finally be by himself and live as a villain. Not having his powers until after moving to Valley View has given him a late start, he’d have to work almost twice as hard to make up for the lost time.
He’s been in his new apartment a few weeks now, everything just finally getting set up fully. Colby was too busy making a name for himself as Flashform: bank heists, high speed chases, Super hero take downs which Colby was getting really good at, and more than enough petty theft for a lifetime.
Grabbing the remote for the TV, Colby turned it on, the news starting to play, talking about a new super hero that's been gaining a lot of popularity lately: Y/H/N, . She may have been new but she was making a big name for herself already stopping Colby 3 different times from committing major crimes; four weeks in and he already has an official nemesis.
It’s his first day off from villain work since his first week moving here and he plans on spending all of it on the couch, just him and the flat screen TV he just installed.
6 hours later and it turns out, Colby hates sitting on the couch with no breaks, and it’s really boring. He peels himself off the couch slowly, stretching every muscle out as he straightens up, then grabs the empty bowls and cup sitting on the coffee table, taking them to the kitchen.
Looks like Flashform was going to be making an appearance tonight afterall, maybe robbing another bank or- as Colby walks past his Window, he stops. A clear view of the Superhero Tower and its bright light shining throughout the darkening city was showing right through the big buildings directly through to his window.
It might be a horrible idea, stupid and arrogant to think he can do something that big only a couple weeks into being a villain, but it would get him a lot of publicity. Not to mention make his Villain ranking skyrocket.
So now here he is, invisible, sneaking behind a random super hero using their retina scan to enter the building full of important information and tech.
Not all Supers live in the tower, but a few do, especially newer ones who haven’t been around long enough to make much money and get places of their own; this meant his newest ‘fan’ was most likely living here. All he has to do is not run into her, and stay invisible until he finds out how the beacon is powered, and he’d go down as one of the greatest villains in history.
Keeping his steps light, he made his way through the building, sneaking in and out of rooms behind superheroes who open the doors for him. It takes a little while but he finally finds the way to the top floor, one of the floors the Supers live on and the one with the controls to the light beam.
Slowly making his way through the floor he checks a few of the doors for an unlocked one to sneak into for a little rest from using his invisibility. Finally finding an open room, he checks for people around that might notice the door opening and slips in after not seeing anyone.
The lights in the room are off and the curtains shut, making the entire room too dark to see anything. The longer he crept around the room, the more his eyes adjusted to the darkness, his sight getting more clear. He could make out a person in the bed in the back corner of the room, sleeping.
Trying not to panic or wake them, he turns invisible again, tiptoeing back towards the doorway when he feels someone grab his arm. Turning his head he gets a glimpse of Y/H/N, the only person in Centropolis who could see things that were invisible. He had wandered into her room out of all the Superheros that were on that floor.
“What are you doing in my room at 11pm Flashform,” Y/H/N Lets go of Coly’s hand and kicks him into the wall behind him.
“Not trying to put out the light on top of the Superhero Tower that’s for sure,” He picks himself up off the ground and throws Y/H/N across the room with his kinetic manipulation. She hit the wall, getting up right away and running at Colby.
He dodges her before shoving her against the wall and pinning her arms. “Just go back to sleep.”
“And let you put out the beacon? Absolutely not,” She struggles against his hold.
“I’m doing it no matter what; you might as well just let me,” Colby’s eyes lock onto hers, his heart skipping a beat. He hadn’t noticed her mask was off, her real face showing. Y/H/N was gorgeous.
“What?” She gives him a curious look.
“Sorry you’re just…” He couldn’t finish his sentence, pausing for a moment. She starts to lean in a little, Colby closing the gap between them completely, placing his lips on top of hers.
Maybe not all Super heroes are that bad.
